Society has gotten to the point where we value someone's self worth by how many zeros they have in their bank account, employers are now spying on their employees, and easier access to work has created new expectations. Due to advancements in technology and changes in society, there has been a concept that has infected almost every industry in society called, "Hustle culture.
Hustle culture focuses on extreme efficient and productivity that often leaves people burn out, stressed out, and extremely anxious. I think it is time we take a long, hard look at our society's relationship with work, money, and what is important. In this video, I pose 5 questions to challenge the direction that we are currently moving in.
    1. What kind of change does the world really need?
We often talk about changing the world, but we don't often think critically about what change means. Change is not always good and sometimes when you try to make changes in society, you end up causing more problems than you started with. Many "successful" people promote working burnout schedules of 80 hours a week to dedicate making change; however, what kind of change does the world need and does promoting burnout schedules lead to positive changes in society.
    2. What is the point of productivity?
In the last 10-15 years, we have really become obsessed with productivity to the point where it has become toxic in out society. We have things like calendars full of meetings and tasks, time tracking software, and many apps that help us live more productive lives. As we advance more and more in technology, machinery, and education, we become more productive; however, instead of using these tools to make our lives easier, we use them to make our lives more difficult. As we become more advanced, what is the point of constantly chasing productivity is this leads to a more burnt out society.
    3. What happens to society when we glorify billionaires?
In our society, we often put rich people on a pedestal and act as if they have made the biggest impact on society. We glorify their positions of power and the lifestyles they live. As we have more access to seeing how other people live through various forms of entertainment, I think it is important to question what values, ethics, and morals come from glorifying rich people. And if majority of the population aspires to be this type of person, what happens to that society?
    4. What are the fundamental needs of a human?
Times change, but people don't. Throughout history, although we have changed in someways, what a human being needs has not changed. We have had the same fundamental needs as our ancestors did. Our basic needs are food, water, and shelter; however, some of our deeper needs are safety, relationships, acceptance, contribution, and freedom. When you look at the direction hustle culture is taking us in society, I think it is important to question if it is leading to our fundamental needs being met.
    5. In the end, what really matters?
Since humans have been on Earth, it is estimated that there have been over 117 billion human beings. You are one human in that legacy. In the grand scheme of things, our lives are pretty insignificant. And although some people might look at that in a bad light, I think it is something that should be embraced because it makes you think about how you want to live your short amount of time on this planet. As society becomes more and more complex, I think it is important to take a step back and remind yourself that we are here for a short amount of time and reflect on what truly matters.

The average person has been deceived into thinking that working more to buy more luxuries is the ultimate goal in life. It makes a lot of money for greedy people who are already wealthy. I never bought into hustle culture. I’m not very wealthy, but I’m content and happy overall with a healthy work/life balance.

I have a job which allows me to pay rent, save some money and have enough spare time to cultivate my hobbies, which primarily are drawing and reading. I own a small car and live in a small apartment. I have few friends but they are very close and always there for me. I make people happy with my drawings. I'm in a wholesome and long lasting relationship. And I'm very happy with my life, despite not having much money, a big house, a fancy car and having a troublesome health condition. Being the best version of myself, being kind, helpful and compassionate makes me happy and helps me going through rough times. I really think people shouldn't look for happiness on the outside, because you can't control most of the things surrounding you. I'm really working with my girlfriend to help her see that despite not owning much we actually have a lot. I don't feel I need more than this, having her by my side, a roof on my head, food on the table and the ability to keep working on my artworks is more than enough to make me feel a lucky man.

I agree... changed up my life to get rid of the "excess" bills and overhead so I wouldn't have to work as much.
But there are different types of "hustle culture"...
Building a business - there may be lots of hustle putting systems in place, creating a product...
Urgency to "serve" those in front of you because of demand or even short-staffed.
Having to work more hours or a 2nd job because the job doesn't pay enough to meet basic needs (or saving for something special).
I am tired of seeing people having to "hustle" simply because wages are not matching cost of living or hours are cut at your main job. this is happening more and more.
I've said many times, I would be happy serving coffee in a great space.... if it actually paid the rent.
Finding something you enjoy that brings in a decent income, that gives you satisfaction and provides value to others is something I believe we all want...

I rarely did my homework, as I felt like I had given enough of myself and I needed time to play, relax and be with my parents and siblings. No place for BIBLE (KJV)? Among the other books? Practising reading but keeping far from BIBLE?
BIBLE is the only book which is filled with the
basic instructions before leaving earth = BIBLE.
Never had the interest of knowing how to live on earth?
Parsing man made schools, but satisfied having existence with the lack of knowledge?
      Hosea 4:6
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
Proverbs 15:14 - The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.
Proverbs 18:15-24 - The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge; and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge.
Proverbs 19:2 - Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.
James 1:5-If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Matthew 7:7 - Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Proverbs 9:10 - The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

What the world needs is to invest wisely in the next generation. Help create *empethetic*, creative, free thinkers. Sticking young children in 50 hours of daycare a week with 2 burnt out stressed out parents I can guarantee will not create a healthy future generation.
Nothing wrong with 2 working parents but we need to make sure parents can give plenty of attention to nurture and shape the next generation.

I've reached a point where I'm happy in life where I am. My coworkers wonder why I'm not going for promotions, or grinding to complete a portfolio that after years, leads to a job that brings stress and misery. I have enough income to live a comfortable life and be happy in my situation. And in my eyes, happiness is priceless as long as you can financially survive comfortably. I'm not a money chaser if I know it will make me miserable. Life's too short. Prioritise your health and wellbeing. I wish everyone reading this all the very best. The best thing you can do is try and learn what YOU and only YOU want to do. Don't give in to societal pressures.

There is a floor to how much you can penny pinch and save. There is no ceiling on how much you can earn
You don’t need to go full “hustle culture” but don’t focus solely on saving
Remember that people like this creator are telling you not to hustle while also slinging affiliate links and posting multiple videos per week

At my worst I had anxiety when I was treated to a day at the spa. Can you believe it? In a relaxing place and I’m overflowing with guilt cause I had the audacity to take some time to do nothing. It’s became a habit but lately I’ve learned to work hard to enjoy relaxing. It was hard at first but that’s because I’ve been trained wrong all my life, it’s a lot of work to deprogram but it is possible :)

IF you are a Christian, our work will either burn up or endure and we will or will not receive a reward. If Christ is your foundation and we build on Him instead of building it with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw then you will gain eternal rewards which in all actuality is the most important because believe it or not, we will not be here forever😊.

I was to the point where if I was not busy (for example working two weeks straight before enjoying a day off) and if I was not feeling stressed about something my value was reduced and I would cope in an unhealthy way nit picking and searching for something to be stressed about. I am an anxious person so this was pretty destructive and worsened it. It's not an overnight process but working towards the less busy path to a more pleasurable but functional path has drastically improved things. Looking forward and nor around at others us life changing.

John Maynard Keynes ( Keynes is pronounced " CAINS ")
Let's face it: Humans are treated by Capitalist managers like sheep or, in Orwellian terms, PROLES
One answer is to become your own boss.
Select a job/profession where you don't work FOR someone else.
    Plumber
    Electrician
    Illustrator
    Photographer.
A job that travels so you can easily pick up and change place
    Cosmetician
    Hair stylist
And, you need to change your values.
WEALTH, STATUS, POSSESSIONS are cheap values.

Yes, hustle culture is toxic. But the gods and goddesses hyping that culture are worse than Novichok. Meaning, they are lethal agents for the worse.
Speaking of God....I see you use the word "El" in your title. While I think you want to imply its meaning to be the Spanish "Mr." it is also the word for Hebrew "God." And! El also forms part of the Hebrew plural for "Gods" which is Elohim. There is debate that it can mean "The Powerful One."

The current trap of society: Work more -->> Buy More -->>Promotions-->>Buy More-->>Work More. Once you see that our capitalist system is built on the buying of selling and goods you realize the trap that people end participating in their whole life believing that the product they are making greatly benefits others.

In the end what matters to me is I made a difference. I'm constantly pushing towards that goal. We donate to the poor regularly. My husband called me and told me about a homeless man with no shoes. We got his size and bought him a pair but his feet had become deformed from being homeless. We gave him the socks and another homeless man the shoes. He hasn't seen the man since. We think he died. He was in really bad shape at the time. We want to build a village for these people where they can live and work. My husband asked me to create it on paper which we did. Step by step we're getting there. I love your background, by the way.

Hustle culture kinda makes me think about the story of the fisherman and the entrepreneur:
A fisherman takes his small boat to sea everyday to fish a fish to last him the day.
One day, as the fisherman is relaxing, an entrepreneur sits beside him and asks: "why don't you buy a bigger boat?"
The fisherman answers: "why sould I do that?"
The entrepreneur explains: "that way you can spend your days fishing a lot more fishes and sell them to the market. Sure you'll need to work hard at first to pay back the boat. But it will pay off in the long run. After some years you will be able to buy new boats and hire people to run them. You'll be rich! Then you will stop working to live off your hard work and finally will be able to relax."
The fisherman then answers: " Well, what do you think I am doing right now?"

Marriages fall apart (in USA) because many men are busy doing job and trying to make more money and prove to their spouse and the society. Your wife needs your time. Many women are busy doing household chores and taking care of the kids. They are exhausted to pay attention to their husband's needs. Busyness in work or doing chores kill marriages.
So slow down. Be present in the moment. Enjoy the present and don't be perfect. Focus on the most important things in life which is family and relationship.

The painful truth is that we lost as a society. We need money to live. There is no questioning this. Everything has and will continue to be extremely expensive. There is no escaping that. Some will choose death than to continue to live in this misery. Unfortunately, the fact of the matter is that people are so obsessed with it because it gives them a sense of power and control. But most have no clue the irreparable damage that is has caused and don't care. That is why trying to fix something that is beyond fixing is meaningless.
