- Kraków is the second largest and one of the oldest cities in Poland. Its historic centre was inscribed on the list of World Heritage Sites as the first of its kind. For more information visit www.frommers.co...
I went to Krakow back in 2014. It was one of the most wonderful and adventurous experiences I have ever had. I went with my fiancé and met his family. They are some of the nicest people I have ever met. Poland is beautiful in general. The people I've come into contact with were very kind.

I am proud I am from Krakow. I love my city!
I was first time there in april 2018. I fall in love this city!
Kraków (crack-ooff) is a nice city and worth to see. Ten million tourist every year can't be wrong. But anywhere in Poland you can feel comfortable and never be bored or annoyed. And it doesn't matter what you up to. Sightseeing, swimming, sailing, clubbing, shopping, sunbathing, skiing, drinking to the death - whatever you can imagin you can get here.
Moreover Poland is comparably inexpensive (I don't like word "cheap"), very safe, and all good people from all the world are very welcome. Try Polish traditional food. You'll be amazed.
And if you'll see vlogs made by people from all the world who've been to Poland before you'll get the picture.
Piekne zawsze bedzie I lovet
I don't know anything about Krakow, randomly I accessed this video, it's looking pretty nice city I think it's an old and a historical city..! love from Pakistan..!
Dziękuję Polska.
We spent 2.5 weeks in Warsaw & hated to leave - I don't speak it but the people are so helpful & many do speak English - we were going to visit Krakow - but could not bear to leave Warsaw - our hearts art still there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lovely. Perfect blend of images and lovely music. Thank you.
Had the pleasure of visiting Krakow in Aug.. this year.. delightful and so much to see, Thank you for sharing. We need to embrace other cultures in order to have a better understanding of the world..Personally, am hoping i can return to Poland next year.
I felt like walking around in Krakow again!. We visited Poland & Central Europe in Holy Week of
April 2012.

KRAKOV doğurdan da çox gözəl bir şəhərdir. mən ümumiyətlə Polşa kimi dostumuz olduğu üçün fəxr edirəm. ənn böyük arzularımdan biridir Polşada olmaq. ən çox da Krakov, Varşava və s. Greetings from Azerbaijan. We love Poland. And Krakow looks super
hey beautiful city... I'm coming next month
TajSingh Rai Brother bta sakte ho poland Mai work permit k liye Kya karna hogga
wow i'm amazed by this city
Great! Me and my transylvanian-hungarian crew will return! Both of our people achived great things throughout our - sometimes common - history; unfortunately the hungarian nation was cut up at least in three bits, so it's trauma had not been overcome untill this day, therefore we couldn't play a significant roll as poles in shapeing the future of central Europe - but we know what u stand for and we will be beside you! For a great polish and hungarian future!
Love this place
Muy bonito video, tranquilo, un momento placentero viendolo
God how I miss this city...
studied for 6 months, best time of my life..
youv got over 60k now how does it feel :D I dont know why but the music touches my polish immigrant soul I want to go home...
I have been to quite a few places in Poland , yes, English is not widely spoken but the people seem patient enough and as long as your not too lost or demanding a person can get by quite well.
Greeting's old friend. I can't wait for Euro 2012!!!
Good luck to Poland and England!! :D
I miss my city :(
JoJo C
Beautiful city would love to retire there
@Agnieszka Monika He is Irish chill. Irish are always welcome in Poland.
Paris is a beautiful city and so is Krakow. Of course Krakow is much smaller and thus has a different atmosphere but I can't imagine anyone regretting visiting this city.
I would love to visit Krakow. Wish it wasn't so expensive to go there from Chicago, Illinois in the United States.
Great city, great video! Well done!
It was amazing to know more about Krakow with such a nice soundtrack. Speaking of that, who's playing? It's so dreamy! The first song sounds like Cocteau Twins.
I believe that dreamy track is Some Sort of Paradise by Robin Guthrie :-)
Exactly! I was kinda right then!
Very nice I love Poland :)
From India love poland
@MrThorn88 I understand, the thing about Krakovians dont see Nowa Huta as a part of cracow, but you know: It is a city-district of krakow nowadays, its the district XVIII of Krakow.
I am actually going to Krakow this summer for 1 week in april .. im thinking about going to visit Zakopane this time, is it worth going there in the summer ?
I was in Krakow and Warsaw. And the Warsaw was better for my only because I really like to party and I discovered few fun places (like New Orleans Gentlemen's Club ) - especially for whisky lovers. The largest selection of whisky single malt I have ever seen
We're planning to go there next summer. I see we chose well! I'm worried about language though. Even though I'm half Polish, it was never taught to me.
Pat Weiser
almost everyone speaks English
MORE!!!
The most adorable cities in Poland:
1. Toruń
2. Gdańsk
3. Jelenia Góra
4. Poznań
5. Kraków/Tarnów/Bydgoszcz/Inowrocław/Grudziądz
Miasto z zyciem i dusza.
@MrThorn88 I agree, but luckily for Poland, they are the country in old Eastern Europe who has the most benefits: Sea side close to "rich Scandinavia", long border to "rich Germany" and still, close to countries who can provide them with cheap pick-iron (Ukraine fx.) and lots of other things for the polish industry, and goods in general.
One thing I can tell you, here in Denmark were I live, we simply pay too much for everything - groceries fx. the prices for those in Poland, are much more fit.
Very nice town!
Greetings from Cracow. Zapraszam serdecznie Alexandro. :)
Here i come poland
th-cam.com/video/gjKhOQ-TWHQ/w-d-xo.html
@trykkermike 2.When you've been to Kraków last time?Have you seen museum under main square?Visited Wieliczka salt mine? :))
Great city. Nice movie. Liked and subbed.
Best video of Krakow on yt
@Matiikumple7 And the reason so many people from other countries say poland is wonderful, is ofcourse because its really cheap going there as a turist, and many things in poland are so cheap, besides the cities of fx. Cracow, Warzaw and Wroclaw, are very beautiful cities.
i just came back my home from krakow .. have been there for 4 months.. i know every street in this video .. :) the only bad impess of mine was thives stole my friend's wallet the last moment of mine in the city . anyway i liked krakuf and polish people much
Travelling to Krakow in fall 2017, would like to know places to stay, reasonably priced but nice and, what mode of transportation would you recommend to take a side trip to Auschwitz. Thank you.
No friend, but i will be watching it on TV. And i feel invited! :D
It should be a good championships :D
@trykkermike ..And the thing with groceries, were just an example - an example we always use, us here from Denmark, cause the prices are simply heretic..
Im coming to poland hope my life will be better and happy
God bless me...
Did you move to Poland and How do you like it there ? Thanks
@Lodger3 Im keen to go visit Poland and Lithuania. They look like great countries
I was gonna last summer, but didn't get to. I have old footage, but I don't wanna use it.
@Matiikumple7 Its hard to find a well payed job in Poland, that is the main reason many polish move to other european cities..
Here in Denmark were im from, I got 4 polish friends who now work as proffessionals here in Denmark, and the same job would only payout 1/4 to 2/3 if they were working in Poland..
What season or month will be a good time to travel here? Thanks!
Anytime between early April and mid-October is great. The Christmas season is fine too.
Ever been to Kiev? its wow!!
@trykkermike Yes you are right but Poland is considered to be central europe.Belive me this is the big difference:)All you said is true but like I said it takes time to stand on feet.In my opinion it will take like 20-30 years to get 'western level' of wages.Poland is the fastest developing country in europe in crisis(4,3% growth) but crisis doesn't help.Higher taxes, prices of oil etc so many Poles decide to leave country and move to 'west'.I invite you to Poland for Euro 2012(football).Cheers
The historic buildings are nice, but there are few trees in the streets and the weather seems gray; which season is it?. I bet the peripheral streets are in shambles and they and the suburbs are composed of ghetto blocks; to bad you didn't film that as well, it would've represent a more genuine picture.
@MrThorn88 The dividing of Poland in the beginning of WW2 1939-40, ruoghly said, the half of Poland was under German control, and the other half was under Russian..
In Krakow, the "Zaczek Dom Studenckie" is said to be an building build by the communists, and it certainly looks like it, especially the corridors inside..
I stayed there for 1 week in 2007..
Also, the Nowa Huta
what's the second track from around minute 4?
Tera by Robin Guthrie.
@wczesnelato A nie czasem Gniezno?
You should make a video so we could compare.
@MrThorn88 Okay, yeah ofcourse, but when I wrote "old eastern europe", it was ofcourse, as im sure you know: The half of poland, was under Russian control in a long period, and in fx. Krakow, there is still a lot of buildings aso. from the time when they were "communists".
They also have great humor in krakow, about the times they were communistic, there is fx. a hotel in the centre of krakow, which has the name "Good Bye Lenin" ;)
Nice
I noticed that you're from the Netherlands (btw I love Neterlands :) )
A lot of Polish people working with you. I hope I do not judge us for them because it is not quite elite ;). We are a lot of unemployment and those who did not get gob it in Poland they're looking for another opportiunites.
There are no ghetto blocks in Krakow. Sure there are apartment blocks from the communist era in the outskirts but they're no ghettos. As for the trees, you should familiarize yourself with the Planty, a park that surrounds the Old City. And the streets in Krakow are in fine shape, even in the more peripheral parts of the city. Very few people regret visiting Krakow.
@trykkermike 1.As for Żaczek is longer story. It was built before the 2 ww in 30's in modern style(moderna) which was popular in europe in that period, later was rebuilt into more "commie" style. It was always Student's house from the beggining:)There are many buildings in Kraków which people think is commie style fx High building at "Plac Szczepański" which is in Art Deco style.INowa Huta is big, some parts are ok but some are rough.Krakovians don't see NH as part of Kraków
i have the same story (exept for going there next summer.)
I was driving to Hungary, when I spend one night in Rzeszow Poles don't know English very well, but Magyars (Hungarians) were even worse than poles they didn't understand any word. So I guess I can contact in Russian in Poland (as Soviet Union)
stupid idea! dont speak russian in poland ! its big fault!
@MrThorn88 2 they see it as other city.Nowohutians also consider themself as different city.Nowa Huta has big autonomy from Kraków.Every country has its crappy districts fx Paris(horrible on suburbs, everyday murder there:).Kraków is uniqe as for urban plan and architecture.I think they didn't make mistake listing Kraków with Wieliczka on the very first Unesco world heritage list in 1978:)
I've always thought that the second largest polish city is Lodz.
@baydost89 I'm sorry to hear about your friend's wallet. Unfortunately every now and then these kinds of things happen.
Where in Cracow.?
@trykkermike Yes but it wasn't too long period;))Żaczek was built by commies but by Polish commies(of course polish commies were influenced by Russia). As for Nowa Huta it was communistic project to weaken Kraków which was intelligensia city.Commies wanted to destroy Kraków and heritage of 'Royal times" but now Nowa Huta is very interesting place(turisticly and urbanisticly).Urban plan structure is very interesting:))Also doesn't look worse than districts in western countries from that times:)
hardluck89 = there is nothing in GDANSK
KRAKOW is the haeart of POLAND, soul and spirit
@MrThorn88 Yeah, i know, the suburbs of the big cities in Spain fx., some of them are horrible too I've heard..
What was Zaczek in communist times in poland? a hospital or something, cause that could explain the very wide corridors..
In denmark :):) which has maybe the worlds best reputation for pretty, clean, structured cities, we still do have some small areas which just looks like crap, and mostly drunks and people who take hard illegal drugs, live there.. Gotersvej, Bolbro Odense V. fx.
Poland
@trykkermike Take that in Poland prices are lower but yes in Poland they would earn less. Why is that?Poland is developing country.U can't rebuild completelly destroyed economy and country after 2 ww and communism within 20 years. It needs time to get level of "Old European Union countries"
Gdansk is Poland's finest city.
@allinlodz
no lodzi napewno nie przebije. pavulon, dzieci w beczkach - zawsze sie cos dzieje :D
More beautiful than Paris??
Pat Weiser pAris is not safe anymore, especially in tourist spot area
Pat Weiser yes
Kraków World Youth Day 2016!
5:55 ;)
@orczylorinc Polak+Wegier dwa bratanki....! Orok baratsag!
I'd contend that having these hideous communists era blocks ipso facto means having ghettos, but than it's your town(presumably), thereby you see it better, I reckon. It's a shame that the trees aren't planted in the sidewalks, because this makes the venue look glum, a central park isn't a substitute for that, and this is a problem with many European cities.
I'm sure I won't regret it, thank you.
ONLY KRAKOW !!!
where is KAZIMIERZ? TYNIEC? SŁOWACKI? PLANTY? UN.JAGIELLONSKI????
@wczesnelato "pierwszą najbardziej znaną" - dobra logika. czego was w tej galicji ucza w szkolach ahahah
@Matiikumple7 everything is true! Poland IS beautiful, but the people can't stay there because they want more money. A Pole (±) get $20000 every year. A German $36000, a Portugese $22000. A Russian $15000. A Italian $30000. A Slovenian $28000! Look at that, Poles want money! They do everything for it
think i will move their and take one of the jobs see how they fucking like it
david dodd I know thay this post is terrible old but welcome, if you only will be able to achieve this. You will earn 500 euro if find a job and if you are a humanist after degree or a cleaner person - it is comparable income, renting a flat about 300 - 400 Euro per month and weak or no welfare system. Are you ready to live here in such conditions?? All those attractions which are beautifull ate reserved only for those who are for tourists or rich people in general or for peope who had s luck to born in Poland and even if they have no job they can rely on familiy's help. Unemployed foreigner will simply stay homeless in minutes.
+Marta J.V. Bartsch
Hello Marta
Do you live in Krakow?? I'm just curious, as I'm a Polish- American who's heard great things about Krakow, and therefore, have contemplated moving there. However, if the Job market is VERY tough for expats, perhaps I'll just have to go there as a tourist!! Is the job market for foreigners pretty tight?! Thanks.
