I hate that people hate on Matrix. Matrix solves VERY HARD problems and getting these things right is a lot of work. But it will succeed at some point. It takes time and dedication, but it will become a very nice platform. Trust the process.
My #1 ask for Matrix is please fix state reset bugs. I've had to replace so many rooms because one or many servers can no longer use the room correctly.
Focus on fixing the server implementation. It’s not just buggy where my own messages suddenly are unable to decrypt, but it’s abhorrently slow syncing conversations. Particularly I’m referring to the clients. It is still the weird thing used in the public sector and by geeks. Hopefully its good enough soon.

If Sliding Sync is disabled then Element X will be slow like the old Element app?
Element X only speaks Sliding Sync - it doesn't know how to be slow :)
