In the heart of Fleur de Marie, amidst its edgy streets and colorful history, the first edition of the Fleur de Marie Freedom Festival is born. Drawing inspiration from the successful Freedom Meals, this festival emerges as a beacon of cultural celebration and unity, honoring May 5th Liberation Day.

Het Fleur de Marie Freedom Festival is verbonden aan de Nederlandse Bevrijdingsdag op 5 mei. Het evenement herdenkt de rol van de Caribische eilanden in WOII, waarbij de bevolking essentiële steun bood aan de geallieerden. Het erkent ook de emancipatie van de tot slaaf gemaakten in 1863 en de reis naar de opbouw van een samenleving die de koloniale mentaliteit overstijgt. Het Muziek Festival is gratis te bezoeken, maar een toegangspas wordt aanbevolen om uw toegang te garanderen.
