Bought 3 of those chains for fire wood cutting Still using them. Sharpen easy and get the job done on the dead and down ash wood I have been cutting. Good video.

Thanks for showing us new products that is a great deal on saw chain wow! I always bring my rock rake it makes cleaning up so much easier. Bummer about Brother Rich's truck, hopefully he makes it next time. I add some side racks on my big racks to wrap my cables and chockers around, and carry my chains in old ammo cans. David you and that Fiskars make a deadly team, nice splitting. I cut some today myself and ouch I am out of shape,lol. Stay safe out there buddy!

Great videos. I was actually wondering myself about those saw chains on Amazon. Good to see you try them and give your opinion. Must be a good suspension on your truck. I believe you had cut dead standing tamarack. It must be good and dry to have a cord on the truck. Around here, we refer to tamarack as juniper. Unless it is real dry, it is like lead and you would not risk any more than 1/2 cord at a time on any pick-up truck. Good to see you out there. Keep up the videos.
Yeah everything I cut is standing dead and has been since a bad wildfire in 2015… this old truck has a good stack of ribs under the rear end lol more than my 1 ton has
Can you do a video on how to pick which tree to cut for firewood? It seems like you pass alot of trees on your way to where you decide to cut. I only usually cut wood for hunting camp. And have a hard time picking wood that ready to burn right away. Thank You for your videos.
Wow I can't believe the price difference in chains you have to pay, here in Pa. I pay 25 dollars for my 28" 21 dollars for my 24" and 16.50 for my 20". I tried one of those chains and I also thought it got dull faster, maybe just me. Those people that think the newer echo chainsaws are just as good for your type of tree felling are the same people that think a stihl ms 180 is a professional saw for felling your trees. have a good one.
Can relate to the aches and pains. After doing more firewood sales than ever before this year, my elbows were absolutely wrecked. Did some research and learned I had developed “golf” elbow. Have you ever dealt with this issue?
That 441 definitely sounds like it’s sipping air, tune low then go up the mountain it should end up richer. Quick vacuum and pressure test would find it fast. In my experience it’s typically the pto side crank seal that starts to leak first on the 441’s. Little carb cleaner can help ya find that air leak. Nice seeing local guy cutting. Enjoying the content

Love the ol ford! Cool truck. I got a roll of Archer a yr and a half ago. Its pretty good for the price. Like ya say nothins great out of the box but it sharpens nice for me and holds an edge fairly well. STAY SAFE!!
I ran some 8ten chain and it was okay but I like the Archer a little better. That being said I couldn't find the 8ten in skip and I did find Archer in skip and I prefer the skip 2 to 1

A lot of those chains are Chinese made and come from a softer steel, so they are prone to faster wear and stretch.... Always touch them up before first use and keep the file on hand when in the field...

Could you let us know again what length that you end up marking your logs at to cut them or witch video that you said that information in?? Oh a couple other questions for you!!! One is how much wood do you have your truck setup to haul in a load and second what do you have on the end of your cable that you use to pull logs onto the road to cut??? How wide do u cut the firewood cause I use my 18 inch bar on my stihl ms211c to cut firewood and I sell a cord for $250 that is me using a wood splitter also and delivering and stacking the wood for my customers

For back and joints, cut out all gluten its killing you and get some glucosamine and chondroiton it will turn your joints around. I am 60 and no pain cut oak often.

A good bench vice does wonders my friend just remember to be steady and smooth when filing don’t push too hard… once you get the hang of it you can add a little pressure… use good files such as Oregon and preferd files they cut good and last a bit longer
Stihl chain is the only factory edge I've found that's usable out of the box, but it still leaves a lot to be desired, unless I'm in a serious pinch, I grind them all before I run them. I also don't often cut firewood, so I'm not encountering dirt and rocks on the regular, if I were I'd probably switch up everything I know and learn how to round file

Glad to hear about those chains. I might have to try one. The only chain I have used that's pretty sharp out of the box is a Husqvarna c83.

hardwood usually takes between a year to two to three years depends on what you are cutting up. Oak in locust takes 2 to 3 years to dry.
