Your video helped me get my contacts synced to my phone and icloud. Thanks mate. But I troubleshooted and found a solution for your problem. The error message that you get is because icloud cannot import large volumes of contacts at one go, there are file size limits and google's file creation limits. I had 2088 contacts to be synced but everytime only approximately 500-600 contacts got copied from the vcard created by google contacts. I went ahead and did the whole thing in batches of 300 contacts a time and it worked like a charm without any error. Just reduce the number of contacts in the vcard per batch if you get any error. Thanks again.
Honestly THANK YOU so much, just been on to Apple support for nearly an hour, and the guy had no clue to a certain point. He said that all my contacts that I had added on over the last 3-4 years were synced to my gmail account and not icloud. Ok that was a start, so I realised the issue but after that it was my job to do the homework, as he said we dont support Google, fair play, So once again THANK YOU after seeing your Vid all is good
There's absolutely no way to do that via iPhone? Tried the vCard method you showed, got the same error, some contacts has been imported but the majority of the contacts I have on Google just haven't been imported :( My aim is to save my contacts to iCloud and then remove the Google Account from the iPhone, so that I only have iCloud active on the phone. Any tips?
You _can_ use Google contacts from your iPhone via syncing (see support.google.com/contacts/answer/2753077?co=GENIE.Platform%3DiOS&hl=en&oco=2), you just can't actually import them to iCloud (as far as my research took me). I hope I'm wrong or this changes. If so, let me know :)
@@ReadWriteExercise And would it maybe be possible to move Google contacts into iPhone's internal storage and then from there to iCloud? So there's no direct passage from Google to iCloud?
Finally figured it out! Must go to contacts app on every device you use. Click on preferences if on Mac, and then go to accounts, then add, then select Google. Repeated this for iPad and now all my contacts show up when using messages app across all devices.
@@giacomocongedo9587 On your iPhone go to settings>contacts>accounts>Add Account>select Google_sign into your GMAIL account>follow all prompts>done. Now select contacts app on iPhone>groups>select the Gmail account you just added or All Google transfer contacts and you are done. iCloud will be automatically updated with your new contacts. hth
Thank goodness… I’m looking at my 2 phones/gmails/clouds & missing contacts between them thinking there’s definitely an easier way than manually 😳 thank you!!
