Regarding the quiet/loud problem. On your computer go control panel > Hardware & Sound > Sound > right click your speaker and select properties > Enhancements > Loudness Equalisation. Your youtube videos will never go quiet and loud again (except when windows does an update, you have to do it again then).
I agree totally. If its going to be a musical. Be a full on musical. Don't just walk around with regular dialog and then just random break into a song about something like its normal, with like music in the background and everyone else singing back up like they know the lyrics to your life!!!.
