    Came back to hear this again. Whatever it is about the genius of Tubular Bells that I find so compelling, I find it really hard to explain it to others in words. I think it's impossible to compare it to any other piece of music ever written, because it seems to exist along some dimension of its own.

    That was a whole lot of fun to watch and listen to. Also cheers for crediting the Brooklyn Organ Synth Orchestra version, I love their rendition too. :)

      Outstanding and a tip of the hat to Brooklyn Synth Orchestra too. I have had the privilege of getting back into synths after a 20 year hiatus and my modern equipment (FA08 , reface cp & yc, moog minitaur) blows my mind! Like traveling to the future.

    Wow it took me a moment to realise that the synth at 1:25 has all black keys!
    It looks totally badass! :D
    Awesome video, it gave me a minor nerdgasm to hear all those lovely instruments.

    Absolutely mesmerizing. I'm so glad I am finally able to support your channel. I'm listening to your "multi synth mash-up" playlist as I read the first chapter of your "incomplete book". Great refresher for an old school synth head. Haven't noodled around for a while. I'm so far behind on the latest, I'm not sure I even know what all my equipment is capable of. This should help.
    Thank you!!

      AA Battery Thanks! Trust me the process itself of connecting cables and setting up the tripod was not a pretty sight... would have much rather met you for beer after ;) that said it was a ton of fun. You have 10-20 minutes to learn a synth but you've got the help of people who know it like no one else

  • @Tom-Lahaye
    @Tom-Lahaye 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just fantastic! nice shots of all the equipment used, some sounds were the real original sounds on more modern equipment, like the chorus on the memotron, which must be the modern digital melotron.
    Couldn't see what synth was playing around the 5:00 mark, with the Elektron drum machine, but that synth also produced a sound recognicable from the original Tubular Bells album.
