I have a propane stove top burner that I use to make percolated coffee and vintage glass lined thermos's to keep my coffee hot for 24 hours ( camp stove percolator). I also have the wide mouth vintage glass lined thermos for heating soup and keeping it hot again 24 hours. Rechargeable's are only good if you can recharge them. Hope you & yours are doing well & thank you for watching my channel. Hope you subscribe & stay in the loop. Stay safe & God bless. 😊
You should consider having a propane generator with an inverter, instead of a gasoline generator to charge your solar generators in an extended grid down event.
I agree & that's a great idea, but my tank is only 250-lbs. And I heat my fireplace with it also. It would empty to fast. So, I just keep around 30-gallons of gas on hand & stored for winter.
Well sir instead of using all those generators for your freezer why not get a bag or a box or plastic container and put all your stuff out side where it's nice and cold.. that way your save power until you really need it for your freezer.. do you get all your refrigerator stuff as well put outside if you have a porch or a patio you can put it all right outside your door can't you..?
@@justwondering3048 I could, but we are in the country. Raccoons, dogs, opossums, etc. And I can go approximately 5-6 days running them. The whole reason for getting them.
An ice chest (aka cooler) in the trunk of the car works great. Also freezing gallon jugs ¾ full of water help keep frozen food frozen longer. Swap from freezer to fridge periodically to keep multiple jugs frozen. Less energy needed to maintain the temperature due to the thermal mass of ice jugs.

@@saracash7959 I’m glad for you as well. We are getting another 4”-6” inches Friday through Saturday they are saying. Fingers crossed🤞.
wow, how many power stations do you have? glad you are prepared
@@RaulAlvarez2678 I have 26-total & one more on the way in mail. Lasting 10-yrs until dropping to 80% battery, they literally pay for themselves. My aunt down the road uses a gas generator & she is spending $55 a day in gas to keep it running around the clock. Thanks for watching.
@ I only have 2 at the moment and plan on getting at least one more per year going forward. I’ve used them a few times this year since I’ve had them.
@@RaulAlvarez2678 It took me a while but I'm so glad I made the investment. So worth it!
Looks to me like you're well prepared for the outage congrats good job. Have you considered a propane generator to recharge those power stations?
@@pnowikow I have (2) gas generators already just for that. But that is a great idea since I already have propane.
I've grabbed on amzn the 48V 25Ah GRENER batteries for like $240 and connect to the solar input and get about 550W input charging. A cheap way to put more juice in these units.
As long as it works, that's all that matters. Great idea.
Have you ever thought of selling all of those and just investing in an eco flo delta pro ultra, with smart panel? I know it's a big investment. But all these units can't be cheap either.
@@Robmancan1987 Well the reason I like portable power stations vs home smart panels is if one of my units go down then I have backups. If a home smart panel goes down, then it’s all down! 3 is 2, 2 is 1, 1 is none. My opinion only.
WOW you got a nice set up.. and you DON'T even NEED NOTHING for your REFRIGERATOR!!! CUZ ALL YOU GOT TO DO IS GET A BUCKET PUT YOUR STUFF ON THE PORCH AND IT'LL STAY COLD. SO DON'T NEED NO POWER GENERATOR FOR NO REFRIGERATOR THAT IS SO COOL TO HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED
@@justwondering3048 Thank you. It’s took a long time to build up my preps but I feel I have what I need.
Do you live outside a city? I live in Toronto Canada and today Jan 11 was our first snowfall of the winter season. Yes we had our fifth green Christmas in a row too. By 2pm this afternoon the snow was all gone. We never have power outages. Oh sorry I need to correct that we did have a storm ( 30 inches of snow) in Jan 25, 1999 that shut the city down for a few days.
@@rrain3375 I figured you would have plenty of snow! Lol! Well, I guess that’s really a good thing. Thanks for watching my channel & I hope you subscribe. Stay safe my friend.
First time viewer sorry that is way to many power banks and usage for 3 days. You would have done better for lights to have invested in some LED Lantern lamps and battery supply for all of them. And in a snow storm situation your freezers would be good for up to a week if you don't keep opening and shutting the freezer doors. Your propane operated heater looks great not sure how you have this set up, is your house normally heated by propane? I have the Mr. Buddy have not had to use it yet but economically it makes sense also have a kerosene heater and the fuel. Best wishes. Anna In Ohio
@@buckeyedav1 Hi Anna, It’s great to hear from you. I do have rechargeable lanterns plus plenty of oil lamps & my led Ian bulbs. And my propane insert fireplace has a 250-lbs tank outside. I have enough power stations to do me for roughly 5-6 days so I like to keep the fridges & freezers running. I don’t waste the power on tv or any nonsense I don’t have to. Just essentials. Hope you & yours are doing well & thank you for watching my channel. Hope you subscribe & stay in the loop. Stay safe & God bless. 😊
@@KYHill-billy Thanks for the reply.. Stay Safe and Warm out there. Anna In Ohio
@@tammieaf2712 Very good idea!
What lights are you using?
@@folgeradam6966 usb lights that plug into a usb port like a cellphone. 3-6 watts an hour is all they use. Check out my winter preps video & you can see them there. There’s a link in description. th-cam.com/video/79gikxMdFTg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=NSSY0s0-0xI9zzmK
Why not put one of the depleted power supplies in your truck and charge it as you are driving the misses to work?
Charging from a 12v lighter port would take around 30-hrs. They do make a charger now that you can connect to your battery just for this, but I do not have one and also taking her to work just takes about 20-min round trip. So really isn't worth dragging it out just for about 3% charge. But a great question all the same. Thanks for watching.
What cost would you need to to spend to purchase all those batteries????
@@cutlow1383 some were on sale when I purchased them & some regular price. Plus a handful are used like new. I’d have to sit down & figure it up. Average for a new 2000w unit is roughly $700-$800. A 5000w is around $2000. I bought them here & there over a few years & grabbed good deals when I could. For instance one of my pecron e2000lfp which was used but original owner only charged the batteries 2-cycles so literally brand new I gave $400 for it. The Allpowers R1500 I gave $300.

$15,000 worth of power stations! Not reality for most. Go share some with your neighbors!
