  • In 1987, a woman in Florida began a new relationship after separating from her husband.
However, she had no idea of who her new partner really was - a dangerous paedophile. Nor
could she imagine the horrific ordeal he would ultimately put her 2 young daughters
through. This is what happens when a predator becomes part of a family. This is the case of

Also it sometimes lightens some of the crazy shit that occurs, but you'd have to watch to see for yourself as maybe I'm not doing her justice with my explanation!
For example, she has imaginary conversations, talks to herself, does voices, accents, performs mini skits of how conversations could've played out etc...

He hired a high profile defense lawyer but he ended up being sentenced to life in prison. But the defense lawyers niece was killed by her boyfriend and after that experience he retired as a defence lawyer because he now understood how the victims family feel. I’m feeling grateful for my childhood. I was, like many of us, raised in a dangerous & dysfunctional home. My dad traveled a lot for work & when he was home, he drank. A lot. It eventually killed him. My mom was bipolar & I spent my early childhood dealing with that. At 8, I was responsible for breakfast &?dinner, for getting my younger sister & brother off to school, trying to keep the house clean & taking care of my mom, whether bandaging her wrists when the cutting went to deep or dodging plates or comforting her when an episode passed & she’d realize what she’d done.
I couldn’t talk to my friends in school. All the way into high school I knew they couldn’t understand.
In my teens, I started hanging out with the “bad” crowd. Most were truly good hearted people who were never given a fair shot in life. People who didn’t blink at my stories & would respond with their father’s sexual abuse or their mother getting them stoned as a toddler to entertain her friends.
The thing that always stood out against their stories was that there was a lot of love in my family. My mom didn’t choose mental illness. Later, when she’d found self medicating with coke worked (but brought a lot of shady people around) she handed me the drugs to give her as medicine. I was able to regulate what she smoked, and make sure that she slept & ate regularly. For the next 25 years she was my best friend. There were still occasions when I’d have to drop everything to go inspect the backyard for werewolves, but the episodes were measured in months rather than hours.
My dad was never physically abusive but he was emotionally & verbally abusive, when he hit a certain point in his drinking each night. But between 3-6, when he got home from work & drank his first 6 pack, he always told all of us how much he loved us, that he was proud of us.
It was very jeckyll & Hyde with both of them, but I’d grown up with it. I could sense the slightest shift & adapted to it, or, when necessary, just braced myself. But I understood that there were two sides and that the one who loved me was the authentic person.
My dad & I had some brutal verbal fights, and I hated him frequently but I honestly don’t think I even questioned if he loved me. Not once.
It’s unusual to grow up with a strong sense of self, feeling supported and loved, while inside and tornado of mental illness & substance abuse.
My little sister didn’t remember my mom being violent (my mom never denied it). I did try to keep the kids (5&7 years younger than me) from seeing a lot of it. She did have an incident that she’d held onto for years, a memory of me shoving her in her bedroom & holding the door. Refusing to let her out. She didn’t even tell me about this until she got pregnant. Something about the hormonal shift, she started getting flooded by memories and she suddenly remembered that our mom had been trying to kill her. I’d locked her in & barricaded the door with my body while my mom screamed & growled like an animal, beating me, head butting me in the stomach, doing whatever she could to get to my sister, who must have been around 6-7. She came to me to ask about the memory & confess that she had been upset about her alternate version for years, blaming me & not even including my mom in the memory.
Amazing how humans work. I’m glad she didn’t grow up with the real version, that she was able to tweak the memory to a vicious bout of siblings fighting. I’m also glad she remembered the truth on her own. Dozens of things came back to her during her pregnancy & it made me wish I’d done more. But, I was a kid too & I did everything I knew to do to protect them.
My experience at 8 was nothing compared to what Sayeh went through, but it’s more than a kid should have to deal with.
I do think it made me stronger & more empathetic. It certainly required being perceptive, trusting my instincts. I’m grateful for that.

Thank you, dear Emma, for honoring Sayeh, Sara and their little brother by telling their story in your unique dry humoured yet sensitive way.
What me struck most, next to story itself, is you emphasasing that it makes no difference at all whether someone describes themselves as a "survivor" or a "victim" of a crime. 👍🏼 This is such an incredible appreciation and respects the dignity of the affected people and should be mentioned much more, instead of the often preferred victim-blaming and -shaming. Stay safe and keep up your great work! Best regards from Cologne 👋🏼🤟🏼

    Frequent viewer here:
I just wanna say, there's quite a bit of controversy with true crime genre on YT as of late, and though I can appreciate why some people feel negative about it, I believe Emma Kenny is one of the best presenters in this horrid subject. It comes down to humans being naturally interested in the macabre, hence why in the 1800s France had corpse viewing rooms and they were packed with people to look at the recently discovered unidentified bodies from around the city. However, I like to believe we emotionally evolved enough to look at true crime to understand how and why these things happen, how to avoid becoming a criminal case, and understand the psychology behind the perps.
Thank you for being a mediator for me, Emma. Though I don't believe true crime should be purely for entertainment, I do believe we need to have people like you feeding viewers facts in a digestible format. I just hope you don't get called out by true crime critics. What you have built on your channel has the potential to spotlight the darker aspects of real life that most modern media is too chicken-shit to show us. All the best, mate xx

Thankyou for your lovey comment. I have had many of the families of the victims contact me with lovely messages and I’m now also working with some families who want me to cover their lost loved ones and give them legacy. There is a lot of channels that just do it for clicks and subs I agree but we try to research diligently and give respect to each and very victim. There will always be someone who wants to berate you but they don’t have all the facts about how or what we do behind the scenes. Again, Thankyou for your lovely comment. Em x

@@EmmaKennyTV Thank you. I can appreciate how difficult it is, not only to learn the cases, but submerge in them - even having contact with families. Its impossibly difficult for most people. What I really appreciate is how you tie the emotional aspects to each case and really hammer down how detrimental it is - unlike some crime channels who simply say a, b, c. Thankfully, I've never been a victim or had known anyone who was a victim (of this extent,) but its truly scary how one small thing can lead to destroying a life and community. I like to think most of us are clever enough to avoid these things, but sometimes its just dumb luck.

Those poor children, they had to go through so much. My heart broke for them. Thinking how their Father's concern for them was ignored when it could have saved them both from the horrors of what happened. I am so glad Sayeh survived to put that monster behind bars and get some sense of justice for her little sister and herself. I wonder if Wike punched the attorney on purpose because he would rather of had the death penalty/ been on death row rather than in the general prison population were he would have been treated badly (as deserved)? I am annoyed he died of natural causes after only 15 years. I hope you are right that the devil wanted him sooner. Sayeh is indeed a fighter, a warrior in fact, I am so glad she has gone on to live a life full of passion for what she does and has been able to have children of her own.

Thanks again for this story, again you got me teared up there at a few times. Looking forward to tonight. Havent heard of this case, although I vaguely recognise the name.
Last week I had a migraine so had to watch on catch up the, the following night. I really enjoyed it.
One of my favourite episodes so far, Emma, you were absolutely bang on point, you had a real vibrant buzz about you, or so I thought- discussing such a case as the demise of Dahmer , yet you had me laughing , your wit, humour and sarcasm , blended with genuine compassion, candour & empathy worked beautifully.
There are some channels, who simply like to tell the facts, with no personal input, or opinions, no talking of the individuals psyche, delving into their minds etc ... I love that about you, its what makes your channel unique. Also not fannying around doing your make up whilst telling an important, true crime story! What is going on with that? I do not watch other female crime channels it drives me nuts! What is the link? Is it not making a mockery? I can't see the connection personally, it really irks me but hey, thats life!
    I digress 😉!
Emma Kenny- "I'm not afraid to tell it like it really is!"
I love that , it reminds me of Martina Cole- 'The only female true crime author who dares to tell it like it it really is!'
Except you, are talking real life, real people, real circumstances, real events. People's lives.
Therefore absolutely paramount you get the balance , so the respect is there for the victims- or in this case the irony of the situation.
Karma dished out brutally.. A dumbell utilised to get the deed done , what can we say, coincidence? Karma and coincidence I like to believe. Touch of intervention... Set up by the prison , perhaps, inmates & guards?
We can only speculate, either way, it was apt, no one can doubt that!
Raise a glass to all the victims, I'm thinking Stevie Hicks here, in particular for obvious reasons.
It was odd listening to a case where somebody lost their life and you don't feel the usual pain for the loss, for dahmers family , of course, but for him, not at all. Makes one feel odd, as our compassionate sides an emotions are usually bubbling over, our eyes are brimming with tears.... Not for Jeff. Sorry., not this time. Nothing but a feeling of justice was actually served, albeit served in a not quite atypical manner. Having said that, I do believe you're right, Jeff had to have anticipated something could/ would happen to him eventually? His honesty and total lack of emotion or real shame in his interviews did him no favours. As well as mocking the other inmates; not the most intelligent way to go about prison life whilst residing in the
    general population there, Jeff!
One thing I did feel bad about is that poor Jeff's father is still alive, still living in this hell, I feel for him , I really do. What a tragedy for not only his victims & their families , but Dahmers family too.....😢
Side note- I loved your Do not comply Hoody , that style is wicked, I wanted to ask , are they unisex Emma? I'd really that one your were wearing, it's my fave so far!
2 minutes to make a sandwich & I've got chilled mojitos!
Thank-you for all your hard work, to yourself & Dusted, as always!
    Taz xx✌🏾 💜 xx

I'm a recent subscriber to your channel and spend entirely too much time binge watching your videos. I appreciate your passion for protecting children so much. There is a case that exposed a stunning failure on the part of protective services to protect a child. Gabriel Fernandez was tortured by his mother and her boyfriend over a period of months before dying from a brutal beating from the boyfriend. Protective services failed to act on a number of reports of abuse from his teacher and others, as well as their history with the mother with her other children. To add insult to injury they made a monumental effort to cover up what happened and their involvement with the case. The mother had mental health issues, which the defense alleged contributed to what she did. So it hits on a lot of topics in which you have expertise. There's a docuseries on Netflix called The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez, which is absolutely heartbreaking. Before that was released I had never heard anything about his case. At some point in your busy schedule I think it would be very interesting to hear your take on what happened and the absolute failure of the systems that are designed to protect our children.

Thank you Emma for covering this case one I'd not heard of, A Salt mine would have been to good for him not sure where would have been best , but as later you refer to his early call to the entity below i think that was "a job well done". As always your respect for the victims and their families always shine bright. this young child (a very young child who survived horrific and brutal abuse) went through and gave evidence to make sure he did not do this to anyone else. The Alison Botha case so sprang to mind these females became survivors and became women who would not let this change the ability to fight and move forward, to also help others. TRULY TRULY AMAZING WOMAN and her family. Not forgetting her sister may she rest in peace knowing her big sister was doing the right thing always. Loads of love to you EMMA and DUSTED.

That little girl has steel in her soul. I can't believe adults failed children so miserably AGAIN, no scratch that, I can believe it, but I am in awe of her strength to make SURE she brought him down for all the horror he inflicted on her and her baby sister. It's sad that she had likely built that strength because her POS mother left her to care for herself and her sister. I am so all over the place emotionally--feeling real hatred for him and the mom--but so glad that that little girl refused to be broken by such evil. I hope she is doing great in her life and that the people in her life know how amazing she is. I hope every day he spent in jail was torture. Thank you for covering this case I'd never heard of. Sayeh is my newest shero.
