hey gunny must say it's good to see you work at home so that people including my self of course can see that you can do good jobs done right from your garage keep it up cheers
Hey Gunny, most of us here are diy'ers and can't afford expensive paint booths. Showing us how it's done at a garage is perfect and huge for all of us. Thank you for doing this. Hopefully more vids like this in the future. Great work
I'm off work Thursday and Friday this week, and here I am up at 7:30 am in Scotland watchin someone doing what I'm having a break from,go figure lol great vid as alway gunny, have a great weekend m8
Thanks , for this series, when you paint can you talk about, the gun and compressor setup you are using. I would like to do my hood and rims at home. 🍁
Go gunny! :D I kinda learned that tip with taping up the cracked under the bag due to overspray coming out sometimes. Keep the work up my man! Waiting for next episode. I would watch a full movie worth from start to finish if u had that. Later gunny!
I always have to paint cars in my dusty old garage. Nice to see that I'm not the only one that maybe struggles with the dust. I have flow coated so many panels now, just because a lot of the time it's easier than trying to correct 100 dust nibs in a single panel. I had to paint an entire Honda Accord a couple of weeks back, and the dust nibs were nightmare fuel on that one. I spent almost as much time doing correction work than I did painting the car. Not to mention my masking tape kept trying to peel the paint off with it for some reason. I've never really had a problem with that before, not sure if it has something to do with the tape I was using.
Hey brother, hope you have already started your weekend, I got a question hope if you can clear me out, on the quarter panel, the the faded clear, you first sanded it 500, then you hand scuffed with 1000, then painted over, how did you determine whether if it needs to be primed or not? Thanks bro.
Because it was so thin and only just started going though I knew it wouldn't need primer. If it was thick and a pronounced edge I would have primed it. Hope that makes sense
@@TheGunmanChannel Yeah, a spark could send the whole thing up in smoke... How will/do you manage the cold and moisture over there in Melbourne in your shed setup? I'm in Perth - setting up a home booth - My Torana needs a lick.
@@Shueysstuff honestly I haven't had to worry much. I sprayed the Golf when it was raining and had no issues. I may have to get bigger heat lights to preheat panels when it gets really cold. But for now I've been doing alright. If you're in Perth if imagine you won't have to worry much about the heat. Just spray during the day when it is warm.
@@TheGunmanChannel Cool mate. Thank for your experience... I'll consider a few options to preheat the booth/panels before I get painting and see how I go. When are you going to get that LS400 SuperNova back out?? You gave it such glowing reviews in that blue Ford Focus job you did... Thought we'd see more of it.
You need to invent and market PPE for pets, so you can take them to work if you are a bodyshop prep'r/painter. You know, like an 'emotional support' animal in case you get nibs in your clear coat...🤯😡🤬😤😢

The dust was the biggest issue

Love watching you tape and spray. I’ve been spraying for over 26yrs now and still learn something new from ur videos!
Been doing the masking over the gaps for years! Works great!
This is a cool series Gunny. The tip on masking the panel gaps is awesome, never thought of that. Thanks

Nice work Gunny
I use a Uni pro hand held masker from Bunnings they are very handy and a twin pack of paper goes a long way 👍
Like always amazing work and dedication.
Great job Gunny
Progressing well Gunny, looking forward to the painting stage 👍 John UK
Gotta love it! ...😀👌🏽

@@TheGunmanChannel yep, got it, thanks brother, have a good weekend.
What brand is that purple tape?
Have you tried working on the head lights
Do you have a link to the 1000 grit pad?
What is the partnr of the grippy pads? 3M?
Hey man… any thoughts on using a cheapo infrared patio heater in your garage setup to help cure in the cold moist conditions?
The ignition point would be my biggest concern. Apart from that it's a good idea. I use my small infrared light but it doesn't seem like it does much

what size compressor do you use in this video?
Gunny Exellent vidio..
Them headlights need some elbow grease and clear coat
Go watch the newest video 😉
👍👍🙏🙏
Why u use plastic I thought you can use paper inside bonnet?
You can use both,no right or wrong way really, just whatever you prefer
I usually would but I don't have any way home, plastic or newspaper 🤣

why 1000 for prep isnt that to fine for paint to stick i sprayed my car with 400 base then clear
p1000 and 1000 grit are different
P1000 is fine to key the old paint ,as long as it's not shiny
i see p1000 is same as 500 grit learn something new every day thanks
Off Topic mate I know you used to game or still, did you watch HALO series.. WTF
