    I have a vine that loops around the top of my enclosure by the heat lamp. I can always find my gargoyle basking in the heat on top of the vine haha. He just loves it. I always get scared that he is gonna cook himself.

    Fun fact, I have a recurring Reptile nightmare where I have geckos that keep reproducing and cannabalizing each other and overpopulating the tank before I can move them to different tanks and I'm so upset seeing them keep eating each other.
    Another factor of the dream is I somehow Cohan and keep finding different species in the same tank like somehow I now have 15 bearded dragons all in the same tank with the geckos with my snakes and frogs and they all keep eating each other and more and more keep appearing and I'm freaking out.
    No joke I've had this dream probably 10 plus times. It's a VERY common recurring dream that I have.

    • @BennyJackson101
      @BennyJackson101 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Dude. There’s absolutely no way. You just described the EXACT same recurring nightmare I’ve been having for the last 2-3 years. It always starts with just one gecko, typically my leopard gecko, but it progressively gets worse as more and more start showing up in her tank. It gets extremely uncontrollable and while it might sound dumb, when I’m experiencing it in the dream it’s terrifying. They also start cannabilizing each other like you said, and overall the living conditions for the litany of reptiles just gets worse and worse as I can’t keep up.
      I seriously can’t believe you’ve just described my very same nightmare. I wonder if there is some sort of underlying subconscious situation we’re both experiencing in our lives, thus the recurring nightmare.

    I thought gargoyle geckos didn’t take to insect feeders as well as crested geckos, and also as adults gargoyles didn’t need insects. Not sure if this is right or not but just looking to get one so I want to make sure I understand.

    I have seen lots of responses to this question across the web but I was wondering. If the gargoyle geckos are more mellow than crested geckos and if either of them accidentally jumping onto the floor is a big risk/thing you need to look out for

    You say they don't need extra heat or UVB and that "room temp" is okay. But room temp is defined as 68°F -72°F. You also say they should be kept at 75-80°F. So I just want to clarify if I need heat or not. Lol. Thanks.

    • @marzipanmango
      @marzipanmango ปีที่แล้ว

      I keep my apartment at around 18°C (I think in Fahrenheit that's in the 60's) so I have a heat projector that I use to keep the top part of the enclosure 25-26°C (around 80°F I think). The bottom is a few degrees cooler.
      Maybe he keeps his house really warm or something!

    My first reptile was actually a gargoyle named Pompeii! Hes great, though hasn't been getting used to handling that well. He's gotten away from me theee times and still makes me nervous.
    On that note, do you have any advice on how to get them used to handling without trying to run and and jump away constantly?
