    Thank you for the video! I also have my DB but when I want to select the whole group it doesn't show up. I still have to select one by one. Any thoughts?

    Rly nice video! I have a question tho. I just started working on a project (made by someone else) structured just like this, with DB an HMI tag tables but I can’t understand why the hmi tags are not linked to plc tags but instead each one of them has an address which seems to lead to a DB which doesn’t exists in the project and so I can’t trace back the hmi tag in the program block functions. Any tip?

    • @PLCskilltree
      @PLCskilltree  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s probably because the connection has been removed from the HMI tags. If you add PLC tags to your HMI tags folder, the connection between the PLC and the HMI (check “Connections” in the tree structure on the left) is used.
      It seems the project you received is a bit of a mess and needs some cleaning up 😃

    thanks for the video. love them all. why did you not copy the whole db into hmi tags? this is also a nice way. if you change something in the hmi.db you can just update it in hmi by copying again.

      You´re too kind Koi Koi... I chose to add each Module tag structure into HMI tags because this nicely demonstrates the structured and modular approach which is what I like to bring across to the viewer.

    Hi
    I have used project library in the data type and link it with the database tags in the PLC tags but when i am using combox in scada to select the option the integer is not moving in the database.
    What could be the reason and how to fix it.
    How to know the data is moving from scada to plc database.
    Thanks

    When i follow these exact step creating HMI tags and connecting them to my PLC tags via HMI_connection its requires an address for the tag even though i am using datablock tags. I've tried to find a way to change absolute access to symbolic access but the program wont let me and doesnt even offer the possibility. In my global datablock properties the "optimized" option is grey and i cannot activate it. I am using a S7-300 PLC. Can anyone help me with my problem?

      S7-300 PLCs do not support optimized block access. This video is made for S7-1200/1500 controllers.

    thank you for this. how can I view live status of my hmi tags

    • @PLCskilltree
      @PLCskilltree  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You´re welcome Manie, you can not monitor the HMI tags in the HMI application (unless you start a runtime that´s connected to the PLC). Since you the HMI application is most likely in the same project as the PLC application, you can monitor the HMI tags by opening the PLC project and monitoring the tags there. Hope that answers your question.

      @@PLCskilltree Thank you for your reply. I only have an HMI in my project with tags and not a PLC.

    in the case the HMI is created but the user decides to see where the output is located within the plc program, what is the best way to search and locate?

    • @PLCskilltree

      You do that by using the excellent cross-reference function in TIA Portal.
