I've seen many comments before saying how comes Columbo's got a New York accent, not a Los Angeles one, in this scene he explains that he's only been in L.A. for 14 years. Just saying, Falk is faultless.
It's so cool to see Universal Studios in the early 70's, about the time I started visiting there as a kid. Now I live right next to it like I always dreamed about.
Hmmmm, well its a funny running theme throughout the entire series, that folks don't think he's a cop/detective. The funniest being the nun who thinks he's homeless and needs a new coat!
She let the tyre down but how could she know who would be in the Jaguar? I think she was planning to kill both of them. Skeleton under the fountain bad idea.
Dr. Flemming was very clear that he makes motivational videos, not movies. Also I don't think he was ever actually on a set. He was in a projector booth and at a theatre, but not on a set.
Could be either or both. In Prescription: Murder, Columbo was at the movie studio and on what appeared to be a set, but they weren't filming. Both episodes were filmed at Universal Studios. I used to work right by there, and some of my colleagues even saw Columbo's jalopy once or twice.
Under normal circumstances, I'd gladly tell you but I don't want to be guilty of spoiling the plot for you and making you hate me forever because of it so I won't tell you. What I can tell you is that it will all become clear at the end, believe me. If you were not being serious at all and tried to make a joke out of what you said, forget what I told you and all will be forgiven. Have a good one.
I rarely comment on Columbo videos anymore because what is the point when it is just clips from a small handful of episodes uploaded in rotation for comment week in, week out? How come there are no clips from the first episodes such as "Prescription Murder" or "Ransom For a Dead Man" being uploaded for comments on them. Or better still the full episodes of them being uploaded.
Columbus has always been my favorite. It’s too bad when it started in the 50’s like this one it was less than 10 minutes long for the whole show. They leave out a lot of details. Later they were as long as half an hour which was a great improvement. The TV had just been invented in the 50’s so the TV sets were a lot smaller so they couldn’t handle longer shows
@@Levente20 like Midsomer Murders in UK, until a producer let the cat out of the bag and said that was a good thing. Anyway, Columbo is still the best detective series.
@@Levente20 I do. Imagine growing up in a culture where the only time people of your own race are mentioned at all is in reference to criminals, servants, or patronizing tokenism. That's got to be psychologically distressing. Don't you think?
It is about time for a remake of the series. Use those scripts, make the episodes a bit shorter etc. Why not a younger version of Frank Columbo? Then you can add some things from his history. So a pre-Columbo show. In England they did the same with Inspector Morse with John Thaw. They made Endeavour Morse with a young Morse. It is very good.
I agree a reboot would be great if they could find the right actor, but his investigative technique might seem a little dated after 20-plus years of police shows that have relied primarily on technology and DNA.
This is one of the shows where a remake would be blasphemy. Columbo is Peter Falk. I remember that he has a son, and in Mrs. Columbo they had a daughter, so I would see a continuation called Columbo where it is his child, 4th generation, who has just become a detective.

I love them and i have all the episodes as well
That's literally the point
Same! Amazon Prime has all of the seasons for streaming.
@@tidypog3272 Bingo!

I always just assumed he moved or was transferred to the L.A.P.D. . His mannerism sorta give it as an indication that he wasn't raised there.
It's so cool to see Universal Studios in the early 70's, about the time I started visiting there as a kid. Now I live right next to it like I always dreamed about.
That's all RIGHT, I would never have typecast you as a detective, LOL, great line.
Anne Baxter was Nefretiri in "The Ten Commandments." So gorgeous playing opposite Charlton Heston's Moses.
Good in so many . "I Confess" too.
That wasn’t anywhere near her most powerful and compelling performance. “All About Eve” was a show stopper. So devious.
And never forget a shirtless Yul Brynner!
I would never Typecast you as a detective LOL
Saw him in _Murder by Death_ as a private detective, and I'm told he's done others.
Seriously so happy I had gulped before that line. Hot coffee would have been everywhere.
Anne Baxter has such a very beautiful voice
I first saw her as Eve Harrington in All About Eve. It's hard to shake that image of her.
I bought for myself the complete DVD series. Love it!
How much does the complete series cost?
"Avoid actors, they'll kill ya!"
Well this aged well.
5:30 - Truer words were never spoken.
Great episode! Lieutenant Columbo always gets his man (or woman).
Just like the Mounties!
Or man actually since this actor looks transgendered.
Anne Baxter, an actress as beautiful within as she was without.
Anne Baxter...rowrrrrrrr. They don't make 'em like her anymore.
My favorite episode and favorite actress..
you ain't kiddin.....
As I kid I must admit I had impure thoughts after seeing her in The Ten Commandments. Ironic huh?
All about Eve
I think it’s an inside joke, when he states that he wouldn’t typecast Columbo as a detective. It’s a writers joke or something within the show
Hmmmm, well its a funny running theme throughout the entire series, that folks don't think he's a cop/detective. The funniest being the nun who thinks he's homeless and needs a new coat!
Colombo is always purposely being silly, clumsy& comical
so Hollywood was already saving the planet by using those electric cars before Bruce Willis...!
Beautiful leisure suit!🤣
I wonder how valuable that property would have been once it was revealed just why she wouldn't sell it.
Not any less to the studio...
How valuable is Ezra Miller to WB now that he is a pedophilia grooming cultists?
She let the tyre down but how could she know who would be in the Jaguar? I think she was planning to kill both of them. Skeleton under the fountain bad idea.
Of you check the other clip, she rushed it and lit the gas as soon as the car parked. She had no time to recognize faces.
She was always Gorgeous...!
It's either a oversight on the writers part or Columbo is lying, because he was on a movie set in the Episode Prescription: Murder
I'm sure it was an oversight.
Dr. Flemming was very clear that he makes motivational videos, not movies. Also I don't think he was ever actually on a set. He was in a projector booth and at a theatre, but not on a set.
@Ferhan Asar Right. Thanks.

Remember that Columbo is an avid liar on the job. He'll use his words to manipulate the mood, which he did here to keep her off edge.
VERY frustrating these short clips ....and unable to watch full ,If they cant show us full.., why do they entice by these ????
To lure people into watching the full episodes on Peacock, probably.
How many times does the lady with the silver dress and brown belt need to climb the stairs? 5:30
Her clothes are stunning
I'm not wasting my time because I'm not doing it and I won't do it .

John Finnegan You can watch whole episodes on IMDB tv
Because it's their channel, and they get to decide what content they wish to provide. I, for one, am very grateful.
Okay democracy.
.
does anyone have any ideas?
Sometimes, Columbo's clumsiness is NOT charming. Lol. On a movie set, keep still!!!
That was deliberate. He wanted to start off on the wrong foot to keep her off ballance.
No doubt and the feds actually go with there lies !
Is that the same woman Sophia talked out of committing suicide on the Golden Girls?
