Or maybe yes but i actually liked chill kill and this feels like a great song that keeps some of those vibes while being fit for the summer and for their anniversary. Personally i think it's a solid 8. As for the album, i have yet to listen to it enough times to fully immerse myself into. I listened to it while working so it all kinda still mixes in my head. interesting that he noticed the song is happier Chill Kill but "still a bit sad" i get the tiniest hint of a nostalgic/maybe even lamenting quality in the chorus but not sure why i mean it's on theme with RV given the past few comebacks felt like disbandment albums 💀
Bruh, let's have a talk about your increasingly overwhelming expectations about them and their musical direction. They definitely are going in a direction that doesn't and will not be going to suit your musical tastes ! They're never going back to do Psycho 2.0 and this song is probably closer to it stylistically and sonically (seen multiple comments expressing this as a Summer Psycho version) ... So yeah, also apparently Joy said that they really had a LOT of their opinions chimed into this album, right from the concept of MV to choosing the songs. Hence, if you're not happy with the way they're going, I'd really suggest you to not react to them anymore, at least on TH-cam so that you won't be further disappointed !

When I listened to cosmic for the first time I kinda liked it, then I re-listened to it I realized the chorus was beautifulll especially that final chorus with Wendy’s high note
love red velvet down and i was so excited to see them back but im so sad their 10th anniversary is being so downplayed... you can tell SM is just not interested in them anymore :/ however i completely agree when you said this song is like chill kill's sister!!! its so red velvet and i honestly think even though chill kill grew on me, i liked this song by the end of the first listen/start of the next one (i had headphones on 2nd listen) and its so calm/simple but i prefer this key change and love the energy it carries into the last chorus. also love this mv yuppppp!! i wasnt completely focused when listening to the bsides so ill have to revisit but i will say i feel like their releases as a whole havent been as strong :( only liked underwater + chill kill off the last album (but its fine i guess lol underwater is one of their best now to me) but i'm interested to see if any of these bsides do it for me when i listen again. here's to hoping sm will remember their velvet side for the next comeback...???? they seem to have said fuck that entirely
i think the members themselves said they wanted to showcase the “red velvet” sound more, & not make it only about red or only about velvet. This could explain why their past comebacks seem to be a mixture of both instead of it panning simply to 1 side. As a post-Psycho luvie i do kinda want a Velvet comeback to happen although we had it in wildside, & we’re getting it mixed in w/ their tt along w/ the red side, for now it is what it is & i’m still very happy for this cb, i still get teary whenever i watch the cosmic mv, that ppl I watch reacting to it never gets. It’s a song special to both rv & the fans (it’s literally a song dedicated to the fans, alongside their 10th anniv.) so if the fans are receiving it well, I think all is good :)
@@Koko3op sry abt the agressive comments you’re receiving but the one abt joy just rubbed me off the wrong way cause it was a blatant lie considering the disrespect she’s been receiving from sm this era.

The title is good, just the tempo is a bit slow for me. Try to speed it up by 10% and it works better for me. Last drop is definitely giving Mood Lamp vibe. Overall the album feels like a chilling summer day, compare to other fun, upbeat summer album they released previously. Bubble is my fav from this album.
For me personally, Cosmic is one of RV's best title track ever. I was hook once that base hits, then Las Drop and Night Drive ascend me everytime I listen. Bubble also start to hook me in so all in all, I would say this is a great mini album nevertheless since I can't stop listening to it until now.
a pessimist too - that's all my reactions of my ult group are filled with doubt. I'm fortunate enough to listen to songs more than twice and often like them. that happened to cosmic, to queendom, to fmr, to umpah umpah, zbb, rbb everything - their artestry always gets me tho, even if it's not trendy
Like the song, love the concept, it's all great-- it's just that my cake girlies are the summer queens and I was genuinely hoping for a fun and light summer song like Red Flavor. Hell, I could revisit a song like Rookie in a HEARTBEAT. I'm still listening, of course! I just want some more Red side :P Edit: I wrote this for Cosmic. I'm still watching the video! I agree with you so far ngl.
That's exactly what I thought! The chord progression sounded like a slightly happier version of Chill Kill. They like to ride this minor ascending/descending train, which i love. Honestly, I was underwhelmed only because this is their 10th anniversary. I know it sounds very Red Velvet, but I wished they did something more daring? I feel like we've been getting this kind of sweet melodic sound back to back, i.e. Queendom, Feel My Rhythm, Chill Kill...I would've loved to have heard something like Psycho or Bad Boy. Even the dance was underwhelming for me. I feel like I've seen them fit more moves in between lines than with this song. Anywho, LOVED your thoughts as always. Thank you!
What make me like RV is that their concepts always different and never boring. I'm not RV fans, but I like all their songs. The only song I don't like is RRB 🤣. Now they are making a comeback with Cosmic, when I first saw the MV and heard, I immediately like the song and also like their b-side songs🩷
I feel like for their 10th year anniversary, i wish this album would have been 1)fuller, and 2)had more variety. Bc red velvet to me is very versatile. Even on their solo and duo promotions, u can see that. And yet, when this album came out and i listened to it, it was the first time i ONLY added the title track to my playlist bc it was nice and i kinda liked it the first time, it really did feel like chill kills little sister who's just a tad happier. But other than that, the b-sides weren't giving red velvet b-sides this time, and im disappointed at that, so i hope maybe throughout the end of this year we'll get maybe another album similar to either "The ReVe Festival finale" or even the 2022 version
I always say let Red Velvet take you where they want to go. Leave your expectations at the door. You're not going to get a psycho 2 or a bad boy 2. This is called unique music with a new sound each time. Also I don't know if you have we're having a bad day when you were recording this or what but it shows on screen. This is not authentic or honest. You seemed annoyed and bothered that you had to do this at all. It's insulting to the girls and to the fans. So of course you'll get pushback.
Ok girl! I was actually in a good mood, fans just hear and see what they want to hear and clearly there’s a lot of sensitivity and defensiveness over this comeback which I didn’t even DISLIKE and rated a SEVEN. But these comments are making me not like it loooool
ima keep this real short n sweet bc i don’t play about my girls but alot of y’all need to come to terms with the fact that rv never do anything twice. that is literally their thing and that won’t ever change for anything 🤍
Yeah, I can never predict this reactor for some reason. I mean he liked Russian Roulette album (which to this day many Luvies don't mention in their fav albums) so maybe it's his taste being quite 180 to what RV wants nowadays!
Red Production fumbled so bad. I feel maybe they should've just made this a repackage of Chill Kill and added the six songs. Like story wise it makes sense anyway, they killed their father then joined a cult lol. Like please, I hope the real anniversary album comes out later this year. 12-16 tracks, double title track; one for red and one for velvet. Cosmic doesn't feel like a genuine comeback. It feels like what Queendom was or EXO's Don't Fight The Feeling. Seriously, the mini album only has 2 versions. For their 10 year anniversary??
I had the same reaction as you. After i figured out the chorus i could feel it more. But it‘s like a spent time on it song. At first i gave it a 7 too it rose too a 8
I’ve never really been able to get into RV’s music - just not to my taste even though I think the girls are insanely talented. This album was the first by them that really grabbed me. This is my fave title track I’ve heard from them and I’ve been listening to the album here and there.
i agree somewhat w you’re saying it seems sm is giving them lackluster tt’s bc compared to the other red tt’s they had such good quality n production in it n give the good quality tt’s to aespa BUT im not saying the production now for them is down the drain but you can tell it’s less effort being put in. (loved cosmic the first listen) it’s different sound compared to a lot songs being put on recently so it’s a refresher tbh BUT was sad to see you enjoy last drop but all of a sudden give it a 7 when it’s such a good song but then again i remember you saying underwater wasn’t that great yet it’s such a velvet/sexy track from them so my question for you is what are your favorite tracks from velvet if you don’t mind me asking?
also i agree w how the choreos are always the same ever since queendom like their older choreos r the best so it’s crazy/sad how that also downgraded for them too
Yeahh 7 is still a solid song but it just doesn’t surprise me in a way that makes me super interested. It meets my expectations. My favourite RV songs are Queendom, Perfect 10, Bad boy, Russian Roulette, Eyes locked Hands locked, Body Talk, Cool hot sweet love … I actually have many lol
@@Koko3opokay i respect that n the songs you like rlly good! like body talk is not talked enough but I’m still surprised last drop wasn’t doing much for u but to each it’s own ig 😭

I'm hoping this was just like a pre-release mini album or something and they have another full album coming out this year with better songs. Like I don't even want to voice this out loud but I really feel like this is the last year for Red Velvet. All of the members just seem so sick of SM and the direction that they're taking the group. Add that on to the new girl group that SM's supposed to debut, I feel like the treatment of RV is only going to get worse. Like there's no denying that sonically, and in terms of promotion, the quality of their last few comebacks have gone downhill. Gosh I was really anticipating this comeback and it was a big letdown for something that was marketed as a 10th anniversary special..
I would disagree. I haven't heard any downstep in quality at all. Quite the opposite. "Psycho" is my fave song of theirs, but "Chill Kill" is my fave release.
@@Lyf4rMusic there is no downgrade. Even if a release isn't your taste, doesn't make the quality or your taste worse. Maybe you're just not into Red Velvet's music anymore then? Nothing wrong with that, tastes can change over time. And if you haven't liked one since "Psycho", I'd say that's a reasonable theory. Now starts the hunt for what group's music you really like now. Happy hunting 🤘🏻

But first thought was that it feels really cohesive and flows really well, which is quite rare for an sm album since they like to play with many styles and for mini album this can be a weakness. What was your favorite song?
But i did not like sunflower too. Only song i didn't put in my playlist
Probably last drop is my fave
I thought the same!! Cosmic is definitely Chill Kill's sister
interesting that he noticed the song is happier Chill Kill but "still a bit sad"
i get the tiniest hint of a nostalgic/maybe even lamenting quality in the chorus but not sure why
i mean it's on theme with RV given the past few comebacks felt like disbandment albums 💀
Honestly one of my fave releases from them! Loved all the songs tbh. This was definitely a take lol but I respect
I did still say it’s a good song and rated it a 7 so it’s not that hot of a take lol
@@Lyf4rMusic exactly!! it’s clear he has a particular style of music he likes & red velvet is just not that kind of style 🤷🏽♀️
@@jayyyteeee I was honestly kinda tired seeing him fight the music they release and be so depressed throughout them. I just felt someone had to say it so that it would be better for both sides, if we had our expectations in-check since RV is not going to be that active as a group going forward.
I rated the song a 7 and said it’s good. How low are you guys’ comprehension skills? You click a video that says HONEST review that has nuanced reasoning and mind you, the members themselves have had frustrations about this comeback so how do you know I’m not voicing how they feel?
Some of you fans’ default setting is just being defensive for absolutely no reason.
You can suggest all you want but essentially I’ll do what I want with my channel thanks because most normal people are curious about nuanced reactions not just “OMG THIS IS PERFECT! RED VELVET ARE THE BEST MUSICIANS EVERRRR!!!!! 😍😍😍😍”
You know no one is forcing you to watch my videos right? LOOOOOOOOOOOL the fuck
@@Koko3op WOW ! It's honestly such an irony you talking about me being 'Defensive' while I was voicing my honest opinion to your Honest reaction in the most respectful manner! I Dense much?
Yes, the members have voiced their concerns, but that was about the Promotions, Releases, Album quality etc.... *Never about the Music* ! I've been a Hardcore Luvie since 2017 and NOT ONCE I've heard them complain about the music they release ! They never compromise in that.
We NEVER expected you to be "OMG this album is 100/10, BEST ALBUM EVER" , but seeing how amazing the songs are sonically and you not vibing to them, I sincerely suggested maybe their present music is NOT for you. That's all there is. It was only a suggestion, you can do whatever the hell u want with your reactions ! So yeah, go figure. Bye. have a good time with your channel.
Its giving culty 😂 in a good way 🤔💅
That’s what midsommer is about lol. This video is based on that movie and it’s about a cult that sacrifices a person every summer to keep the sun out forever
Unlike most SM titles I loved this first listen, and it's STILL grown on me more. The b-sides are
SAME ! Even as a OG Luvie, it's really rare for me to get into RV's titles on the 1st listen bcoz of how many things that goes into their production. So, this was the title track after Queendom that I got into right after the 1st listen
Its a feel-good, solid album from RV. I wasn't expecting anything crazy different for their 10th anniversary. Its a gift for long time fans, not to attract new fans imo
Music is subjective. And for me, I definitely love Cosmic. It sounds a bit dreamy and fairytale-ish. The mv is as always, beautiful.
I honestly don’t mind criticism for the girls because I believe that’s how we grow. But I watched some of your reactions, liked and subscribed to your Patreon and I realized that you never had anything good to say. It was aways backhanded compliments or complains so I couldn’t enjoy. Now when your reactions appears on my recommendation it honestly makes me feel sad.
I agree that would be better to not react.
Never had anything good to say? You clearly weren’t listening considering how much I enjoyed the Killing Voice and most of their albums before Chill Kill. You just lied loooooooooooool. Dont be sad about my reactions I’m a random person online lol
stop taking other people's opinions at heart. it doesn't mean that if they don't like something, rv sucks. it's just that this release was not for them.
I loved everything about this
Might one of my favourite red velvet title track with the concept & mv
Wish it got more recognition
When I listened to cosmic for the first time I kinda liked it, then I re-listened to it I realized the chorus was beautifulll especially that final chorus with Wendy’s high note
This song is a grower .. had to play it a few times now I'm hooked !
love red velvet down and i was so excited to see them back but im so sad their 10th anniversary is being so downplayed... you can tell SM is just not interested in them anymore :/ however i completely agree when you said this song is like chill kill's sister!!! its so red velvet and i honestly think even though chill kill grew on me, i liked this song by the end of the first listen/start of the next one (i had headphones on 2nd listen) and its so calm/simple but i prefer this key change and love the energy it carries into the last chorus. also love this mv yuppppp!! i wasnt completely focused when listening to the bsides so ill have to revisit but i will say i feel like their releases as a whole havent been as strong :( only liked underwater + chill kill off the last album (but its fine i guess lol underwater is one of their best now to me) but i'm interested to see if any of these bsides do it for me when i listen again. here's to hoping sm will remember their velvet side for the next comeback...???? they seem to have said fuck that entirely
i think the members themselves said they wanted to showcase the “red velvet” sound more, & not make it only about red or only about velvet.
Cosmic has become one of my absolute favorite title tracks of them! I'm obsessed
red velvet never misses i fear.
we can see you liking that shady comment about joy btw.
What shady comment are you talking about? The comments in this video are becoming insufferable considering I actually liked this song. So many weirdos
I’ve just looked through and tbh I saw the bit about Wendy’s vocals, liked and carried on. That’s my mistake it’s gonna happen sometimes but I own it.
@@Koko3op sry abt the agressive comments you’re receiving but the one abt joy just rubbed me off the wrong way cause it was a blatant lie considering the disrespect she’s been receiving from sm this era.
@@Koko3op sure… don’t even know why you liked the comment in the first place, they claimed wendy doesn’t sing as much in their recent comebacks which is absolutely not true lol
Red Velvet giving us Midsomar on ABBA vibes = YESSSSSSSSS
if u want something similar to psycho listen to psycho bro
Cosmic and their album is great.. for me what RV done for this album is special.. no,, every songs is special.. and is my honest review..
One thing Seulgi and Wendy gonna do is eat some vocals!
I just want some more Red side :P
Edit: I wrote this for Cosmic.
Thank you!
Thank you!
I LOVEEE cosmic sm this minis become one pf my faves from reve
But these comments are making me not like it loooool
listening to sunflower with THAT straight face 🤨🙄 what happen to having fun ??😕
Maybe cos I didn’t enjoy it ? lol should I force myself to have fun?
Id rather have him be honest not everyone has the same taste in music😭
@@luk_.armxndii damn i kinda don’t care
@@sushimatchago dude you cared enough you comment why you so hostile💀
ima keep this real short n sweet bc i don’t play about my girls but alot of y’all need to come to terms with the fact that rv never do anything twice. that is literally their thing and that won’t ever change for anything 🤍
Bubble and love arcade are my favorites 💞 but I loved all the songs from this ep
This is one of my fav mini from them. Surprise you didn’t like
Yeah, I can never predict this reactor for some reason. I mean he liked Russian Roulette album (which to this day many Luvies don't mention in their fav albums) so maybe it's his taste being quite 180 to what RV wants nowadays!
russian roulette is a very jazzy and new jack swing album except bad dracula and some love. i guess its a taste.
OMG ! YES that would've been so good!
@13:00 pls show us what a Melody/Last Drop mash up would look like! btob are vocal kings and rv are vocal queens :D
I’ll try and edit it one day
I had the same reaction as you.

@@Koko3opokay i respect that n the songs you like rlly good! like body talk is not talked enough but I’m still surprised last drop wasn’t doing much for u but to each it’s own ig 😭
but if you don’t like their music bc ive noticed a pattern if it were me id just stop reacting bc this is like the 4 cb of theirs where it seems like you don’t like their body of work at all n instead be a casual listener instead of devoting your time to react🤷🏽♀️
can someone what the intro music is?..

@@antaroluvrwhen they release more stuff I definitely will!!
Where is the downgrade of quality ?? Literally, they released 3rd Full album Chill Kill and it was one of their best albums sonically.
@@Lyf4rMusic there is no downgrade. Even if a release isn't your taste, doesn't make the quality or your taste worse. But commenters like this confuse "a song or release that isn't to their personal taste" with "the quality of songwriting and everything surrounding it is hovering ten inches below the absolute bottom" twenty times a day. 🤦🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
I love red velvet DOWN but it makes me really sad to say I haven't fully enjoyed a title track since psycho....
@@Hgoenge81 The thing is I always LOVEEEE their bsides I just feel like they play it too safe with title tracks to where longevity is just not there. Granted I've been a kpop fan for 10 years now so the newer sound of kpop in general hasn't been impressing me too much. There's some good ones here and there but yea...
