A lot of you commenting in disgust fail to understand the context this practices happened. Many gay men used to go cottaging or cruising because it was quite difficult back then to meet fellow gays safely or easily due to persecution, hence why places like public bathrooms became those spots. Nowadays it’s generally easier thanks to the internet so we find this unappealing, but please at least try to understand things from their historical points of view before being so harsh or hateful.
