    About the artist:
Johnny Brown was born in Norfolk, Virginia in 1930. Johnny gravitated toward music at an early age and decided to move to Detroit, Michigant in 1959 to fully pursue his career. In the mid-1950s, before his rise to stardom, Johnny was deeply involved with a woman named Clara Thompson, whom he met during one of his performances in a Detroit club. Clara was charismatic and seemingly supportive of Johnny's aspirations, but the relationship soon turned complex and tumultuous once Clara was approached by a rich brother that wanted her. She left Johnny and led to what the artist described as a "really dark period in his life." In the midst of his depression is when genius struck and he wrote his now legendary single "These Hoes Ain't Loyal" that encapsulated the confusion and betrayal. In 1962, the controversial yet popular hit record "These Hoes Ain't Loyal." was released with blunt social commentary, satire and a catchy melody. The song dominated airwaves throughout the 60s and Johnny became a worldwide sensation.
