I personally don't own any leather items or shoes that cost more than about $250 new. I don't have sentimental attachment to them. I have the luxury of being able to buy a new one and not look back, but others do not. For those who do feel attached, I am glad that Bedo is able to bring back their item to a usable condition, and quite often, restore them to a higher standard than the original manufacturer.
"You told me you wouldn't be able to make it look like new. You lied to me!" A true testament to your skill, experience and imagination! I'm not a bag restoration fan, but I never miss one from you!
I'd like to add to your fine comments that when something you value is restored, especially by your own hands it becomes yours again. Its value increases more than something you could buy. I see this when I work on my own cars.
You saved a family heirloom. These things matter as they are part of family history. You can be very proud of the work you did for the nice lady. Well done Steve!
“When you look at new, you throw out the story.” That should be a subtitle for your estimates from now on. Great work, great story, fantastic reaction. Steve, you’re gonna make her momma cry. 😊

Her reaction gave me so much joy, because I know if she had that reaction her mother is going to be so emotional, giving someone their memories is such a gift. I just don’t think people realize what a gift that is.
I love watching you give these bags new life! This bag has a history and is important to the owner. It's better to have the bag fixed then buy a new one.
I hate very few things more than our modern throw away culture. Thank you and this young lady for keeping the love of fine things handed down through generations and showing us your true talent of remaking them like new as well as the respect she has for great craftsmanship.

Has Steve ever done a video or in part of a video talked about his opinions on luxury brands and if they're worth the $$$ for the price or just a general opinion on each brand? Just seems that would be interesting coming from his skill set and what he knows about the brands using be good quality or crap tier for the money
Not that I am aware of. He does point out areas where cost cutting has taken place but he doesn't trash or rate manufacturers. I think that is pretty professional of him and like that he doesn't engage in that. Things are only worth what somebody pays for them and Gucci doesn't seem to have a shortage of customers.
There are occasional comments, woven in during the repairs. . Mass production is what it is. His little comments, have helped me learn and truly understand why .. real leather.. is worth the extra effort .
Well today we learned that Gucci bags are made of canvas and CARDBOARD! 🥲 Hardly worth it for materials or craftsmanship. If you’re buying luxury brands for investment purposes, buy Chanel, Dior and Hermés because they keep going up in resale value. If you want designer but can’t pay full price, buy verified secondhand. All that really matters is the materials and construction and if you like the item and it suits your lifestyle. Gucci and Louis Vuitton are hood designer now, they threw away their exclusivity.
It’s very low key, like when he pulls out the paper aka fiber board and easily rips it. I also saw a LV video where he was ripping the old leather pieces like paper lol. I kind of like that he doesn’t give his opinion. Sometimes those videos come off as if they are criticizing how people are spending their money, which isn’t really anyone’s business.
Good on you Steve! I wasn't sure, but it looked like your customer was near the point of shedding some tears. To me, the purse was reborn, but it was her reaction, that really confirmed it. I thought her comment, not wanting to throw the story away" was so accurate.
The lady,s reaction is priceless and that,s what I have been saying about restoring old things is not about the money is about the history of the item, like the lady said if you throw away the item you are throwing away the whole story and the memories.Good video Steve I like it.
Personally I don't see that stain left there are something negative. Let's say you would have that fabric and replaced it, the bag wouldn't be restored it would be a new bag, and I think those small stains is part of the history and memories of the bag. And awesome job, as always. I'm doing small leather goods as a hobby (Wallets/card holders/watch straps) but i'm learning techniques for construction to make a handbag for my sister soon. And seeing you repair these bags are worth a lot to me, because I see how they are constructed, I see where I will have to reinforce, and slowly I make my plans and your videos help me to figure out things to avoid making mistakes. Appreciated.
Whenever I watch you're videos I'm allways impressed but when the lady came in to pick her purse up and she said it was her mums the memories it must hold priceless
