    I used to have a playlist called “happy” and it just consisted of songs that had a positive tone or just made me happy in general. It got deleted so maybe I should make another one.

      Even though it's not something I usually listen to, I have an entire playlist of female rappers and songs by lizzo that make me feel like a powerful woman and it comes in handy whenever I'm feeling down on myself

    and it's important to only use POSITIVE affirmations.
    So avoid words like: I'm "NOT" "WORTHLESS" -> turn it into: I am worthy.

      My therapist actually told me that the brain can't process words like "not". So if you want to have a better relationship to your self internally saying "I don't like myself" at the beginning is the first step to saying "I like myself". For me personally this really works... I start with the negative one and try figuring out how to make it more and more positive very slowly. (Sorry for maybe bad English I'm not from an English speaking country)

    Whenever I'm feeling overwhelmed I make it a point to find things in my favorite color around me in order to distract myself.
    I do like to say to myself "it's just a bad day/moment, not a bad life" or "I'm doing all I can do, I am only one person." It can help prevent an anxiety attack at times.

      This is a wonderful and weird tip I've never heard! I notice now I tend to wear more green when the bad days come. Thanks for bringing it up. Colours also bring me happiness

      @@AspienPadda i were all black, as i think many here may. But i add the color to my makeup. My color is PURPLE. Fav color blue. But not on my face, lol

      Sure thing @@hmpz36911 but first off I know for sure not all Black Friday's subscribers wear black all the time, take me for example. I have this theory that these non goth subs are subs because of either latent gothic desires or to gawk, me being the first of those two options. Second, I believe the tip was to look for specific colours to distract from a meltdown or a panic attack or the like. It's a form of grounding. I do enjoy discussions on favourite colours though. My favourite colour is actually padda which is frog in my mother tongue so basically all the colours frogs can be but mostly that lovely brownish green that frogs here are.

      I hope your depression gets better soon or at the very least you can deal with it. I've had really bad anxiety lately so I get it. I have been having frequent panic attacks. if you're on any kind of medication maybe talk to your doctor because the medication may not be right for you

    Helped me get through some really tough times in my teenage years, even more powerful if you can say it to yourself in the mirror with conviction 💕

    Tip #6: Eat chocolate! It always makes me happy when I'm sad or depressed. Tip #7: Hug/kiss a cat or dog. I don't know why this makes me feel good but it does.

    Also, something that really helps me is try your best to keep your space clean and as organized as possible. Some simple tidying up can make a lot of difference ❤️

    Smiling is good. Laughing helps too. People come to me when they're having a bad day because I make them laugh. My coworker told me about her bad day, and ended with "today can't get worse."
    I told her "yeah it can. You can poop your pants."

      I find i was that go to person. Yet in private i am truly manic depressive. Funny how one can hide things. My only small joys were helping others. Well & my music, in a depressive way mostly (as not to feel ao alone)
      Then the constant using started hurting too bad. My money dwindled. My own problems got too serious for all to be around. My whole life was mostly juat all so one sided. Left all alone.
      Yet still desire to help others. Maybe part of my sickness? Maybe looking to hurt myself more some say? When one can look past differences and get drawn to strangers whilst out & somehow i sum up solutions to help them and they just leave.
      No connections to fail me so to go. & yet i still can not help my self... 😵

    Thank you! I have found that massive doses of vitamin D and getting a physically demanding job in a coffee shop has helped my depression go from overcast to partly cloudy. I'm wishing you the best🖤🖤🖤

    Deep in your video archives is a set of 4 videos that has helped me tremendously at varying times when I am feeling a bit more consistently down than I should. They are the responding to hate comments rounds 1 through 4 (found in the "nobody knows" playlist if anyone is interested) They are an excellent example of how we should be viewing such negativity about ourselves regardless of whether they come from someone else or deep in our own anxieties about ourselves and yes, I have replayed them many times when going through a rough time emotionally and no doubt they will continue to help again if I need them. Thank you they really have helped.

    I have a "Depression" playlist on my phone which has songs that help me when I'm depressed most are happy and empowering but there are also a few that are about depression and that help me to cry and actually feel when my depression gets to the point that I'm just numb because sometimes it's easier for me to feel sad first then happy when I'm that far gone down to rabbit hole of depression

    I love the fact that you're talking about feeling bad/sadness. Lots of people have these issues more during the holidays but following your tips about coping with them make me feel better about myself and my life/friends/family. So get out there and do something once a day for yourself. It could be anything just something that makes you feel better about yourself.

    this is a wonderful upload. i have MDD and panic disorder, so i'm very used to hearing the "make yourself exercise" when i feel like sometimes my exercise for the day is getting out of bed and showering. these are realistic things that are easy to do even when you feel so sad that we may not take the time to actually do. or rather, think to do.

    When I was feeling overwhelmed recently with things going on in my life I have no control over, I controlled what I could. I spent hours cleaning and organizing and I felt so much better. I accomplished something and didn't just sit on the sofa all night.

    Thank you for sharing this. I'm dealing with MDD, anxiety and PTSD and some days it's hard to get out of bed. All of your suggestions may seem simple and very obvious, but when you are struggling with depression, you don't think of doing a lot of these things. Lots of love!

    For me I will take a few deep breaths and tell myself that I’m okay. Because I am okay. Also picking up my guitar and having a jam. I’ll try and not worry about the notes and just play. Even just looking at my guitar helps. As someone who goes to therapy, being able to talk in a non judgmental place is pure gold.

    Girl you don't know how much I needed this right now. Some guys on insta were sending sexual harassment and death threats earlier, calling me a "stupid goth bitch," and just generally being nuisances. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, this helped a lot.

    Holding/being with a cat has been proven to help anxiety because their heart rate is slower than ours so it can calm us down :):):)

    You're so adorable ♥️. I missed you in yt and im glad you're finally a bit better with depression and can help yourself with it. I hope it goes better and better everyday 🌹I think the biggest thing you can do to deal with depression is trying to avoid isolation. When you have depression you tend to isolate yourself and stay at home, watch movies you dont even like but still do, forget about your hobbies and even you stop liking what you used to like, etc. It is really hard to break that cycle but one thing you can do is go outside as you said (first with friends if you feel uncomfortable alone) and start reconnecting with your hobbies and your interests. I think keeping yourself occupied and finding new things that make you happy can really improve your situation. So...learn to play an instrument, start painting, learn how to skate, start singing, do a volunteer, whatever you like. In depression, we tend to think we are boring people with no interests but if we analize ourselves a bit we can see we have so much to give to people. Lots of love and support for everyone 💕

    So glad to know you're doing things to take care of yourself 🖤. I have depression as well and it's challenging at times to get through even one day. I'm happy for you while watching this. You're glowing 😊.
    One tip for me is taking a shower. When in a funk, something as basic as personal hygiene seems impossible. When I do take a hot shower, it does have a cathartic effect. All the gunk and negativity literally and figuratively gets washed down the drain and you emerge clean, fresh, and ready to begin again. Love you, hon 😊

    I have a gratitude journal, and when things are rough I write 5 things each day to be thankful for.

    This is so very helpful. Because sometimes I feel like I'm stuck or I'm in a rut. I try meditation, going for long walks getting some fresh air. The one thing I enjoy when I'm feeling down is going on a nature walk. Go into the woods and enjoy the beauty of nature. I also find solace in painting, drawing coloring. To me those things help me a lot. Missed you as well. Hope to see another one of your videos soon. Love you!

      So sorry you are going through a real rough time, sometimes it feels like everything happens at once. I know deep breathing helps and self help, but besides my very deep faith; I make up stories in my head about myself in a different world with different scenarios, it's great you can go anywhere, be with anyone, say all you need to say, anything at all. It's a get away trick to relieve you weary mind a while. Also if you have a pet or an old favorite stuffed animal hug or pet them. I am all alone, my only child a son, the love of my live suddenly died and I used all of these things all the time, I sleep with an old teddy bear that is well loved, it comforts me, and of cause my faith. Sending love your way. 🌻 ❤️

    Forcing yourself to smile, really does help to lighten your mood. And I find listening to music I love also helps. Another thing that helps lift my mood is getting enough sleep. If I'm tired, I'm cranky & everything seems to go down hill from there. Even a lil nap will help.

    Ty for the video def been needing this lately it’s like one day on depressed af to the point where I stare at my razor blades contemplating going down the street and the next day it’s like I’m comfortable but the ppl I care about are down n I do my best to keep everyone’s glass full that I care for but we all end up in our dark caves all day. I’ve always been told to do the positive affirmations but w me they always end up w me in tears or calling myself the absolute worst things anyone has thought of or couldn’t even imagine. I normally have like the office or a show that I love on to jus have good background n make me chuckle when my guard is down n that normally helps or I make a song or write a story or a poem or go for a walk. Point is I’ve def missed your vids and I’m so glad you’re back w something like this when a lot of us need it. I have to send this to someone I really care about that’s going through a lot atm. Ty so much!! You’re and always have been amazing!!

    Maybe I have a 6th tip for everyone who need one more:
    It could be sound very very stupid especially to write this below your vids BUT
    for me, and its very my own personal opinion and I dont want to hurt somebody,
    I've had reaally bad depression times in my life and one step that helps ME to feel better is to thinking about what I wearing and most importanly what Im thinking and feeling when Im wearing it.
    Im a goth too - in some way, i guees ^^"
    But you cant deny that most people think about gothic style sh*ty things like "they wear black clothes because they want to die"
    Of course we dont think this but I think in some way it has an influence of ourself what is connected to a color.
    What Im trying to say is, even I you only do it when your alone, at day, when you laying in your coffin to sleep, try to wear some colorful clothes. Its because in a subconcious way color means happy. I guess its like the smile thing. Even If you dont belive in it our brain needs in some way color to feel good.
    Like I said, its my personal opinion and I wearing most time black things too, but, I also wear blue and red stuff. And yeah of course you might wear already colorful things because to be a goth doesnt mean to wear only black, I know that xD
    Its just an advise if nothing else help. When your at a point you feel that it cant be better, forget the gothic style for some time. When your veeery depressed you shouldn't think about death.
    Thats all.
    I love you, be yourself and take care of yourself.

    So many of your videos are so insightful and helpful to me and so many people... Thank you so much. This video I know o will be watching many times-- this is a wonderful help and a reminder of how to keep depression under control rather than the other way around. The panic disorder one, I am also VERY happy to hear you will be making as I know that one will also be a big help. Your "the power of makeup" video is another favorite of mine. That one helped me out a lot in feeling confident in myself. You are a wonderful and like I said insightful person. You are really helping a lot of people and your videos give people a sense that they are not alone in these kinds of things that are so close to the heart.     While watching this I drew a quick sketch in colored pencils of a flower on a Lily pad surrounded by vines and tiny flowers, and then inked in "I am fine" in red ink.

    I'm sharing this with my mum, a month ago she went to a hospital that is for mental health, stayed a little over a week and was diagnosed with bi polar so I feel like this will help her out a bit. Thanks for sharing, hope you are feeling a little happier now, I've missed your videos :)
