Thomas the Tank Engine, Edward and Gordon continue to delight and fascinate children - and parents - even though most of them have probably never seen a steam train in action! The little engine's creator would have been proud of his undiminished popularity and in this talk by Ian McArdle, we learn a little about the unassuming man who made it all possible.
