I have a 823 and I can’t describe how perfect this pen is for everyday use. Right out of the box-not perfect, but i swear they have a “break in” period..after that, the most perfect pen one could own.
I do not have a custom 823, but I LOVE my Asvine V126s!!! I've got all 3 nib sizes and all 6 colors! They work amazing right out of the box and are some of my favorites!
Although my v126 has the best m nib ever! The grip section bites into the tips of my fingers So I need to grab it near the treads. Amazing pen. Easy to clean. Fun to ink.
Thanks for your review! New subscriber ☺️ and fellow enthusiast lol I have both pens, and the Pilot Custom 823 is known for having a unique nib and writing experience. Some people likebme really love it, others dont prefer it as much, and that's normal like any preferences haha It was some pleasant feedback but is smooth, not scratchy, making it very unique and interesting to write with in my opinion. The difference if a pen is scratchy is it catches on the page, like scratching the paper. Feedback might be more like writing with a pencil. I think these are two different pens in writing experience and feel in hand. Pilot section is thicker, a bit shorter, and the taper on the section is more soft whereas Asvine 126 has a very steep sudden taper and is longer and thinner for the section. Otherwise the dimensions etc are comparable, both nice and I enjoy writing with both. For me personally the Pilot Custom 823 is my fave pen of all time. I would add the main main difference you notice all the time is the nib - pilot has a gold nib and imo is a lovely writing experience. So getting the 126 shows the dimensions maybe but writing experience very different (but also good) I have had Pelikan m800 and 1000, personally preferred 1000 as softer and smoother for me personally. The 800 was very very stiff from memory (I hope I remembered the right way round). Now I'm curious to try the m600.... Ooof more $ 😂
Thank you for sharing your experience. I really enjoy the way the 823 writes, when it writes. As I said I got it from resale and there were some issues with the pen that I couldn't identify clearly, but somehow the ink flow was not very consistent and skipped quite a bit during long writing sessions. I now have a 743 which has a very similar dimension to the 823 but has a falcon nib, which writes like a dream lol. The Asvine can't shake its stiffness from the steel nib, which definitely writes differently.
I have owned two Custom 823s that I loved. And made the mistake of selling them. I just ordered two V126 pens and some extra medium nibs to grind into small itallics. I'm looking forward to trying them out

Glad you're going to try the V126s. Hope you like them!
Also if you loose a 35€ pen is going to be different than loosing a 300+ one
Very valid point!
I prefer moonman T1
