Great tutorial. I altered it a bit by tapping into the wires themselves with a couple of small red (20-22 awg) posi-taps I bought on Amazon, which is way easier than trying to shove the wires into the molex connector.
Hey guys, Ari's right on. Just to note, I was having difficulty securing the pins in the connector as even after securing it the ground kept coming loose everytime it moved (even as I was putting it back). what I found worked the best was the j28 rj-11 connector from blend mount.com because it gave you different options to connect the wires as you have to wedge them in to the square holes......on my M, I found the power cable (the red) was good but the ground ( the black) needed a longer stem to remain secure so having the option to switch them actually worked really well because for a while I would connect them and as I was putting things back together the ground would loosen...... thanks again Ari
When you turn off your car does it turn off? I drive the BMW M2 and when I turn off the car there is still power into the cigarette outlet so that’s I want to do the mirror mount but wondering if it shuts off when the car shuts off totally.
Ari, or anyone with help....Any different advice for a Max 360 into a 2014 BMW 428? Don't have detector yet but thought I would ask. Should I get the kit from mount.com (suggestion in other comment) or will the kit you suggested work (Radar Mount)? thanks
Scotty Guitar man in theory it should, however the wires may be different colors in your car. You’d need to figure out what wire is 12v, and which one is ground. Shouldn’t be too too hard.

@@negotiationguides Thanks Ari for the response. As I did exactly what you mention in your video using the small pins I'll try again tomorrow as it didn't work for me. Someone also recommended trying the red block above the black one using black wire into purple/black and red wire into purple/white. I'll give that a try too

Its stuff to see and manage my fat fingers within that area, Tomorrow I will try again as well as pushing it in as deep as i can. - using your proposed way. Quick question, both wires go into the black (bottom) connector?
Thining about doing this for my max 360 but when I think about not being able to hit the mute button which is located on the original cigar lighter power adapter I just wonder dang I’m gonna have to wait until the alert noise goes away. I’m gonna search if they make a hard wire power cord with a mute switch or something. Do you think the radar weight will over time strain the rear view mirror support? Either way I’m gonna have to do it in some way-can’t imagine a day without it, especially driving a M4

Hardwired my Uniden R3 today. Used the same wires and it worked like a charm in my 17 M3.

Mike Rubenstein it should work, but I believe it’s of a lower quality than Mount.com ... you’ve got to be careful not to break the thin wiretaps.
Where did you get the wire diagram for where to add the wire to??
Will this same wire and voltage work on a uniden r3 also have a m4 and dont want to have to do major wiring as its under warranty, thanks

How do you mute the false alarm
Kevin Richardson at this point I’ve had to mute Laser alerts altogether 😔 ... too many radar cruise controls
