Seraphine's story in the K/DA goes like this: She produces music as her passion and posts videos online while working in a coffee shop. She is constantly pressured by her father to leave the Coffee shop and her music "hobby" to find a real job and real aspirations for success. One day Evelynn sends Ahri Seraphine's cover of POP/STARS and Ahri calls her to work on a project that ends up being MORE.
This reminds me of the song Musician by Porter Robinson. The MV is basically about how he needs to get a job and how music isn't going to take you anywhere. Definitely a good song and good music video. LOVE it
I actually liked her marketing and the adorable selfie/portrait artwork....until they brought mental illness into the equation. Something about a multi-billion-dollar company paying writers to pretend to be a mentally ill young woman, to promote their video game and a $30 skin just *really* repulses me. Especially as a real human who suffers from real mental illnesses. That being said K/DA is love, K/DA is life and Evelynn can step on me any day 🥵
So with the dance scene's they animated it 4 - 5 times to be different for each girl. So they didn't just animated the dance once then copy and paste it! This is why if you look closer, Kai'sa hits the beats on que every time, because in the lore she's the dancer and why someone like Evelynn who isn't a dancer is slightly behind by 1 count. Same goes with Ahri and Akali, They are dancing different from the other girls because that's how they would move if they were real people, They aren't in sync, they're not perfect
Really ? Because the problem I had with the animations is that it's too perfect/smooth... I don't really know how to verbalize it but yeah some moves feel "off" like uncanny valley vibe you know?

Each girl was animated separately instead of copying and pasting the same model dancing to make it look like actual people instead of robots in perfect sync but since they’re 3D models it looks a little uncanny so maybe that’s why it was a little weird in certain scenes. If you watch the dance parts frame by frame you can see each girl is doing it a little different so props to the animators for going for authenticity
@@Chiisanii yeah I know I am a fan of kpop but as much as they train they couldn’t replicate a 3D model with the same motions copy and pasted multiple times
I think he meant that they can put the same animation on different backgrounds and make cool seamless transitions while irl you have to refilm the dance in each location
@@yellopechen I think what the OP meant with copying and pasting is not about Jordan’s reaction on 9:18, but about how the choreography is animated. So, because the animation used mo-cap technology (where you record a person wearing mo-cap suit to trace their movement, like how they made Polar Express, Smaug's animation in The Hobbit, Avatar, etc) you would think they only had 1 person dancing once and then used that 1 base to trace all 5 characters because that's easier and save more money. But the reality is, each character used 5 different dancers as their bases, hence although they're trained to dance in sync, they still have their own unique differences.
Man the shot with Evelynn where her glasses flash before the screen turns bright is one of the most underrated scenes. I love how we see the glasses while the rest of the screen is dark so when the screen lights up we’re already focused on her. I think it fits Evelynn super well since she is a succubus and likes all the attention. It’s such a small detail yet fits so well with her character, aswell as being a visually pleasing shot.
8:38 so one other thing about this scene is the fact that Evelyn sang "what's higher than the top that's me" which is interesting because you'd think a throne sits on the top but it's actually one floor below, which then sets up that feet transition even further. MIND BLOWN.
The way they build up Seraphine's entrance by having her singing few notes on the first part, and showing her humming in a different room. That was sooo thrilling after all the build up they've worked on with this character. Her K/DA lore is actually decent though. Just a small artist who adores K/DA and try to work hard so someday she can sing with them (also struggle with mental illness so K/DA songs are what pulled her from the dark). Also the models' upper legs/thighs are too long to look realistic when dancing! You may notice that Akali is the shortest and actually the least unsettling to watch because she looks the most human. 100% correct and agree. Animation can make everything seamless, but also tons of complexity to make everything matched. The modelling, the shader, lighting transition animation, color, material, all of that have to be in a correct order of layers in the pipeline, where in real life we get that instantly. both real life and animation have their own unique complexity, benefit and disadvantage. Planning, and storyboard are the key to get an amazing yet effective and efficient video.
tbh there really are some dance movements that doesn't really feel right, their first MV 's (*POP/STARS*) choreo and dance animation was way more better because of it being motion captured.. *More* on the other hand was made with a lot of issues due to COVID-19 so it turned out all animated, nevertheless they still gave us a beautiful song and props to artist's who made this possible even with the pandemic on going
Am i the only one, who get's emotionally touched by seeing music/film/production professionals get as hyped as we players do ? like, to us it's important and hyping because we know the characters and love the game, it has emotional value to us, but seeing someone enjoy it as much and getting hyped, soledly from the music and editing of these animated music videos, literally touches me so deeply..
Storyboarder and layout artist here, I can't imagine people thinking animation doesn't require editing lmaoo! Do they think the computer just makes it automatically hahaha. And aw yis don't you love these beautiful perfect match cuts you know you love it ;D. That "Get em" transition in the beginning with Kali was sooo cool.
9:07 has got be my favorite transition(s) it's 3 transitions in a short span of time. First Evelynn is laying down and the camera is the one moving horizontally. Next you have the focus Kai'sa spinning while the camera is also spinning. Then it transitions the camera in a vertical/portraits aspect but the focus, the characters are upside down initially then they start dancing. It feels like a roller coaster ride.
Animation doesn't look motion captured, its impressive that its hand animated but maybe thats why it would look off to some people. And also Akali distinctively lags behinds in the chereo which I found charming
Seraphine tells a joke* Akali: “hahaha your so funny!” *pushes Seraphine off the building** Thank you for the likes ❤️ this is the most likes in a comment I have ever had
@@Milo_atw I agree. I think that's what throws me off a bit. Even reading the comments that the dancers are slightly different, they should've made them more different. Maybe by changing their relative position among themselves. Their bodies are very similar too. So it all look very artificial.
@@LolaKlein to be fair it’s a video game we’re talking about here. making the female champions skinny and pretty in a cute band is gonna make them money
So this is what I was looking for. I've seen a music producer react, a rapper react, a kpop producer react, normal people react, I just wanted to know what a video editor thought of those bomb ass visuals. K/DA stands at the peak for sure.
The "be like live action" was amazing in PopStars too, as you can clearly see the 4 don't have the SAME dance moves as each other. It really comes across as 4 different people doing the choreography. it's not a prevalent here but still noticeable in a couple spots.
@@JordanOrme I've since seen people saying this is a progression like, they are getting better at dancing, in canon. That... is another level of weird detail that is cool too!
I don't usually comment but damn, this is actually the reaction video I've been looking for. Very informative. Literally, best reaction video on TH-cam!
The animation is fire. But I was OBSESSED with seraphine’s verse. Its just so good. The singer did a really good job, and it lined up super well with the animation. The fact that she starts out soft then rises perfectly going with the animation and her kda storyline as she was suffering from depression. the fact that the song is about not needing to rise though the ranks but seraphine’s story and verse directly contradict that. The fact that her voice is quite airy thoughout the entire thing, hgihlighting her imperfections. And, if im not mistaken shes singing in my second, and my grandparents and parents native, launguage of madarin. Good stuff all around.
I like all the different takes on this, I'm on a reaction binge and you're pointing out things I never even noticed and the comments are full of people pointing out so much cool stuff.
Alternative Title: Music Editor Simping over K/DA "MORE" for 13 minutes It's just a joke. Not tryna make fun of ya. I think your work is amazing, dude.
Wonderful observation! I really hope that they will have more music videos for the rest of the mini album. The Kai'Sa part is good as well. The lyrics saying that she is a rebel actually fits her. She was taken by the Void and it turns and corrupts everyone's mind for their bidding. Kai'Sa, as mentioned, fought the Voidlings and other monsters in it, evolving from them, gaining weapons, and finally escaping.
yeah, the dancing... I think it's hard to grasp the timing of each move and the weight shift of each, when you don't dance or haven't at least watched a lot of dancing videos. The snappy movement makes me think that they're probably animated by animators for games. Especially in fighting games you need expressive, short, snappy animations. So that each animation started by an input feels satisfying to the player, otherwise it feels heavy and laggy to most. Probably another consequence by the pandemic, relying on inhouse talent as much as possible, even with such new releases of songs.
That moment when you realize that fictional groups to sell other in-game items and skins for a game company makes better music and music videos than some of the msm out there. Gorillaz ran so that K/DA could fly.
Ohhh I see the resemblance and inspiration. Gorillaz are the OGs of these fictional groups and the most popular so far amongst them But I think there's someone earlier than them like... Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band?
I used to think that the choreography was strange, but after seeing the choreography being done by dancers, I think the animation in this part is very good.
With Seraphine: her story is that she got pulled from being an indie songwriter into stardom by K/DA, hence why she starts the song in her bedroom and then gets lifted out of it during the bridge.
RE: 5:50 For their POP/STARS music video, the creators actually said that they intentionally had their dance moves be ~slightly~ off mark in order to give it a real life feel of dancers not being exact on queue nor perfectly in sync with each other. The imperfections make it more believable and "real"
Honestly, I think the main reason the dance looks weird is their proportions. Don't get me wrong I love love love how they look, but the more movement they do, the more obvious it becomes they're not shaped quite right lol. Like, kinda like the uncanny valley for animation.
I like you. You get animation most people don't understand the editing principles in animation and how everything is pre planned. Your reaction is hilarious too.
4:57 I think I know what's off about the dancing. It is too smooth, un-humanly smooth. Try to get professional dancers to do this, I doubt they can get that smooth. (Have yet to watch real people do this dance.)

pop stars is not motion captured. this is just different studio.
pop stars - forticshe studio
more - axis studio
@@dyo42 pop stars was mo capped...this is also probably mo capped...animators need it as reference atleast - and then they clean it up.
3 seconds into song: *pauses*
Me: ooh this is gonna be good lol
Am i the only one, who get's emotionally touched by seeing music/film/production professionals get as hyped as we players do ?
like, to us it's important and hyping because we know the characters and love the game, it has emotional value to us, but seeing someone enjoy it as much and getting hyped, soledly from the music and editing of these animated music videos, literally touches me so deeply..
4:38 If you look closely, Ahri is behind the pink smoke and you can see her multiple tails turn to 1 tail as she comes closer to the camera.
ma qween soyeon killin akali's part is what im livin for folks
UGH SAME
Am not tall you’re just smol
everyone’s talking about kda
but what about the cameraman-
👁👄👁
did u mean the animators? 👁️👄👁️
it was a joke xD
but like imagine this was live action and somebody had to film all of that
that’s what I meant lmao
It must be hard to do the camera movements 🌟👄🌟
I think all staff and singer make this mv really great
@@joejerangkung cameraman need a string like spodarmen to swing aroung
Storyboarder and layout artist here, I can't imagine people thinking animation doesn't require editing lmaoo! Do they think the computer just makes it automatically hahaha. And aw yis don't you love these beautiful perfect match cuts you know you love it ;D. That "Get em" transition in the beginning with Kali was sooo cool.
i ADORE that you nearly started crying after hearing like 10 seconds of the song. legend!
Finally a reactor who knows what he is talking about.

"tHIS IS WHAT YOU CAN DO WHEN YOU HAVE MONEY." -Jordan Orme, 2020
9:07 has got be my favorite transition(s) it's 3 transitions in a short span of time. First Evelynn is laying down and the camera is the one moving horizontally. Next you have the focus Kai'sa spinning while the camera is also spinning. Then it transitions the camera in a vertical/portraits aspect but the focus, the characters are upside down initially then they start dancing. It feels like a roller coaster ride.
2:33 I like how no one has noticed that you can hear a motorcycle pass in the drop it makes it so much more fantastic
"There's something about the dancing that just feels off"
Translation: Ahri has exaggerated boob physics while dancing
Don’t expose her
Animation doesn't look motion captured, its impressive that its hand animated but maybe thats why it would look off to some people. And also Akali distinctively lags behinds in the chereo which I found charming
I saw Jordan's comment on the Music Video
SO I CHECKED AND YESS waiting now sksskkwbjaghng

Akali: “hahaha your so funny!”
*pushes Seraphine off the building**
Thank you for the likes ❤️ this is the most likes in a comment I have ever had

@@legent6755 well yea but people are making it even more better joke. I love it.
That is weird joke man
The problem with the dancing is that it's all did with a computer so it's too perfect, it's the same... But the animation... THE ANIMATION, BRUH
none of them are actually in sync, they all have slightly different animations
@@nexusisntavailable maybe, but it still looks a bit too perfect
I think we all can say it look weird but you have to notice that is sync to the rithm of the lyrics and not of the percussion.
So cool!
@@JordanOrme I've since seen people saying this is a progression like, they are getting better at dancing, in canon. That... is another level of weird detail that is cool too!
Homeboy literally could not get past Akali's first part lmao
Soyeon NEVER disappoints ☺️
Good stuff all around.
giving it AAAALLLLLLL
OMG I swear I was on my way to your channel to request this
YAY!
"this is what you can do when you have MONEY" Heck yh, love your videos. Keep it coming
HAHA thanks for watching!
Will you check out the other virtual songs by Riot aswell?
Giants by True Damage and Popstars by KDA?
Super hyped about this video first!
Please do!!!
omg giants is literally one of the best especially the live performanceeeee
I'd love to!
Don't skimp in the OG Pentakill. Mortal Reminder anyone?
Akali: *says the first verse
Jordan: *Best produced song already!*

Alternative Title: Music Editor Simping over K/DA "MORE" for 13 minutes
It's just a joke. Not tryna make fun of ya. I think your work is amazing, dude.
1:42 HE'S SO REAL, HE WAS ONE SECOND IN AND ALREADY GOT TEARS 👊😔💝
Wonderful observation! I really hope that they will have more music videos for the rest of the mini album.
The Kai'Sa part is good as well. The lyrics saying that she is a rebel actually fits her. She was taken by the Void and it turns and corrupts everyone's mind for their bidding. Kai'Sa, as mentioned, fought the Voidlings and other monsters in it, evolving from them, gaining weapons, and finally escaping.
Yeah it explained that in the vid
Jordan: **explains about transitions being used in perfect time**
Me who still use windows movie maker for video projects: *yes I completely agree.*
I feel like I'm enrolled in a film/editing school whenever I watch his reaction videos
Yo this reaction is so good? The analysis, the personality, the music, the knowing the characters names, the league lore, the video edits. Wow
Finally someone who noticed that the dancing part is so bugged
I really can't tell when he's cringing or being amazed loll
yeah, the dancing...
Well said!
How heartwhelming it is, seeing a Professional Editor reacting in my favorite game's pop group, K/DA💖 btw proud Filipino here🇵🇭☝️

Cringe
@@clickme283nah
That moment when you realize that fictional groups to sell other in-game items and skins for a game company makes better music and music videos than some of the msm out there.
Gorillaz ran so that K/DA could fly.
Ohhh I see the resemblance and inspiration. Gorillaz are the OGs of these fictional groups and the most popular so far amongst them
But I think there's someone earlier than them like... Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band?
I’m a storyboard artist for animation and it’s cool to see your take on this as a live action editor!! Peace dude, love your vids
“Kali the girl, kali go grrrr"
"eeeehhhhhh~"
I used to think that the choreography was strange, but after seeing the choreography being done by dancers, I think the animation in this part is very good.
With Seraphine: her story is that she got pulled from being an indie songwriter into stardom by K/DA, hence why she starts the song in her bedroom and then gets lifted out of it during the bridge.
I was waiting for this! Let's go ☺️😍
YAY!
ngl I really hoped you'd react to this since the editing was bomb but not really sure since this is a virtual group but THANK YOU 😭❤️❤️❤️
:)
FINALLY!
SOME GUYS NOTICES EVERYTHING AND CLEARLY!
RE: 5:50 For their POP/STARS music video, the creators actually said that they intentionally had their dance moves be ~slightly~ off mark in order to give it a real life feel of dancers not being exact on queue nor perfectly in sync with each other. The imperfections make it more believable and "real"
The fact that there are ups and downs transitions in this video because it happened in KDA BUILDING is so good..
“This is what you can do, if you have money” haha. True
5:20: You'd be surprised how the real dancers and choreographer of this song dance even more surreal xD
4:11 Jordan: aallllllll

Kudos to the animators and the directors. Good job
Edit: and all the people behind the scenes of making this masterpiece

Admit it... This company makes the best music and they need to be noticed more

Honestly, I think the main reason the dance looks weird is their proportions. Don't get me wrong I love love love how they look, but the more movement they do, the more obvious it becomes they're not shaped quite right lol. Like, kinda like the uncanny valley for animation.
facts
I like you. You get animation most people don't understand the editing principles in animation and how everything is pre planned. Your reaction is hilarious too.
