- After a decade of hard work, the Port of Aberdeen opened their massive expansion project, South Harbour. For five years, Signal had the privilege of working with the port recording the story of this challenging, important project and its many milestones - from dredging to fabrication and construction, in turn gathering an incredible volume of footage. This mini-documentary reflects on the hard work and dedication that went into achieving the ground-breaking project.

As the lead engineer on this job I just want to say I am very proud of my team
Well done to all involved! Definitely an achievement to be proud of. The port looks like a decent port for the Queen Elizabeth class to Moore at!
I played a small part in the early aerial photo work, good to see the finish line. Looking forward to filming the tall ships 2025.
The ship in the foreground in this clip is the Deep Explorer. I was on board when they were filming this. I had no idea.
Thank you for posting this video, something I would of never hear about in the national news!
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it!
As a civil engineer and Projects Planning Consultant, this is one of the most magnificent and impressive marvels of modern engineering achieved. It was no easy feat to achieve, and all who participated must be congratulated from concept, planning to implementation, and commissioning. The people who operate the port daily must be proud to be part of this projects new facilities.
As an Ulster Scot I have an interest in both Home Countries. It looks like the team has achieved maximum effect for minimum impact. A success for everyone to be very, very proud of.
Fantastic!!!
That looks just great.
Frankie Boils favorite city, ain't that right Jimmy!
I remember when the Noble Innovator first docked, walking over the Bridge of and just seeing these massive legs as tall as any tower block in the city creeping along the seafront just peaking above the sand dunes and being absolutely perplexed as to what it was until I passed the new harbour on the train a few days later. It absolutely towered over the city for weeks!
Best of luck! My hope is you all get the people of Aberdeen a path towards good long term employ fer Scots. I do not subscribe to net zero and hope that commerce and JOBS fer you all. Looks terribly expensive. As a Californian that lives by the sea so any town connected to the water is awesome! Stay right sized
