  • A visit to the Bluebell Railway on Saturday 21st during the beer festival event over the weekend from the 20th - 22nd September 2024. This visit was to see not only a steam & diesel hauled two-train operation, but to see a rail tour (operated by UK Railtours) with three GBRf locos.
The tour was mostly hauled by Class 66 No. 66792 “Collaboration” from Nottingham down along the East Coast main line where it was joined by two ex British Railways Class 73s Nos. 73128 “The Kent and East Sussex Railway” and 73119 “Paul Taylor” takes the tour from Acton Sidings to East Grinstead to come onto the heritage line. And later a triple-header of two 73s piloted the 66 from the heritage line to as far Acton Sidings where the 66 take over for the return journey to Nottingham.
The locos roster for the beer festival was the newly built London, Brighton & South Coast Railway H2 Class No. 32424 “Beachy Head” and joined along side by British Railways Class 33 No. 33111 (visiting from the Swanage Railway) making it last weekend in operation before withdraw for overhaul.
