That bathroom walls and floors turned out beautiful, almost like you carved them out of a solid block of stone. The color of the walls and floors go well with the wood, but also the stone walls. I can't wait for the next video with that bathroom fixtures and heater. As always, excellent work all!

As I was watching, I kept thinking that the people who designed this technique must have been sadists, lol. I would never have the patience to apply a surface like this. And you still have to add another two layers of waterproofing?! But you will be glad when it’s done and it will last you a lifetime (right?). A few days of pain for years of enjoyment. A good trade, I’d say.😊

Am I wrong thinking that back wall has no waterproofing so any water on the floor could wick up that back hemp wall? Maybe the floor slopes away so it would never be a problem?

Comment faîtes-vous pour traiter les angles rentrants (comme dans la douche) ? Pour avoir réalisé ,il y a plusieurs années, un colombage séparant plusieurs pans de murs de couleurs différentes réalisés à l'enduit chaux, un professionnel m'avait dit que pouvais "serrer" l'enduit jusqu'à 1 mois après; avantage: pas de fissures entre le colombage et l'enduit.Et ça s'est vérifié... Hâte de voir la suite..
Nous ne sommes pas experts, mais d'après nous la différence entre le deux matériaux réside tout simplement dans leurs recettes. Le tadelakt étant composé notamment de la fameuse chaux de Marrakech. Pour les angles rentrants on va jusqu'on peut et on passe ensuite le doigt pour finir. On pourra encore légèrement poncer l'enduit par la suite si besoin!
We thought of mounting the stone on a drill at some point, but it seemed too easy 😂 actually the gesture and the force applied on the stone is subtle and I don't know if it could be replicated by a powertool..

Taillé plus grand que votre pierre, c’est beaucoup plus rapide. Mais je dis peut être des bêtises car la texture n’est pas très détaillée en vidéo. Peut être pouvez vous faire un essai ?

How are you managing to do the renovations your self. According to a CIL(A) building permission you have to nominate a firm that will do and sign off in the work, and doing it yourself is not given as an option.
There is a list of interventions that can be done by the owner. However, we did submit a permesso di costuire and all the intervention that needed to be done by profesionals were done by profesionals :) hence the plumbers installing our toilets, taps, and boiler!
we are not looking to get a smooth finish with the float but do leave a minimal amount of plaster, which is done with an inclination of the float, correct us if we are wrong ☺️

In a previous episode, I asked if consideration was given to crack control. In my poorly worded question, I was referring to the walls and not the floor assembly. Since I am unfamiliar with the multi-step and layer material you are installing, I assume this material takes movement very well and there is not much shrinkage. Great color choice and great painstaking work. You have to be relieved to have this step behind you.
Sorry if we misunderstood! 🤭 The cracks from both the walls and floor are managed with a fiber glass mesh placed in the first layers of the plaster. Then we also placed a thin cork stripes against the base of the fermacell walls to give a few milimiters to the plasters for expansion and movements

If you would use your trial flattered instead of the edge you'd get a smoother finish

This reminds me of when I prepare my wood panels for oil painting. I use traditional gesso and I have to sand it smooth after every few layers.
