►This build has been super fun for me and it dishes out a ton of damage. I'd suggest using it if you have power boosts 2-3 so you have some added survivability to make up for not having iceborne. The plus sides of not slotting in iceborne is you can bring more damage. It helped me get a flawless Thrax kill and it felt good not having iceborne during the process.

Personally, as a war pike main ever since I started, I like using the Nayzaga pike. The life steal doesn't apply until you get a wound, wich is a bummer, but once you do you have a source of health that can really save your butt at times.
Currently, I'm using the Malkarion pike (with the Nayzaga bond) with concussive and executioner.
I'm using the Malkarion helmet with Grace for Grace 6, the Quillshot chest for Savagery 6, quillshot gloves with wild frenzy (my pike also has wild frenzy), and the Karabak greaves with discipline for some conditioning and to get some use out of wild frenzy.
The conditioning helps against the pike's tendency to swallow your stamina. Disciplie and wild frenzy help with it's slow attacks, and barbed with savagery allows you to capitalize on the Nayzaga pike's lifesteal.
Of course, the build could work far better if I replace the karabak greave with something else.
Pretty sure grace is garbage also your build seem useless when you could just use iceborne for better effects also your build doesnt have much damage just fast attack speed which isnt even that fast..

I replaced the gloves with reza gloves, the greaves with riftstalker greaves, and the helm with the embermane helm.
Now, I have barbed 6, sacagery 6, zeal 6, grace 6, evasive fury 6, and conduit 6.

For ice borne, if you don’t care about preparatory like me, you can switch legs for boreus and put in savagery, then switch it in the pike
For anyone that wants to make this build with Iceborne but don't have the cells/gear and/or don't have it maxed out I made a variant that also works in the same way:
War pike is the exact same but the cells, cells on pike are conditioning +3 and Iceborne +3
Helmet: Rezakiri with conduit (rather than catalyst) and savagery +3
Chest piece is the exact same
Gloves: Torg with overpower and rage +3
Boots: Boreus with Iceborne and savagery +3
Lantern is personal choice but again, I used conduit rather than catalyst bc of personal choice, hope this helps.
@Joshua Huff When you learn how to use it properly it's hella strong, but since it causes wound damage most people don't realize of the potential it has, that's why most people spam the strong attack like mindless idiots and that really anoys me :/
dude, imo, I think that the amp that gives wound damage on hits is amazing! Plus you can use the wounding tonic. I use chain blades for fast damage but whatever you do you

Honestly I don’t really like playing war pike. Should I try to get into it? I’m not sure since I mostly play chain blades so it would be a change of pace.

I'm a chainblades main myself, but yeah I would atleast give it a shot. I feel like part of this game is trying all the weapons and mastering more than just one. I'd say pike's can take advantage of the amps that define this escalation the easiest, which i would argue make it more interesting and fun.

My buddy plays WP and I play Hammer, and that combo is nasty. Stagger, stun, and interrupt all match, wound and KO constantly, he's great at hitting monsters out of combos/flight/etc

Love the new escalation, its getting easier the more I play, almost finished maxing it out

*@Dauntless* (OhDough if you could pass this up the chain of command that'd be swell): In the future Esc can you make the tier 8 give us 5 Wrathwort each Patrol hunt instead of orbs? I am unable to get rid of my 3k Blaze orbs, but I can see myself chewing through 3000 shrooms.

Part damage is yellow.
Core damage is white.
With cells/amps that do xx% of damage does that mean both because it does specify. (I.e. predator+6 does +35% damage)

Precision is crazy. I've gotten 57 stacks with one other pike player. That's 114% extra damage and we coulda got more..

The new boss is hands down the most easiest, It took me literally like 2 matches to understand him and most of the time he barely even gets aethercharged. No need for nerfs, just practise.

i was thinking of a twin suns build for this escalation that uses twin suns counter which does multiple hits and the amp that does flat 200 wound damage. i wonder if you get 200 damage per projectile on counter.

Hey dough I've encountered a neat glitch! I used defensive revive to rez a team mate and got hit by a behemoth. Once I finished the revive I realized I retained the defensive revive perk which means I was unstaggerable and took 50% less damage. I run iceborne 6, because I'm a pleb, so I had a 80% total damage reduction while being unstaggerable making me super tough. I activated this twice now so I wonder if anyone else can.
Will strikers perform better than chainblades in umbral escalation? If so, can someone provide a good build for either?

No because it's an escalation build, so if you use it on other stuff the game will bug out and you won't do any damage.
