Hello. I recently came across this video on your TH-cam channel of the Tasmanian Transport Museum and I really enjoyed it, especially the shots you got of M5 back in October 2013. I was on the loco this day, I was just starting off training as a fireman at the time and a few months later I began working on the M class Pacific at the Don River Railway. I would really like to put together a little video of M5 from this day to go on my TH-cam channel as it was rather special as one side of the locomotive was dressed up as a French engine for filming purposes. I managed to get some shots of the locomotive shunting in the morning but I wasn’t able to take any footage of it out on the track. I am just wondering, is there anyway, could I please include a few of your shots in this video? You will definitely be acknowledged for this. Thank you so much, I really appreciate it. Best wishes Rowan.

Hello Rowan, Glad you enjoyed the TTM video. I'm quite happy for you to use a few clips from this video to assist you in making your own TH-cam video. Please credit my footage to Casper DVD Railway & Tramway Videos, thank you. I am assuming you are able to download my TH-cam video and obtain the particular clips you want to use? Regards, Simon

@@casperdvd-themelbournetramchan Hi Simon. Great to hear from you. Thank you so much for allowing me to include a few of the shots in the video about M5, I really appreciate it. Yep I should be able to download the videos from TH-cam, it was really nice to look back on this day from 2013 as it was a very successful time with the locomotive. I don’t know if you have heard but M5 is currently undergoing some overhaul work at the Transport Museum as they are getting ready for an extension of their operations on part of the old Hobart suburban line between Glenorchy and Chigwell. M5’s wheels are still in Victoria being refurbished at the moment but it is anticipated that they will return to Tasmania in the next few months. Thank you so much again for allowing me to publish a few of your shots, I will definitely make sure to give you an acknowledgment wherever the videos appear. Talk soon. Best wishes Rowan.

@@railmediaproductions3677 No worries at all, Rowan. I hope your video goes well, please send me the link to it once it is posted. I lived in Tassie from 2002 - 2013 and have travelled behind both M4 & M5, nice locos but I always thought they were notorious at slipping, even the MA with it's smaller driving wheels didn't strike me as the most sure-footed machine! I have some happy memories of steam on the North-East line as well as the 1997 Emu Bay Centenary Celebrations with their wonderful Dubs 4-8-0 which I was lucky enough to cab ride down the Emu Bay line. Regards, Simon

@@casperdvd-themelbournetramchan Hi Simon. Good to hear from you again. It sounds wonderful with the cab ride that you managed to get on the Dubs locomotive down the EBR, it is hoped that this engine might be able to run again in the future as there isn’t much wrong with it, the main issue was the connecting rod on the drivers side which suffered a failure back in 2007 but everything else seems to be in good working order. We are having a big day at the Don River Railway tomorrow which will involve the use of the Fowler locomotive with the set of historic carriages, we can’t wait for the event to get underway in the morning. Will definitely send you through the link to the M5 video as soon as it is ready to go. Best wishes Rowan.
