  • What are the best spots for kitesurfing in Cyprus?
As i'm living in Limassol I will talk mostly about south area which i use to go. By the way - Cyprus is an island as well as is an independant country separated in two parts. The northern part is not recognized by anybody except Turkey and is occupied by Turkey. So if you going to come to kitesurf in Cyprus - you will end up in Southern Cyprus where people speak Greek and English.
My most preferable spot for kitesurfing - is Avdimou. The reason is that it has flat sandy and stoney beach. It is very convinient to setup the kite there and to pack it. So you will not end up with reassambling the kite at home after the session. Lots of kitesurfers are coming there from Paphos and Limassol area. In summer days the wind is mostly onshore and usually 2 days out of 7 there will be a wind equal or above 12 knots. Avdimou Beach is a beautiful bay with a lot of space and crystal clear blue waters. As it is possible to launch your kite from almost anywhere, the beach has become a famous spot among kite-surfers who wish to take lessons or improve their skills and expand their technique.
Paramali spot is very simiilar to Avdimou and is 5 km away from it. The only thing is that it is not as well equiped as Avdimou.
Due to its layout - on both beaches - Paramali and Avdimou the wind is slower close to the shore. And about 1 km from the shore it is more windy.
You have to be carefull not to disturb turtle nests as they are protected by law.
Courium spot is also nice as it is located very close to Limassol city. There are more big waves and less people riding there. The entrance to the water is little harder as compared to the Avdimoou. You'll have to be carefull whil coming into the water. Usually I finish session when there is nobody there on the beach. So i land the kite myself with the rope tight to my car's wheel.
Another spot close to Courium is an 'Akrotiri Sand Dunes / Shipreck'. To get there you would like to take off road car as you'll have to drive accross humpy, wavy, zig-zag road which is not suitable for any car.
Ladies mile spot is the one which is commonly used in winter when wind direction changes. And the benefit of it is that it is located close to Limassol as well. So Ladies mile spot along with the Courium both togeather can be used throughout the year depending on the wind direction.
In winter season there is possibility to kite at Malindi Beach in Limassol - close to St. Raphael hotel. It is a nice bay area there with a harbor nearby.
If you are close to Larnaca - then the better place will be KiteMed Spot. Here usually RedBull BigAir competitions are held.

As far as I know November/December - in those months wind usually changes from East/North East to West/North West
