The best demo I have seen about sleying the Saori loom. Oh I want one!

Thank you for this. It's exactly what I needed to give me the courage to put another warp on my loom. It was so clear and really is so very helpful. Thank you again.

I have a new Saori loom but have been having a lot of trouble learning how to use it [the official books are not great help and leave things out] Most Saori vids are just showing superficial demos or intros or finished pieces of weaving. This is a great little video that has already showed me what to do to get the loom ready to actually start weaving, including threading the heddles. Then it shows several special techniques to make your weaving fun and unique. I wish it were a little longer and more detailed, but its a great starter vid and has English subtitles. Thank you, thank you !!

I particularly like your method of tying off at the end, the 'basted' edge keeping the cut warp in place until it is knotted. Very clever!

This is an AWESOME video. Wish I'd have had it in the beginning. Can't tell you how many times I screwed up! Thanks, so much, Loome Taru. I'm spreading this far and wide!

I've been doing a bit of swearing at my new WX60 loom, because of my clumsy attempts to get it all set up to weave. I wish I'd found this vid first. For those of us who do not have a saori instructor to help them, this should be a great help.

I have a table top loom. I have been to saori weaving events and for years have wanted one. ONE DAY I WILL OWN ONE. A GLIDING BEATER SAORI LOOM OF MY OWN.

Apart from having foot shed selection, there's nothing you can do on the two heddle Saori loom that can't be done on your table top. And often the latter are 4 shed which gives you the options of playing with twill variations too. In fact, a rigid heddle loom can be more flexible than the saori for freeform weaving as you can easily add extra heddles, pick-up sticks and/or heddle rods.

(possible duplicate comment) Instead of bringing the prewound over the warp beam, try bringing it straight up from warp roller to the top shelf. This puts the threads in easy reach of the heddle hook. When you're done threading heddles and sleying the reed, take the prewound off the rear roller, bring it up and over the warp beam, then back down, ready to weave. This is shown on page 60 and 62 of the Self Innovations book. Nice demo!!

Yes, I agree. The Self Innovations book lacks clarity in many respects, but it shows how to bring the warp straight up to thread and then reposition the warp roll after threading. It is a good technique.
