Keep up the good work, Tony. You help more people than you know. I have commented before about how sketched I am about GearWrench stuff today. Some stuff real, some stuff fake China crap. That said, at about $1.50---$1.75 per socket, a DIY guy might have luck with these.
I was told by someone that if you install the insulation panels in your garage door you should adjust the tension spring to account for the added weight of the panels. Not sure if that is true...maybe someone more knowledgeable than I can comment as to whether it is necessary. Thanks Tony.
I was also told that and I can say that the panels make difference in the weight and how the door functions. The springs could need attention afterwards . I installed panels on mine put didn't worry about it because I rarely open the door.
I am not sure on that since mine were already installed but that's a very good thing to keep in mind. It might depend on the style of door insulation you select. Some are heavier than others. Alot of them are very light though. All of mine may be a couple of pounds.
