Watching closely here in Houston! Thank you for the update Mark. One thing I learned this week is no matter what the models say they’re not something you should rely on.
I do believe going based on my research with hurricane barrel and going based on what's going on around it I do believe the storm is going to be a more North words in most likely will be a category 3 at landfall
I’m in Corpus Christi and I see a lot of similarities to Harvey so I’m keeping a close eye on this one. Right now it looks like we could be in the outer cone but we’ll see how this plays out. Thank you for the update ❤
Relative to what may have happened, we seem to have dodged a bullet in Jamaica. Beryl seems to be a really contained storm with a really tiny core of cat 4 winds.
I was watching a live video of Jamaica and was surprised that it's only raining lightly and barely any wind. So I logged onto my weather apps and sure enough, just rain. Not even a hurricane warning. So strange!
If Hurricane Beryl slows down in the forward progress the High will move more East and Beryl could move more North East toward the SW coast of Louisiana 😢.
Hi,first of all, love your updates even if Im not from that area...you've said something that i'm super curious about.... I'm from another part of the world and I never understood why does the united states uses imperial system when literally everyone else is using metric system....doesn't this affect your carrers? (I mean people who wants to get into meteorology, etc). It's like you always need to decipher the message , do maths in order to know what is the rest of the world talking about....how come people in the USA don't realize this and demands to change the system to what everyone else is using (we already have different languages between most of the countries, why add another complication????) hahaha anyway, I always wonder that as an outsider/foreigner. Love your videos and how you share your knowledge, thanks for that!
The United States uses the imperial system instead of the metric system largely due to historical reasons and cultural inertia. When the U.S. gained independence, the imperial system (based on British units) was already in widespread use. Here are some key factors Historical Legacy The British imperial system was in place when the U.S. was founded, and it became ingrained in American society. Early American industries, infrastructure, and education systems were all built around these units. Cost of Conversion Switching to the metric system would involve significant costs in terms of changing road signs, retooling manufacturing processes, and updating educational materials. These costs have deterred large-scale conversion efforts Cultural Entrenchment Over generations, Americans have become accustomed to using the imperial system in daily life. Changing this would require a massive cultural shift, which is challenging to implement. Partial Adoption The U.S. has adopted the metric system in many scientific, medical, and military contexts, where standardization with international practices is crucial. However, everyday use remains predominantly in imperial units.

I saw chances that could stall out the reason being is because there's two air masses on both side of it
Love the Forecast Discussion, it's really been the gateway to learning about so much about tropical storms
It seems to me they are heading straight toward space x. 😅

Thought he was going to Cayman Island on Monday? No Texas?

Euro is KING! 😊

What do you call the anti cyclone that spun up on the bottom of beryl??

The United States uses the imperial system instead of the metric system largely due to historical reasons and cultural inertia. When the U.S. gained independence, the imperial system (based on British units) was already in widespread use. Here are some key factors
Historical Legacy
The British imperial system was in place when the U.S. was founded, and it became ingrained in American society. Early American industries, infrastructure, and education systems were all built around these units.
Cost of Conversion
Switching to the metric system would involve significant costs in terms of changing road signs, retooling manufacturing processes, and updating educational materials. These costs have deterred large-scale conversion efforts
Cultural Entrenchment
Over generations, Americans have become accustomed to using the imperial system in daily life. Changing this would require a massive cultural shift, which is challenging to implement.
Partial Adoption
The U.S. has adopted the metric system in many scientific, medical, and military contexts, where standardization with international practices is crucial. However, everyday use remains predominantly in imperial units.
It’s not any of your concern.
Also the system behind definitely got better organized by surprise!!
Will you head to Texas for beryl if it hits there?
