Dear Terry, I watched and enjoyed both the lead card coverage and the chase card coverage of this event. When player safety is an issue, I'm all for extensions on the 30 second rule. It looks like he could've gotten pretty messed up if he hit his arm or leg on that bench! For tap-ins, I think just super quick cuts of the players banging them in (like 1 or 2 seconds) could be ideal. But then again, viewers can always skip ahead to the next hole if they're not interested in tap-ins. Thank you for everything, and now, I DO be needing dem shoes!
I am a fan of the 30 second rule. But, I do like the idea of players getting some extra time on a tough lie like Mason was dealing with on hole 16. It seems to be kind of an unwritten rule in the game. Everyone understands being put in a difficult situation and tend to be more patient when a players has a difficult lie.
I like when they show the overall scores while the tap ins are in the background. Alternatively, just making the cuts tighter could be fine. If the tapins took 3 seconds, i'd notice less.
Keep the tap in!!! I also believe that if it’s a three day or longer event each day every play on the card should get only one extra time allowed and only give them 45 seconds extra per day . A player on that card must set a timer once those 45 seconds is up the player must resume to his lie and has 30 seconds to throw at that time . If a player doesnt throw within the 30 seconds a stroke should be added
that 30 second extension I was just talking about, think of the strategy to try and ICE someone for a winning putt, maybe limit it to outside circle 2?
Absolutely love the chase card content. Gives a much better idea of what the top of the field looks like. Maybe the players within 5 strokes? Just spitballin here
Would love to try a pair of Idios! I personally enjoy seeing the tap ins and don’t think you need to cut that from the video. I think we do need a 30 second violation. For me, it keeps the speed of play at a reasonable pace.
I think 1 extension is the number. Used strategically it adds that interesting element like a challenge in football. I skip all the tap ins, but I don’t necessarily think they shouldn’t be covered. 🤔
No, keep the tap ins. I want as much coverage as possible! Also, sometimes a dont follow how well someone did on a hole and look for the birdy/par/bogie ect pop up.
I think it should be at player card discretion. I think 30 seconds is a good base for normal shots, but more complex shots should be an agreed upon extension. I remember a year or two ago someone landed on a giant tree and had to play it. Maybe Hammes? Anyway, that's mentally and physically way different than a standard shot with basic footing.
Definitely keep anything over 2 meters, but skipping absolute drop ins(underneath the bucket or well inside bullseye) for par or whatever I think is okay if you’re trying to cut time. However, I’ve been loving live coverage and the drawn out periods between shots this ‘23 season so I say keep it all. We love your voice Terry, we want that extra 30 seconds at the end of the day
Good question ... I don't think the par (in this case) changes the strategy for the players. Either you can get over in 1 or you can't. Just seems to be a mind thing about getting the 'eagle vs birdie vs even a par'. A PAR of 4 DOES feel like a bogey to me.
Show the tap in’s. Its part of the play. 30 second rule should apply in all situations. Why? Who’s going to rule on so called difficult positions. Just asking.
I just found that. Wow. Crazy I'm just now seeing this after it's been up for a couple of weeks and no one else mentioned it. I hate Adobe sometimes ;)
Hellow Disc Golf Guy and welcome to the comments section 😆🤣 Sorry. Mason took 90 seconds to throw next to the bench. It doesn't take that long and there should have been a time violation warning. There was nothing unsafe about a standing backhand. He knew in the first few seconds he had no walkup footing and no forehand. He could not throw form off the concrete. That was all clear in the first 15 seconds. Tap in is part of the coverage and I don't mind it. I sometimes watch and sometimes skip. I'd rather have the option. Some of these very tight pin positions with water or OB front and back seems like they should just bomb it over the basket and have a short comeback for par. I kept waiting for AB to do that.
How about if there are 2 cards waiting on you the card that is 2 behind gets to start throwing discs at you, and if they hit you, it’s automatic dnf for you so you can contemplate the meaning of life for the rest of the tournament.
Let’s just say it is a poor hole design. Thanks for bringing us the coverage! To answer some your your Qs, yes I love the player discussions (OB, missed mandos), watching them fish discs out of water, banter, etc. Thanks for cutting out 2 min pump fakes and obnoxious pre-shot routines
I’m all for letting a player take additional time for an extraordinary circumstance, esp dangerous or awkward lies where injury is a possibility, but Mason’s lie wasn’t that crazy. and he took a full 2 minutes if not more😑 only playing 28 events or whatever I guess I get it, but I would definitely be in his ear walking to the next tee
Thank you Terry and Spiicii Boii for this coverage. It was a lot of fun to watch. Please keep the tap ins! It would feel incomplete without them
Also, I like having the chase card coverage of the 💪🏼 Challenge.

Keep the tap ins Terry! The sound of the chains is a signal that the hole is finished and it’s onto the next
I like the tap ins. When they miss, it feels relatable. Also reminds me never to take them for granted

Keep the tap-ins Terry. Don't give in to the tik tok attention span crowd.

I'm in favor of keeping the tap ins. Never know when someone's disc spits out on a shortie.

Hey Ter Bear, they have those Idio shoes in my size???

Please keep the tap ins. They take mere seconds and tell the full story
I kinda like the tap outs to see the confidence of the player.
Well done!
If they made hole 11 a par 4, do you think we would see many more 3's or do you think they would still be going for the 2?

I like seeing the tap-ins for sure
Show the tap in’s. Its part of the play.

I think 2 extensions per round or even tournament.
Also just letting you know at some point your media dropped and was replaced with a screen saying "media coverage" in like 9 languages.
I just found that.
Wow. Crazy I'm just now seeing this after it's been up for a couple of weeks and no one else mentioned it. I hate Adobe sometimes ;)
@thediscgolfguy What if we call an eagle that turns into a par an “ear”?
I see where you're going with that ... not sure if it'd catch on though. Let's keep workshopping this.

I think you keep the tap-ins. If we're not watching shots that have a possible score change why watch it at all? 😂
I do fast forward most tap ins fyi
How about if there are 2 cards waiting on you the card that is 2 behind gets to start throwing discs at you, and if they hit you, it’s automatic dnf for you so you can contemplate the meaning of life for the rest of the tournament.
30 seconds with 2, 30 second extensions per round and no throw is to take over 60 seconds would be alright.
show it all. tap ins inclusive
Don’t understand why everyone isn’t just blasting long on hole 11, making your 20 ft par putt and picking up strokes on the field
I think trying to go out of bounds but still NEAR the basket is the toughest part. I understand your logic and thought though.
@@thediscgolfguylong should at least take double out of the equation, which is still better than the average
I usually skip through the tap ins anyway…

Show 10 to 12 ft. Under 8ft, don't Show.
😢
