You have really inspired my throughout my design journey! Im a graphic communication and typography student and started my design instagram because of you!! So thank you!!!! 🥰
I honestly fancy your motion graphic skills. Yes, I love your graphic design related videos but just wanted you to know that your motion graphic skills is top notch as well.

I'm one of those people who followed you first on youtube then on instagram. I opened my profile at the beginning of June and I am already experiencing some small goals. Consistency is the key along with creating real and genuine relationships! :) Great video Abi as always!
Normally it’s the other way around - people from Instagram come over and subscribe here so that’s good to hear!!🧡 yay that’s fab!! Always shout about being consistent because it plays such a big role with anything you do!
Abi, I love you! I am just starting with design but I have been following you for the longest time. Now, when I started to take my design path seriously, your videos and tips are so much inspiring and helpful 💕
Your story and biz have just sky rocketed, you are incredible and inspiring, love your videos thanks I had planned out ideas for june so now need to do my july oops, but I have posted 3 content pillars but need to do more to mix the feed up for sure
Wow, the last point interests me☺️ do you mean I can actually tag you on IG for a post I’ll like you to see?just to make it a fun, cos you are my celebrity😊
I just found your channel and omg you are just amazing I actually just got my first big freelance gig and I'm using your videos for tips and tricks and you are so helpful ty so much!!!!!!!!!
Yay thank you so much! I’ve been investing in better equipment and hired a video editor - a big step (so I’m glad you noticed!!)🤗 I used to edit them on my own but it’s got to the point where I was struggling with juggling everything! Will definitely make a video in the future of how I film and the equipment used 🧡
Learned a ton of tips and tricks! While reels seemingly is the way to reach 'organic' followers, it sure seems the hardest of all tips. Well, I guess I got no option. Thanks for these informative videos.
Glad to hear! they are difficult to get into, but once you start and get the ball rolling they become easier! Just have to put yourself out there and not fear judgement😊 Thank you for the kind comment!
Hey Abi, I just came across your video as a graphic design college student wanting to get out there. First of all thank you for your conent it is a very big help! When making an Instagram and other socials should you make it a business one? Link your business email, websites? Or should the instagram be a personal with a few posts of your work? an even mix between the two? When you create the insta, should it be just your name? your brand name? or a mix, like how your channel name and insta name is? I believe my questions to be very opinion-based, but I would like to know what you would think. I hope you see this!
This is a great question, and I may be able to help. I would recommend setting up a personal AND business account for everything. There's nothing wrong with cross-posing personal content, but building an audience is much easier if it's in a separate place. It's also easier to gauge interest on posts if your content is separated. Everyone loves transparency, but a little goes a long way. A formula that I've used in a marketing agency is to find a place for everything; for example, reels for personal content, but not posts. Posts sit there forever, so the more business-centric you can make them the better they'll serve you in the long run. It isn't to say that your content shouldn't feel personal, but an instagram with your face all over it is MUCH different than an instagram that provides value through posts. That's my two cents; really it's up to you, and the type of audience you're trying to build. If you're trying to purely get clients, then I'd go for less personal posts. If you're trying to build a community, then I'd go for more. The balance can be tough, but the easiest way to track success is with engagement. Metrics shouldn't be your God, but they can tell you information about how your post is performing to inform what you do in the future!
Also, having been a design student, you'll kick yourself in the future if you don't use the time you have now to experiment and try new things. Try not to get caught up in the weeds of "this person said this, and this person said to do this"; the best thing you can do is pick a path, and try it all the way! Abi is a great resource for freelancers, and I've followed her for a long time, but there are tons of other channels to pull information from. Just try not to get caught up in the "how", and focus on doing as much as you possibly can while you're paying for the time to learn/grow :)
Hey Abi, your video has really helped me! I just started with graphic design few months ago and it is a bit scary to me because I can have a week of great ideas and then another week of basically nothing. Do you sometimes feel like that? Thank you for the video
I would suggest doing little things each day! So for example you could start with a few boomerangs of your face, then go onto doing voiceovers of you showing behind the scenes of your work and then start with a Q&A with your followers and trying to answer the questions by speaking to the camera. I’ve found with this sort of thing you’re never going to feel ready to do it and you’ve got to just push yourself to speak on your story. It’s going to feel uncomfortable and mine were very cringe to look back at, but you’ll only get more confident the more you do it! X
I was afraid to experiment on my ig because when I was smaller, like around 500 followers whenever I posted something slightly different I always lost some of them so I thought that stick to a routine is safer
@@abiconnick Oh yeah, need to be specific, euh ! :P I ask for the editing software. Bit if you tell me more about the camera and microphone will be amazing too! :D
I really love you but I need to understand one thing to start the business after posting my design on Instagram what will.happen after this will customer come and ask me for a work or what🤔
Hi! If Im a graphic designer specialising in branding, Illustrations and also starting up my own e-shop for stationery, can I cohesively display all three categories on my business IG page? Or am I making my audience confused?

I ask for the editing software. Bit if you tell me more about the camera and microphone will be amazing too! :D
You're so sweet thank you for this. wanted to ask you which programs do you use as a graphic designer?
Thank you!
I use:
Adobe illustrator
Adobe indesign
Photoshop
Premier pro
After effects
Procreate
🤗
@@abiconnick where have you learned the software?
I really love you but I need to understand one thing to start the business after posting my design on Instagram what will.happen after this will customer come and ask me for a work or what🤔

Hi! If Im a graphic designer specialising in branding, Illustrations and also starting up my own e-shop for stationery, can I cohesively display all three categories on my business IG page? Or am I making my audience confused?
What ring light and camera to you use to film?
I actually don’t use a ring light anymore, I upgraded to a soft box light, and I use a Sony zv1 ☺️
How do you create your video content?
I'll do a video on it soon!
I'm based in Baghdad and most of my followers dont speak english but I like making content in english, how would I grow my account?
Maybe Create a second account for English speakers? Or Write each post in both languages!
@@abiconnick that's a good idea , I think it might worth the effort.
thank you 🖤
