One large ocean freighter has a larger footprint than 50 MILLION cars, their ports are where all the damage is coming from!

5 politicians who skirt around the actual problem. Climate change, poverty, homelessness, and all that is a struggle in our lives is caused by one thing...money. It's hard to imagine total transformation in this country or for that matter, around the world, with a monetary for profit system. I live in Seattle....how about taxing Boeing, Microsoft, Amazon, Seahawks (the sports franchises here), and other massive corporations here in this city, so we can use that money to pay for the utopian sustainable echo friendly city we all envision. All of these corporations in my city should pay for ALL of the infrastructure projects. They make huge profits off of all of us....WHILE utilizing ALL of the infrastructure a city provides these corporations. Then in return they hardly pay any taxes, they are the biggest welfare queens in this country, and then on top of all that, they take those profits and offshore them. So who's taxes get raised? YOURS! Can't afford more taxes? Get a 4th job.

this is so great to see, if only there were more american cities that were as committed as these 5, most of the change needs to happen in the southern and midwest states, the ignorant people that live there are to blind to issues to influence their government away from oil.

This as Congress party leaders agreed to wide-ranging policy provisions in the omnibus spending bill, from lifting a 40-year-old oil export ban , in place cense the 1970s. The oil provision, a key Republican priority, expected to be signed by Obama, will allow companies to freely export crude oil overseas. the West coast ports including Alaska will, no doubt, ship to the partners on the TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership).

These people always lie. I mean there is a capital gain tone which is being NOT discussed.

Gosh Yes! I was wondering when a group of leaders would come together to decide we need to make things cost more, be poor, and starve! Where can we donate? Oh nevermind, better save for the poverty that follows these idiots.

      All talk is shit.
That's why we need action. We need hard core laws that destroy the foundation of capitalism and hierarchy.
