    wendy, i have the same spice holders but ordered these ones. "2 Pack 4 in 1 Plastic Salt and Pepper Shaker- 8 Grids Empty Spice Dispenser with Adjustable Holes Transparent Travel Seasoning Cans Condiment Jars for Home Restaurant Kitchen Cooking Steak BBQ" (I don't know if you allow links to amazon in the comments. so ill just leave the description to them), it comes with 2 of them and can hold 4 spices per container. holds a little more and easy to use. i always bring my 4 go-to spices. so these work good.

    The trick with any propane stove having trouble being turned down low and holding there is to remove the factory grease from the gas valves and re-grease lightly with a light grease. I use dielectric silicone grease. The factory grease is too heavy, especially Coleman.
    Remove the knob, there will be a small screw in the center, then you have to work the knob off the shaft...this can take both finesse and time.
    The valve is held into the body by the brass nut you now see...this can be factory tight so use the proper sized wrench and loosen it.
    Pull the valve and clean it well, I just wipe but you can use solvent or brake cleaner. All you have to lube is the two O rings on the valve core. Light hand there.
    Now using a rolled up paper towel, like you are making a Q Tip out of it, insert that into the valve body still inside the stove, rotate and repeat until only traces of factory grease are present. Although I use vet supply Q tips, you shouldn't use homeowner ones as they are prone to shedding material inside your valve body.
    Now, just reverse the above, put it all back together. EZ, honest. I do it in camp for others all the time. I hear the simmer complaint I spring into action!
    Hope the tip is worth the length!

      I really appreciate that tip. It is the bane of my existence…not being able to simmer.

      Thank you for your suggestion. We have a Coleman stove we're taking out of storage to use again.

    lol great vid guys, i cant wait to figure how i want my set up. I was thinking of the one door on the passenger side with my 270 degree awning. what are the pros and cons of having one or two doors, its just for myself.

    • @MWDAdventures
      @MWDAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are solo camping a single door is more doable than when you have 2 or more camping. The one thing to consider is resale value as couples/families typically like 2 doors so they aren't crawling over each other to get in/out.

      We were at Lake Michigan Recreation Area along the east coast of Lake Michigan - just north of Ludington, MI.
      You can make reservations on Recreation.gov and look for: Lake Michigan At Manistee
      We love this campground!

    Another great video! Thanks for the origination tips, we are still figuring out our setup as newer Hiker Trailer owners. Your videos definitely helped make our decision all the easier. Keep up the great work!

    Just picked up our Hiker! Think I'll want a corkscrew, maybe a ladle. Have 17" shelves. Looking for less expensive organizer with lid as will put it on ground when in camp.

    Your killing me smalls… 😂 I searched high and low for a bins for my top shelf with just about those dimensions. I ended up finding vegetable storage bins from a restaurant supply house that was 20 x 12 x 6. But those dividers are the cats meow… Nice find!!!
    Really you were going to drop the tongs. That’s like the only thing I think I need. Once again great timing with a video probably going to save me some wasted time getting my kitchen ready.
    A new hiker owner, two weeks and 12 hours till my first big trip out west.

    I have a ladle, scissors, vegetable peeler and potato chip clip. I wash dishes the same way but I just use a container with a manual spigot. I love the elastic for the tablecloth! I'm going to check out that flat pan for the stove too! I have a pan that the lid will strain noodles but I would like a separate strainer and that collapsible one is perfect.

    • @MWDAdventures
      @MWDAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah, yes we do have a general scissors and lots of clips that we use for various reasons, including chip clip :-). The elastic for the tablecloth is a game changer!!

    Some paper clamps, key rings, and some elastic, and the elastic wouldn't have to cross the top of the table. I'm glad you showed the bands because I have clamps, rings, and elastic already. I love those crates!!! I've never seen those before. I would love to have those in the back of my car. Your food looks gourmet. Nice video!!!

    Clips for bags is about the only thing I would add. And I always carry zip lock bags. I like the table cloth and the elastic retainer. And I'll order the collasible strainer. Nicely done video. Thanks!

    • @MWDAdventures
      @MWDAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We do have clips that we use around camp that get used as chip clips too. Ziploc bags are a great idea - never know when you may need them.

    Their was a fix for the Coleman, in short you have to remove the valve and clean then apply silicon grease to the o-rings and reassemble. There's a TH-cam video on the procedure

    Great video! Do you guys know where to find an 11lbs propane tank? I can’t find them anywhere for my new hiker. Everywhere I go they just carry the 20 pounders…I appreciate it.
