That was really beautiful and very respectfully done …a beautiful place, obviously someone keeps it swept, so it’s cared for. Do hope you were wearing a mask when you went downstairs in view of the mould spores on the coffins.
I notice one coffin had a glass window over the face area and I Thank you for not being so inquisitive you panned the camera there!
Thankyou for gently sharing this final resting place of what appeared to be a well to do husband and wife. No other family appears to share that room. Appreciated the appropriate music too. 💐💐🙏

NOW THAT WAS ONE BEAUTIFUL AND IMPRESSIVE MAUSOLEUM!!! The large wood doors are so beautiful also. And not one sign of any type of vandalism !! I am proud to be Irish. Imagine that mausoleum being in a different area.

This is exquisite! We will be in Ireland in June 2022. It's been 40 years and each and every year it beckons. I cannot wait! One of the most hauntingly beautiful countries in the world!

The stairs going up I’d imagine just went up into the Tower itself. Those stairs looked well nigh impossible to have carried a coffin/casket up…they went round to the left at quite an angle and remember you have the length of said casket as well as width plus it has to be kept top side up- no tilting on it’s side to get round bends, so in my humble opinion I doubt anything of interest is up there and confident in our host if there was they would have shown us, as I’m sure they checked ! 😉

@@helencheadle5285 Your comment is very reasonable. In a structure like that, though, I would be curious to see the space above, even if it is empty. It is such an interesting structure.

Robert Percy Ffrench (yes that is the correct spelling!) was a Diplomat with the Foreign Office. Lead was common for coffins then. They wold of been covered in velvet or brocade, which has deteriorated by now!

Bob, please don't be crude. The filmmaker offered his time and effort to record this wonderous upload to showcase this beautiful burial chamber in Ireland. What a lovely sculptured mausoleum. No doubt, the man who laid to rest before the altar was a person of influence. The fashion of the stairway appeared to be taken by a medieval castle, and as he was descending, it was a haunting moment what he might find and discover down below. Thankfully, two discomposing caskets were sitting side by side, probably a marital couple from the Victorian era. I commend him for allowing us to journey exclusively to this forgotten mausoleum.
