Wishing Well || Shubble Empires SMP Animatic

This is my first animatic, I hope you like it! I've been working on it over the past month and a half, so if you notice a change in the artwork and stuff, that'd be why. I'm happy with how this turned out, and even happier that in the time since I started, nothing has really come out to contradict this whole story I imagined!
Spoilers for the animatic, but the story is essentially my headcanons on pre-canon Shrub lore! It goes something like this: Shrub's childhood home was corrupted by Xornoth, helped by her after she made a deal with them (? I am still not 100% sold on this but ah well). That's why she escaped, although she didn't remember doing so and was scared of them when they appeared in Empires. Xornoth uses her as a sort-of vessel to escape what became the Nether, and to reach the kingdoms, but it takes a bit before they can join her.
When they find Shrub again, they pull her into another deal, similar to the one they made when she was younger, except this time she is possessed and fully on their side, mainly because I wanted to draw demon!Shrub.
Other headcanons include that mushroom hats are a part of the culture of Shrub's homeland, which is why her parents have a large flat cap and a hairpiece based on mushrooms themselves. I also imagine that Shrub wandered around for a while before settling down and founding the Undergrove.

i actually had the idea for this animatic more than 4 months ago, back when the idea of shrub being corrupted by xornoth was only in my head. after a month of work, it was posted here!
fun fact: i actually considered not including that part at all, because i wanted it to stay within the realm of possibility under canon, although friends convinced me to keep the corruption bit in the end.
it’s been fun to see as the story has moved from not explicitly denouncing my idea of possible events to (in a way) showing them though, that’s for sure! i’m glad you enjoyed the animatic, as well as my idea of the events in this story!

haha i know i’m a *tad* bit late but i didn’t forget joey! he’s not a “king” nor an “idol of prosperity” at this point in the story when shrub stumbles into the empires lands, he’s a new arrival just like shrub is!
or, really, more of an old arrival newly awoken who hasn’t established himself outside of his jungle yet, within my own headcanoned lore.
all this to say, he isn’t a ruler yet within this timeline at the point i’m introducing the others lol. i didn’t spend a week on those two frames just to forget a whole person lmao

if you’re talking about the portraits of the other rulers, i actually intentionally didn’t include him! this animatic is about shrub arriving and beginning the undergrove, and that bit is specifically referring to the other rulers who are already established
bc joey joined the server at the same time shrub did, he isn’t there just quite yet lol.
