These work great, have a few (found thrown out!) have replaced the batteries in one. They work best for a quick cleanup on the carpet as the spinning roller does most of the work. The front flap on the dust bin is so you can open and suck out the contents with a regular vacuum cleaner. The inner dust filter is a spring and you can pull back the plunger and let go to knock the dust off if you repeat a few times. The newer (more expensive ones) are Li-ion, some are dual speed, some have "headlights" on the front :) there are lots of variations to the basic design :)

I also have one of these, already rebuilt with Li-ion, used 6 18650 cells 2 parallel x 3 series. Works even better then before , and charged 5 times faster :). Of course I replaced the charger with proper constant current charger, and installed protection and balancing board. It fits the cells ok if you remove the plastic holder for the old cells.

Yeah!!! It's a good vacuum for quick jobs. I have one brand new here in Brazil. I gave one to my mom too. The problem: 16 hours charging for 16 minutes vacuuming my apartment. :( Would love to change the batteries. If you do some day, show us! I'll appreciate that!

I got this one in the trash,, but it still works, but the battery,, is not great anymore :-)
I have almost the same model, and it works great!
But if you suck up something that smells bad, then you should wash it really good afterwards.

at 8:51-8:53 it looks to me that there might have been (at one time) a rubber seal that went around the housing in your hand between the black part and the grey part. this may have prevented air leakage around the housing and forced it from only the filter section. maybe a parts site might help.

You're welcome!,, By pure luck,, I have a new video on another Electrolux vacuum cleaner comming out tomorrow,, fixing a Li-ion one that won't run or charge.
You could start going dumpster diving, and find lots of very usable stuff thrown out, sometimes in need of minor fixup. Quite a few TH-camrs are doing that. I also remember some blogger finding a pretty good electric kettle which just needed descaling.
It's actually illegal in Denmark to go dumpster diving. No matter how silly that might seem.
If you get caught, you'd risk getting a fine much larger than what you might save on electronics.
Stefan, dumpster diving is perfectly legal in Denmark, as long as the dumpster is freely accessible, not locked, no damage is done, and the things have been thrown out as garbage. This has been confirmed by the ministry of justice. da.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skraldning

One night I was dumpster diving with a lot of good free food in a sack over my shoulder, and the police stopped to ask what I was doing. I probably looked rather suspect. I simply told them that I was dumpster diving, and we had a short talk about where the good places were. Then they left with a friendly "good night". They did not even look in my sack or ask my name.
Those air filters on the sides may be more dirty than you think. They could be preventing a strong vacuum.

The model itself is good,, I would go with a newer one that has Lithium batteries instead of these older NI-CA... I plan to rebuild mine at some point,, to get better,,,more power in the batteries.

My conclusion is that the batteries are in bad condition. the electric motor does not come on speed.
Suggestion replace the batteries for powerful 18650 batteries.
in series to the nearest operating voltage. if it is 12v 3x18650 or 4x18650 with a step down converter.
