    You did the same as me: not using the ESC fan, thinking it's the Castle Link cable. Once I finally learned that, I plugged the cable into a free receiver slot and the fan heated up without spinning. Called Castle and they're sending a replacement.
    I'm glad my ESC wasn't overheating, because the fan wasn't even on. I thought the ESC fan was powered directly through the ESC, but it's not. It requires its own power port.

  • @zachwhite2323

    Why does everyone gear so low when retaining the 48p gearing? Yes the 3S cars come with a 17t pinion…but on a 57t spur. That’s equivalent to running a 28t pinion on a 91t spur. Even with the 500kv higher motor, you’d want a 23t pinion to match a stock BLX car running the 17t pinion. A larger pinion is also far less likely to strip the plastic spur. A lot of guys say the 48p is too weak for brushless power, but in my opinion they are just gearing them way too low. A 17/91 is equivalent to running a 10t pinion on a stock 3S car, they’d likely strip that 57t plastic spur gearing that low too.

    Would have been super helpful if it wasnt fast forwarded through 95% of the video that was made, I assume, to help others do the same or similar work on theirs? I just upgraded my granite 4x4 with ezrun max10 sct. Got a new slip gear and bore with arrma aluminum motor mount. Tried to tell from your vid, but couldn't....is it supposed to be near impossible to get the mount to snap back over the clip part? Plus, now the car will spin tires fast when holding in air but as soon as its on the ground it either turns off or stutters. Seems slowly pressing throttle will get it going but not for long. Any ideas?

    • @MSMAdventures
      @MSMAdventures  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @bbrock81188
      @bbrock81188 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      To do it right and where it will last it will cost 160 to 180 depends on how you do it you need to buy the slipper gear with the shaft for the brushless granite you can buy it built for about 45 or buy the parts sperated for 25/30 and you also need BLX 3S, ARAC9102
      And then what ever motor and ecu you want

      I'd like to add, the splines at the ends of the driveshaft are weak and prone to breaking, part AR310773 is much better than the plastic stock one, holds up to a light brushless system well.
