I've always liked the GE C-boats specially because they were quite prevalent in my country. I remember they comming off the ships en mass still paint on US liveries.
The C30-7A has a special place in my heart, first locomotive I ever had the change to get close to.
There were only two orders of C30-7A's in world one by Conrail to GE USA and one by Cutrale Quintella to GE of Brazil in the 90s, the 7 CQ units came in a overall white with blue accent, rather striking, livery. They differ a bit from the Conrail's one the way their long hood doors are arranged (they still have 6 engine doors though).
Interestingly enough 5 of the ex-Conrail C30-7A's and one of the C32-8's ended up coming to Brazil, so at one point we had engines from both orders in one place.
Beautiful model, one day I hope to have one just like it.

I believe a few of them are still in service in Brazil? I'm not sure of that but I remember reading about them recently.

@@ConrailBostonLineHOLayout Yeah, three of the ex-Conrail's are still kicking around down here.
As for the C32-8 (9339), it operated a little more than a year until a short circuit fried the electrical cabinet, after that it was considered uneconomical to repair, canibalized for parts and the empty shell was scrapped later.
The GE of Brazil C30-7A's are all scrapped by the mid 2010s, except for one unit (7202) which is still running in preservation, as they were run hard in the 90s and early 2000s before the second hand units arrived.

Fun fact. They went on running in Estonia for a few years, and estonia accualy renamed them to c30-7ai because of the track gauge. Same story with c36-7i

It’s not the Boston Line without some C30-7As.
