Those nineteen minutes flew by because seeing so many perfect touches and passes finding their man was almost hypnotic.
Absolute dynamo, doesn't waste the ball. So glad we signed him.
As a Rovers fan, we knew we'd not hold on to him for long. But, what a perfect move for him. if he'd joined a top six club, He'd have been loaned around, sat on benches and never played. Fair play to Palace for getting him straight into the team (what a day later?). He hasn't looked back since. We knew he'd play for England - none of us thought this quick though! Has any other player been a part of a senior squad for competition after 16 Pl games? Someone let me know, as I think that's highly unlikely.

Kobbie Mainoo - 25 EPL games made euro 2024.
Richard Wright - 3 EPL games & made Euro 2000
Fraser Forster - 0 EPL games but played for Celtic. made WC 2014
Sam Johnstone - 36 EPL games, in 2nd tier when made Euro 2020
Michael Owen - 38 EPL Games, made WC 1998
John Ruddy - 38 EPL games, made Euro 2012
Aaron Lennon - 38 EPL Games, Made WC 2006
Ashley Cole - 47 EPL games, made WC 2002. Debuted with england a year before with

Yep! Trent is an amazing passer of the ball, but apart from that He cannot do any of things what Wharton does.

Basically 20 minutes of Wharton doing the job of both Trent and Rice combined. Put him in and watch England's performances vastly improve. Doesn't waste passes, every pass he plays forward causes problems for defence, receives the ball on the half turn, receives with his back to play and turns and plays it forward, reads the game, positioning, timing. He's got it all. And he's likely not gonna get a minute at this Euros. Infuriating as it shows how clueless Southgate actually is. We can talk about get Gordon or Cole Palmer in. Wharton is key for everything else to build off. Without someone like him the rest will remain the same regardless of who he brings in. And I'm a Leeds fan before any "bias" comments come in. I think Wharton is that guy!!
Trent isn't even a question. Rice comparison is interesting, I'd rather push Rice back to CB and have Wharton patrolling midfield with Mainoo, Bellingham ahead
With Wharton you don't need Rice. He's better.

It was criminal that he got 0 minutes whilst sideways Rice got every minute. Mainoo, Palmer, Wharton are the future central 3 of a 5 man midfield.

We are going to look back in a year's time on Euro 2024 and think how did Adam not get into that number 6 role. Especially with how Southgate likes to set up.
The lad dictates the game, he breaks up play, he distributes the ball short and long his vision is impeccable. The most impressive thing is that he does is with such confidence and ease.
Thought he was fantastic for Blackburn, he's doing even better at Palace, he's destined to go to the very top of the game.

A Rovers fan here, he was brilliant for us in such a short time. We all knew he was destined for the top - though none of us expected he would make it this quickly. Palace was the perfect move for him. Would have sat on a bench elsewhere for a while.

Spent the whole day watching videos of English players and Wharton is, together with McAtee, the only player that plays "simple". No unnecessary running, just control and pass. Everything he does feels like thinking in advance. Could be a Dutch player😎.

I'm a United fan I need at least two players from the Palace squad. My first choice is this guy, not Olise. He makes crystal palace ticks. Given the right guidance by the right manager, Adam could be the best English midfield player of his generation.
There are very few managers around with the expertise to nurture this talent.
I hope he doesn't end up like Dele, or Wilshire, or Barkley, or Maddison, or any of the other prospects that failed to reach their full potential.

I'm not singling Maddison out, because it's now a common thing for young English footballers to become so wealthy, that football is no longer the most important thing.
Money talks, and the majority of players couldn't care less about the fans, so long as their bank balance, and notoriety continue to blossom.
