Hello everyone! As you all know, there have been issues with "Zeit" getting blocked on many channels as I have been trying since the release to upload! After blurring the music video, I had success! Thank you all so much for your understanding. I'm so excited that we get to experience this masterpiece together. HUGE thank you to Rammstein for making music that not only satisfies our ears, but touches our hearts. Zeit is by far the most artistic, raw, beautiful and vulnerable video I have ever seen. Thank you for showing me this incredible group of artists. I will forever be grateful to this community for showing me the magic that is Rammstein ❤

    My interpretation of this song:
Humans are bound to time, we're born, we struggle, we die. And the cycle repeats with every generation. The figure represents death, or our "time" to go. You cannot predict when it will come.
The lesson that seems to be taught here is to cherish every moment in life as if it were your last. "Time; Please Stop, Stop!" is our plea for the good moments to last forever. The tragedy is that time will never stop, and we're all doomed from birth.

The dark figures are supposed to represent timekeepers who make sure that time is running on. Impartial, incorruptible, inevitable. They give and they take. Life and death, joy and sorrow, hope and despair. Time is nothing and everything, because it does not exist in nature and yet it simply determines everything.

    • @Paehrin
      @Paehrin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

The 3 figures reminded me à the three Fates in greek mythology (the "Moires", don,t know the english translation). Basically, one is responsible for starting (and sometimes prolonging) life, the second one determines basically how long you live, and the 3rd one determines how you die and is responsible to cut the thread of life that was started and woven by the first 2.

Yes. Realizing that the life is a death sentence, the gift of life a curse, as there will never be enough of it. There could always be more beautiful moments, but I will have passed on to never be part of it again. All you can do is hang on, and hope to have enough to look back on, and have those left behind to mourn you. Only if life is pain is enough time given.

This ode is written so well. It is a poem sung to a heart-wrenching melody.
Don't worry, emotions are there to be experienced, not to be suppressed.
With this Rammstein tapped into what Germany lost so long ago, when everything was besmirched by the tragic attrocities committed in Germany's name.
We once were proud of being called the people of poets and thinkers, not the bringers of destruction and horror.
This poetic song, or this sung poem, channeled the time when this feeling was well founded.
Yet it also touches on the inherent sadness within many German's souls, that time will never stop, and the past can't be changed.
That we will have to live with what happened in the past, come to terms with the good and the bad.
But that we will never be able to change what happened, only to make choices that we can live with.

I usually am a very closed person when it comes to emotion, and the older i get it the more i resent this reflexive suppression. But it's so tough to unlearn this behaviour.
However, Rammstein was always the one thing that cracked my shell, and it was no different this time when Zeit came out and i watched it for the first time. I cried and it felt so good.
And now with your very honest reaction, i let myself get carried away by the emotion again. So thank you for being so open, it really helps.
This song and video will stand the test of time, i guarantee it. It touched on something so universely human, it will always be relevant.
And that scene where they are blasted with sand, diving through the sands of time, being warped, almost attacked, with that beautiful riff in the background. It's just pure art.

I have been listening to them since I was a teenager. My first contact was, as my brother watched triple X on DVD. There they play a concert in the movie. After that I heard here and there some songs of them until my father presented me my first Rammstein album. We listen to it a lot together and we watched many concerts of them on tv. We even have a really good tribute band (Stahlzeit) which visits our closest bigger city once a year. There we went together annualy. It was a great time.
Unfortnately my father died before the release of the last album. Everytime I watch a concert or listen to a album I ignite his candle so he can still listen to them.
This song was really emotional for me too. It shows the role of life, death and time perfectly and so artisticly.
I can recommend you "Wer weiß das schon" from Till's side project Lindemann. The piano and the lyrics are killing me always. I lost my father and the woman I loved during the last years. I still have the feeling life tries to beat me down. But I will go on, keep being a good human being and giving my best as an artist,, employee, friend or family member.

a little story about me and Rammstein.
I met a friend when I was 5 years old, his name is Norman and he was 4 years old at the time. his parents owned the first Rammstein album and we listened to it and liked the heavy music. since that day i grew up with him and the music of rammstein.
When the song "Zeit" was released at the beginning of this year, he was expecting his son to be born.
His son was born healthy and his name is Leander. Unfortunately Leander died the next night...
The instrumental version of "Zeit" was played at his funeral, which was hard but bearable. the next day i went to the rammstein concert in berlin.
Of course, this song was also played there. when 40,000 people sang this song together, to which the day before my oldest friend's son was buried. it completely destroyed me, this moment burned itself into my soul.
Another stone that paves the path of my life, accompanied by the music of this unique band.
Translated with Google, sorry for mistakes.

The amount that I have been looking forward to this review is second only to the release of Zeit itself. Your insights... how you interpret things... is truly beautiful. An amazing review, as I've come to expect, as one expects bar-raising art from Rammstein.
Please, never be sorry for getting emotional. I don't think there is enough of that in the world and believe that to be a huge contributor to what is happening. To me, it is endearing and shows empathy. It shows that you are understanding the message and that it isn't being lost on you. You feel the music, the lyrics and the images and let them take you away... to where the true meaning of the message lives. It shows your depth and acknowledges the work of the artist... and I'm sure they would be grateful for that.
Again, you've produced a video clip that I'll be watching over and over, just as I do with your review of the piano version of Mein Herz Brennt. You, as Rammstein also does, reach me deeper than most do. And I appreciate that immensely.
    Bravo!

Considering that the album is called like the song and takes into account the lyrics, plus the age of the band and members, that the last song of the album will be called "adieu", it could be that this is Rammstein's final album.
For it does not have to be a matter of life and death, but can also mean beginning and end.
Because Rammstein's videos often only tell an alternative view of the song.
It only takes one of the six who says that he doesn't want anymore and that's it.

Nobody has to be ashamed for his or her tears, when hearing Zeit. It deeply touches many as it is a universal topic for every human.
I don't know whether you already reacted to Rammstein's "Nebel" (Fog) which may also bring you to tears even if it's not so intense as Zeit.

    • @bernardoesperanto3194
      @bernardoesperanto3194 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

"Nebel" basically is a sung poem about love, death, eternity and the afterworld. Till uses several uncommon poetic words and symbols which leave space for a couple of interpretations. Unfortunately my English is not good enough to explain the background meaning of the poem / song. Just a short example: "wo das Meer das Land berührt" means "where death touches life". This is the zone of "fog" (Nebel). First she dies in this transit zone, at the end he, when his memories are already fainting.
In the same category of similar topics fall Rammstein's "Stirb nicht vor mir" (2001) and "Zeit" (2022).

And i see and feel that you are a very empathetic and thoughtful person who gets all the emotional feelings and meanings of the songs right at the point. It's a pleasure to see you commenting - even if it makes you sad in a way. All in all i think in a good way. Even if you cry you shine like a sparkling star (fits very well to your background lol). So many missed opportunities and wrong decisions that can't be undone. Words that would have been better not to have said, or to have liked to have said - doesn't everyone know that?

Music, lyrics and video complement each other again as almost always to a complete work of art.
The lyrics talk about not being able to stop time and the video shows the band members trying until the end, unfortunately in vain.
We all sit when our time has come in one and the same boat, no matter whether friend or foe like or in a war.
There are 3 timekeepers like the Norns in Norse mythology.
    Past, present and future
The moment you are born your death already begins
therefore live now, live the perfect moment
In the very last second of the video, by the way, we hear the first breath of a newborn human being.

This video hit me on so many different layers... Sure the concept of time being cruel and merciless is a thing, but seeing time as this force of nature, and how it can make your darkest hour into something beautiful... like when the sailors drowned, for a brief time your light shines the brightest, the peak point in your life, might be during your time of dying... or maybe it was in your time of birth, or somewhere on the middle, and you go trough life seeking for that perfect moment, so beautiful and so sad at the same time, for when you finally find it, it would already be gone before you realize.

So happy to be experiencing Rammstein throughout the ages. I feel like they keep outdoing themselves. We may not have seen their best work yet, they are musical geniuses, and geniuses generally produce their best work later in life.

This was my third time listening to "Zeit" and each time the song hits me more. Especially the lyrics are burning in my soul as well as watching your reactions which mirrors mine the whole time. You expressed your feeling better than I could do it for myself and you showed me more of the songs meanings. What came clear to me hearing your thoughts.
I thought "Deutschland" was the masterpiece of Rammstein. Still "Deutschland" is the best video but here the lyrics are absolutely top notch. This video is very close to visualize the time between end and start of everys life. Coming from dust and going to be dust once again with a more or less span of life between to grow, to love, to fight, to care and finding perhaps a sudden unexpected end. Leaving others behind in there own loop of time or seeing them closing there own book of life.

You know, I'm really living through tough times. I'm married to a mexican and we have a baby girl together, she'll be 6 in september. She and her mother live in Mexico right now and I miss my baby girl so much. My wife and me were struggling a lot and right now I highly doubt she'll ever want to go to Germany again (where I live, I am german). On one hand, I'm tired of my wife's games with me, she's living life as SHE wants it and doesn't care about me and that I'm unable to see my baby girl.
So in my sight the line "Der perfekte Moment - schon ist er vorbei" symbols the birth of my daughter and after that we only got in trouble, never realizing the time we had together as beautiful. Right now I live alone in Germany, thinking every day about her. What could have gone different and hoping my wife's mind will change one day, seeing what I am doing for her and our daughter. Because right now all I'm good for is sending money to them.
It really breaks my heart being unable to be with my daughter, my wife is robbing me of my daughter's childhood and she just doesn't care at all.
That's what this song means for me.

As far as I understand, the three faceless figueres are the Norns (or Nornir) were the Norse and Germanic fates, the demi-goddesses of destiny. The Æsir often sought their council. They are similar to the Moirae and Fates of Greco-Roman myth.

Another thing that came to my mind about the babies being put back in to the mother to be born again on earth and also coming back in a sense they died on earth and are now being born in the other world and their birth or rebirth on earth is them already starting to die because as soon as your born your dying..your dying to live or as Rammstein put it "Wir sterben weiter bis wir leben" "We keep dying until we live" because in a sense what we perceive as dying is us actually being born again into the other world that's why the girl in the end seems happy when she dies because she knows that her death here means her being born over there..if that makes any Sense?
This is art at its finest..a true Masterpiece!!l

Your soul is shiny bright...and I can see it...great reaction! Thank you for the respect you gave the song.
I won't get too into the weeds about the lyrics... considering this was written during lockdown, when we where all thinking about our own mortality...it really hits ya!
My thoughts are, that, Till...a man nearing 60, still single...maybe he's experiencing longing for time to have success in all the areas of his life that arent fulfilled. I think.most ppl are calling the cloaked figures TimeKeepers...and I don't disagree, but I kinda feel that it's Time, disguised as the Grim Reaper...who in actuality, does control our Time.
Another beautifully cinematic video, and I've already pre-ordered their newest album...can't wait to hear what they give us!
I loved that you.mentioned that Rammstein makes you happy... I'm not alone! I actually started watching their reaction videos to help w depression...bc they just make me happy!

Noone has to excuse for his/her feelings. Especially when listen to songs of Rammstein.
They do what they mostly did with their songs. They tear away the cover of our daily routine and hit us directly in the heart, creating all kinds of feelings a human beeing is able to expierence. Sometimes deep anger, sometimes sadness. This time its this fear of loss, the realization, that our life is finite.
And thats why i love them, the lyrics served by tills incredible voice and supported by the massive and honest sound wall. No squiggles, no ribbons, pure sound.....
I'am absolute excited for the new album coming soon. But i'am also very concerned if this is "the final", we as fans ever feared of. Time will show.....
    Time is relentless....

Hi Aileen. Thank you for this wonderful reaction. I’m am really having trouble packing my emotions and thoughts into words and speaking them out loud, I’m more like the rational scientifically analyzing person, but you’ve done a beautiful job of describing what feelings I had when I first listened to this song. The song really made me think about what time is to me and I think it will affect me on how I’m continuing to live my life. And It most certainly got me thinking about death. Death is a certain thing that IS going to happen at one point in my life and I’m really frightened about it because it is out of my control and I’m unable to foreshadow when it’s going to happen. It could happen in the next hour or it could happen in 70 years (I’m 19). I don’t know what is going to be after my death and this is what really frightens me of time, because wether I want it or not, I’m going to find it out at one point (more precisely at the last point) in my life. Thank you once again for this wonderful reaction video. It helped me to express myself a bit and I wanted to share this with you. Now I want to wish all of you a wonderful Zeit. Greetings from Germany.

The 3 cloaked figures are actually "Zeitwächter" (time keepers), they symbolize past, present and future, so that interpretation was spot on. Most people just figure it's death. which is thought too simple.
