Put a pot with some of those pretty flowers and trailing plants on top of that stump! I put stumps in my flower bed for that purpose! Love them. Your yard is beautiful!
Michelle You are the best thing on the internet as far as I'm concerned! Of all the years and years of reading and hundreds of hours and hours of watching videos on gardening and landscaping over the years I have learned exactly what I need for my garden from just a FEW of your videos. It helps that you share the same growing zone so I can follow your advice to a T. I am in Glenview, IL north of Chicago. Thanks for taking some of the pressure off of my decisions when you, as a landscape professional, say things like "look at my garden. Nothing's blooming, everything's green and it's the same color green" I don't feel so bad for spending what I feel is a lot of money and then NOT getting 4 seasons of interest right in my garden, lol!! I like in other videos how you show how to put flowers and shrubs together in vignettes and groupings for an entire yard. You bring all the random facts together in one big picture! BTW, impressed with how you talk about what you are going to plant in your clients garden and then YOU are actually the person digging and installing everything!!! Wha?? I thought the designers bring in the work crew for the hard part ;))
@@gardeningTLC I just realized that the garden you recently planted by yourself was the side of your own house! Duh. Sorry about that...but still that was a LOT of digging and planting by yourself! (love the yellow baptisia). I did see that other video of the backyard job with the berm that your crew helped you with.
A few weeks ago you did a lovely conteiner with willow branches that really appealed to me. As soon as I could Iwent out and bought a bunch and they really elevated my container I added them to. thank you Michelle
I have terrible luck with coral bells in the ground, but they do great in pots. I bet planters of colorful annuals would be beautiful in the front bed.
Laura’s are Colette climbing roses from David Austin. I just planted 2 of the Generous Gardener climbers on my trellis … stunning blooms too! Love all of your hostas!
Maybe hosta guacamole? Stained glass? No. I think guacamole. Your gardens are beautiful, love your videos Michelle. I'm in MI I sure hope those damn bugs don't come my way. I would FREAK out!
I'm jealous. I saw a Lemony Lace Elderberry . I bought 3 a couple of years ago, and they were pretty, then they all turned brown and died, so I gave up. Beautiful garden
I noticed that all green thing this morning when I looked out my window. I think next year will be different because I just added a massive number of catmints to edge my borders. They are plugs but growing fast. Thanks for the tour. I need all the ideas I can get.
I appreciate the fact that you use some four pack annuals. I use a few expensive plants but for the most part I buy PW perennials or other name brand and mostly plant the cheaper annuals.
Wow! Thank you for the garden tour Michelle! Everything looks Beautiful & will only get more glorious thru the season! Look forward to future tours! I think that limey green Hosta with the darker green variegation may be Stained Glass. That is what it reminds me of anyway. Thank you for sharing your hard work & beauty with us! I appreciate it so much. 😊♥️
Yes she does.. but on the trellis at her sisters house they are lady of shallot. I have since learned that variety comes in both climbing and shrub varieties.
I just found your channel! I've been watching Laura on Garden Answers because her zone is similar to mine (I'm in Eastern Washington just north of her), but I think you're clay soil and zone might be more similar to mine. I've been binge watching and enjoying it!!
I love garden tours 😊 Everything looks so lush and BEAUTIFUL!! I have been wanting the Mini Me Watermelon Coleus and when I search it on PW they find no matches 😞😢 they sold out last year and I have not been able to get one.. Thank you for sharing your beautiful.
Try "Forever Purple" heuchera (I think it's un-branded) instead of PW Dolce Wildberry. It's an exact dupe for Wildberry and reliably comes back for me. I have tried probably 12 or 15 Wildberry heuchera and lost every one. Every Forever Purple I've planted has returned and thrived.
I will...I have some out in the green house....in fact I believe I loaded those in the truck for the garden fair. Thanks for the tip! (Plus they are less expensive)
Lady of Shallot - there is both a shrub rose and climber at D. Austin- I went through the same thing! Looks stunning and love your videos as always- thanks for doing them! 😊
@@gardeningTLC Ha! I did the same - it looks like I have a shrub on the struggle bus- I hope you have climbers- will be beautiful! (I do have an 'Above and beyond' climber that is beautiful this year, third year, similar color if you need to switch them out)
I have 2 Lady of Shllot bushes and they can get tall (6 ft) I trim them way back in spring and thru the summer to control them and keep their vase shape. DA also has another Varieit of Lady of Shallot listed as a climber so very confusing. It is a short climber only getting 8 ft tall. Your beds look great!
Your gardens are lovely. My bad knee is keeping me from doing what I would like in my garden this year. Having surgery soon. I hope I’ll be able to garden when I heal.
Has having 2 total knee replacement, first one was 2013 and it was ruff had to take a early retirement the 2nd one was done 2019 and it was so much easier, as they came so in how and you need to do for recovery, physical therapy is bad but very important to get were you need to be , at 72 I'm able to work in my garden with no knee pain , good luck on your surgery,
Yeah that tulip tree will get huge I have some here at the park I know it don't take them long either good luck let's go get huge okay I'm the one with a 3040 New Kensington PA I love watching your show you do a good job okay talk to you later bye
You have so many pretty garden areas, it's hard to decide which is best. We've had cicades forover a month now, my husband feeds then to the chickens. The Japenese beetles showed up last week feasting on my cana. Everything is gowing in nicely for you. Love your videos. Have fun at the garden show.
Beautiful! I love all the hostas. Are those the solar lights from Lowes in your cottage garden. They look so pretty in the store, but solar lights don't always live up to their potential in real life. How do you like them?
No. I got rhem at my garden center. They are from Plow and Hearth. I bought them a few years ago...so far they all still work. Put them in the garden last year.
That one in the front driveway bed gets all morning sun...say til like 2ish. And the one by the big shed is all day....it is very new....planted last July
🌳🌳Fantastic 🌳🌳
Thank you!
Beautiful, educational and inspiring! I can’t wait to try some of these plants in my garden 🪴 THANKS!
Have fun!
I've found the lungwort splits up really easy when you go to move them. Easy like Hostas. I turned 1 2 year old plant into 5
Put a pot with some of those pretty flowers and trailing plants on top of that stump! I put stumps in my flower bed for that purpose! Love them. Your yard is beautiful!
Michelle everything looks fantastic!
Cats meow pajamas...you crack me up!
Great job Michelle. What fun, everything is looking wonderful. Thanks for sharing and good luck over the weekend at the garden fair
What an accomplishment!! I hope you are taking time to enjoy your work. It really is beautiful...
Thank you so much!
Oh, so much fun! The cottage garden is my favorite I think. And I was along when you planted it up. Looking good, Michelle.
It is turning out better than I even imagined
Your garden looks incredible and everything looks so healthy! Your hosta collection is impressive!
Thank you

You could plant organic apple trees in the area between you and your neighbour, then in the fall you could sell the fruit at your shop.

Yes. I was speaking about Monica's.
The generous garden rose.....do you love them? Or too soon to tell?
@@gardeningTLC absolutely! They’re fast growing and bloom like crazy already and they’re still small!
Love your video, new subscriber🌺🌺🌺
Welcome!!
Maybe hosta guacamole? Stained glass? No. I think guacamole. Your gardens are beautiful, love your videos Michelle. I'm in MI I sure hope those damn bugs don't come my way. I would FREAK out!
Haha
Guacamole was my first guess. I’ve given up on heuchera they never come back.
I, also thought guacamole. I'm still looking for some more to buy.
I’m so glad I came across your channel!!! I loved everything! Maybe a blue evergreen of some kind in the first garden you showed?
Maybe.
I'm jealous. I saw a Lemony Lace Elderberry . I bought 3 a couple of years ago, and they were pretty, then they all turned brown and died, so I gave up. Beautiful garden

Very well could be.
Very well could be.
Michelle, I believe Laura has Colette roses climbing on her arch trellis by the kitchen raised bed garden.
Yes she does.. but on the trellis at her sisters house they are lady of shallot. I have since learned that variety comes in both climbing and shrub varieties.

I watch Laura too...she is great. Welcome to our little community!!😀
I screwed a pot into my tree stump and planted in the pot..gives the garden some height variation.
OH...I am so doing that....😃😃
I love garden tours 😊 Everything looks so lush and BEAUTIFUL!! I have been wanting the Mini Me Watermelon Coleus and when I search it on PW they find no matches 😞😢 they sold out last year and I have not been able to get one.. Thank you for sharing your beautiful.

Beautiful!! We have 4 David Austin Teasing Georgia climbing roses on our two wood gate arbors (if you need a climbing rose idea). They are humdingers!
Nice. I will check them out. Thanks😀
Don’t worry about cicadas. They don’t have functional mouthparts, so they won’t damage any plants.
So true....till they lay their eggs....
Green Spice heuchera is very hardy and does very well in my 5b.
That’s where I’m at with mine
Gorgeous
Lady of Shallot - there is both a shrub rose and climber at D. Austin- I went through the same thing! Looks stunning and love your videos as always- thanks for doing them! 😊

With all the varieties now available there must be a coral bells to color match your beautiful weigela and bloom at the same time. :)
Yes but the trick for me is getting one to come back.
Love your oak-leaf hydgrangea! I've recently bought one but it's still tiny.
I love mine🥰
@@gardeningTLC 👍👍👍

Cicadas 🤮. I couldn't deal with them.
Thanks Judy

So gorgeous!! What do you use to keep the weeds out of your mulch??
I pull them, use a hula hoe as I see them, and apply a pre-emergent called snapsnot
You need some white blooms in your hosta garden
Well, the lamimum is white nancy.....it's a start
How much sun a day does your weiglea get? I haven’t had luck growing them but zone 8 hot and dry. Maybe I gave it too much sun.
That one in the front driveway bed gets all morning sun...say til like 2ish. And the one by the big shed is all day....it is very new....planted last July
Lady of Shalott rose is sold as shrubs and climbers. You probably bought the wrong ones
Probably
About plants for sale whereto order.?.??
Right now only fall bulbs are for sale in the shopify shop, which is gardeningtlc.store
What fun - mistake et al.
