I saw a guy use a toilet plunger in a diy for a talk box. I think using that with this method would yield a superior result due to the rubber dampening and directing the sound much better. Just a thought. Thanks for the cool video.
You are right, a plungger would be better to isolate the sound, but too big for it. And my talkbox is more like a joke but i'll do a serious one soon...

If I'm not wrong, It's popular for being the thing that you plug an electric guitar to in order to play it properly but really you can do it with any kind of electric instrument with the proper cable. It's used for increasing the volume of instruments in live performances.

Why do you not eat the mic next to it picking up the sound from your mouth?..... Just curious... know real ones there's a mic and I've seen other DIY talk box and they had to have a mic
you are right, it's better to have a mic just near your mouth (what i did during recording the song) but i used the camera's microphone just at the end of the vidéo because i'm a lazy guy!

Instead of a funnel, I’d try using the head of a plunger, more sound resistant and thicker
