He basically came up with the idea of putting ink in a shoe polish sometime in the 70s or 80s and the price is just a product of having the market cornered and not having much competition for so long. I enjoy krink but it's twice the price of any comparable products.
Respect for the man's roots but fuck the prices, fuck the branding, and fucking hell kr's interview with vice was one of the cringiest things on the planet hahaha

Having nothing to do with any specific tool of the trade, as much as it was his branded ink that Dripped to the ends of the Earth. I do the same... Except less fancy because everyone mixes Paint and Ink if they want some stain or flow in a mop... But I do try to get fancy with outside the box thinking.

Krink was one of the first to make his own ink and sell it, and the original formula was one of the best for making drip tags. Now there are a lot of cheaper alternatives for equal results, but some people remain with the classics just because of the brand and the history behind it.

If U wanna use neon colours be careful with the other colours your using cause otherwise the synergie and contrast between the colours isn't good. But you gotta try your own and see ✌

Where I'm from in the US krink is something we joke about rich toys buying and thinking it makes them automatically better writers, but yes the guy who runs krink was a famous writer and his products were really good and not as expensive when he was a writer who sold ink and mops he made, but then he turned it into a big company and the quality got worse and the price got higher. it's still the go to brand for ppl who don't know much about graffiti in the US for some reason otherwise only rich people use it
I've had that silver before and it was really streaky and when I squeezed it for drips the nib shit out and spilled everywhere. Overpriced bs. Just buy aluminum paint and some paint thinner and looks just as good

He did some different things with his painting, specifically US mail boxes, and the thin consistency chrome paint he made at home was sought after. Weckman, you already know: you can get as good, or better, chrome from spent cans. So it really boils down to branding eminence, and "what prople will pay". Why do so many people want reviews on similar plastic bottle squeezers? Because popular culture has instilled in them that some way, some how, one "brand" has GOT to be better than another. Anyone who has used molotow's products know they are about as "superior" as you can get. But marketing is powerful. Krink has got to be better, it costs more. Like you said, Wek, the k60 squeezers last forever, so buy em empty and fill them with whatever and dont believe the hype. Krink isnt appreciably better than chrome from a can, and the only thing that you do by buying krink's products is serve to make the company and the man richer than they deserve to be. \end rant
They have a couple of not bad markers, but this is their maximum. I agree with you that inflated prices are associated with advertising, but not with quality.

Krink was invented in the 90s in New York by the graffiti writer KR. It was first famous for the ink and the famous drips it makes. It was one of the first graffiti dedicated products so that's why it's so iconic. Now the brand got involved with a lot of other brands and high fashion, that's why it's completely overpriced

If you are in another country it is fine, just do not bite his style. I had the same problem cause i wrote my moms initials KR but there is a famous writer who wrote KR aka KRink. Be unique with your style and you will be fine, add your house number or first 3 numbers of it, thats what old school writers did. [example] Wek254

I'm leaning more towards the name because he's worked with big companies like MINI (cooper) and G Shock, so he could be targeting a higher demographic since he's selling all of his stuff at way too high of the price that the average person would not bother paying.
The ending there really digs deep about the way humans are. The obsession with buying shit for cool points. I'll share some of my knowledge from testing and experiments. Krink makes dying ink and paint ink. Both are alcohol based. They are not good for hardcore active writers imo. The benefits of alcohol based anything is this. They can run thru a regular paint marker nib. And over time the nib won't dry out. Cons: the paint will literally fall away in the rain and snow. And the dye will fade in the sun within a week. And acetone will make both of them instantly fall apart and melt away. U can get the same exact mop from any convenience store (for free) and a can of OIL BASED PAINT at any hardware store (for free). And ur tags will actually last.
