Patsy had a torch singer quality to her. She was fabulous, and I loved watching you fall in love with her. Some of us have been doing that over and over again for awhile now.
I am 66 yrs old and way back in the 60's and 70's we all knew that at Christmas my grandaddy was going to have his one and only beer of the year and then dig out Patsy. I didn't appreciate her nearly enough back then, but I do now.
There are singers today that couldn't do what Patsy did effortlessly no matter how many hours of voice lessons! Remember that this was all before auto tune/pitch correction software; she's a Legend!!
It a shame more of my generation doesn't appreciate the OGs. I will say though that more of us are waking up and discovering how amazing these OG artists are. I think I might know one of the reasons young people are starting to find the OGs. Those of us that are at all musical get tired of hearing the same thing over and over, and consciously or unconsciously we recognize that so much of today's music is very generic and formulaic. I know I personally crave something different and I tend to find that in the "Oldies". As I was writing this another thought hit me. Another reason could be the realness of the OG artists and their music. Today everything is so engineered and artificially created that you don't get the personal connection to the artist that you get with the OGs. There will always be exceptions. I know several current artists that still make music that connect in a similar fashion, but they are they usually independent underground artists who don't get the attention of the mainstream.
First I want to make clear I am not the bribar. I do however live in Waco Texas about a mile and a half from the balcones distillery. This is one of my favorite Patsy Cline songs. I also want to say you are saying balcones correctly. All in all this was a fantastic reaction and I really enjoyed it.
Her voice is so soothing. Like if I need to get my mind out of work mode and relax, Patsy’s voice will get me there. Another one by her is “I Fall to Pieces”.
my gram had a beautiful singing voice, always said if she could sound like anyone it would have been Patsy! i mean wouldnt we all want to sound like her!
Patsy was phenomenal, but I’m telling you, to hear the best that Patsy ever did, listen to her version of “Faded Love”, especially the last 3 seconds. Also I’d recommend the live recording of Leann Rimes tribute to Patsy, it’s a medley of Patsy’s songs, including this one, and she does an amazing job. She got her start being called “the new Patsy Cline” & doing many of her songs.
I’m not in Texas right now! 😂 But I’m flying over the pond next week. And yes, I will be staying with a certain someone in Texas. lol 😂 Back to the reaction. Awesome old nostalgic song. Great reaction guys. Thank you for that! I have a song request totally different but its country. “Dirt cheap by Cody Johnson”. Just so Dustin can count my vote. I need to order you a better whiskey to make up for the bad one, I’ve sent you last time. But I have to do that after I’m back from Texas.
You don't have to make up for anything. We keep saying it, and we mean it. We even want to try the bad ones on the channel. For us, it's sometimes more fun to do a bad one. - Keith
Patsy is one of the ladies I put on to sing along with when I feel the urge to really reach for the power and control she seems to effortlessly pour forth from that velvet-lined throat. Crazy and I Fall to Pieces are two of my favorites.
You really need to react to "Leann Rhimes' Tribute to Patsy Cline". It sounded like Patsy was singing for real. Leann did an amazing tribute. Please consider it at least. Thank you for doing these reactions and being honest with us...sometimes Brutally honest.
Her voice sounds higher than all the other songs I've heard from her. Usually her voice is deeper, rich, and more mature sounding. It sounds higher and light on this track, which is interesting. I wonder why. Is it from earlier in her career? 🤔
This was at the end of her career. This song was the last single released (in her lifetime) two months before her death. At this point, Patsy was moving into ballads/torch song territory and this was reflected in the material she was given.
Tammy Wynette sang effortlessly like Patsy, some of Tammy’s hits DIVORCE, apartment #9, etc. are some great songs. All of the greats Loretta, Patsy, Dolly, Tammy all had this effortless singing. Would like to to see your reaction to the live version of Charlie Rich singing Behind Closed Doors.
I think you nailed your analysis of this song, or any song by her. Amazing singer, but it’s almost opera to me. I love traditional country, and I appreciate this song. I’m not putting it on a playlist.
oh boo hoo "you're not putting it on a playlist" well thanks for feeling like it was really important to let everybody know that. ( every word of my comment spoken with sarcasm.
got a new one with two of your preferred artists i think, george strait and martina mcbryde "jackson" found a live performance when i did a search on youtube
It's a shame that Pasty Cline didn't do an Christmas album before her untimely death , how awesome would it sounds like, with her haunting pure classic golden voice.
@@stevebournite184 Thanks. I hadn't tried the bourbon before. I'm glad they liked it. I'm not trying to steal your thunder, but I do live in Odessa, TX.
@@mikehamilton9843 all good brother, glad a fellow Texan is introduced these midwestern boys to some good Texas Dew, they need a edumucation as they would say on good spirits
73 and remember this beautiful song!! New Zealand, December 2024
Patsy is the queen of the purest voice.
Patsy is pure talent.. An angel that left this earth way to soon.
Patsy had a torch singer quality to her. She was fabulous, and I loved watching you fall in love with her. Some of us have been doing that over and over again for awhile now.
Wow!! Patsy was the country star who could sing in a, Honky tonk bar or Carnegie Hall and sound like a angel.

Patsy Cline just feels like the kind of music you put on the Juke box in a roadside diner at 2 a.m.

Nashville and LA have been telling people what to like for decades. The internet is breaking that stranglehold. - Keith
Yep! One of the reasons I like Toby Keith so much. He did his own thing and refused to play by the rules the industry set.
@@BourbonCountryReacts absolutely! The industry has had a strangle hold on music and I think we are slowly seeing people break that hold.
I love the classic country best music ever
If you haven't listened to Sweet Dreams (Of You) by Patsy Cline, I vote for that one!
Patsy is one of my heroes and gone way too soon. Her voice just makes me take a deep breath and relax.
absolutly beautiful!
Lee Ann rhymes and lorries Morgan cover this song. They diid it beautifully
well in my opinion you dont have the new country without the OG’s that paved the way❤
Shes got you and walking after midnight are wine glass shattering songs
Don’t forget Crazy.
Patsy is the best!

Patsy was the greatest. It’s a shame she died so young.
