Good to see this house's offerings seem to be getting better and better. I know our worst critics are ourselves, but I genuinely think your reviews are very good. Your descriptions evokes those scent memories. Certainly you've piqued my interest in these. BTW how much was the 21 sample set, as it doesn't say on their website?
New fragrance lover (one year now, 250 frags, mostly clones and designers with a few niche-please forgive me). I'm so glad that I'm starting to listen to the likes of Rich Mitch, RAM Man, The Scentinal, Persolaise, Dacob, and a few others...maybe Sebastian, too...but I digress.) I bought le Cri on this video half a year ago. Put my nose on it. Yeah. But tonight, a hot summer night, I sprayed 8x of le Cri. Wow. The rose takes a minute to develop...like an Indian rose attar-maybe a generic rose scent (dare this novice suggest "generic"...but because, with my limited experience, it's the same rose in affordable rose water). It's well balanced tho, with the other notes-maybe ambrette comes in and the aldehydes (tho I don't know what aldehydes are). Thank you RM! Just wow. It belongs with Shalimar in my mind (so different), tho maybe the Shalimar story trumps all, more or less. Edit: Can I share my limited understanding after the dry-down? Thank you. Rose. The silage (from my perspective) is rose dominant. That's alright. But when sniffing the skin I find the other scents, though I'm unable to describe. Patchouli is there. The other notes mentioned above as well. But in the air; rose. Totally a must have imo.
It's been a long time since I smelled them. I remember being impressed but I only got ambre russe and I reckon I'd get the vetiver but I have Fat Electrician which is quite similar
I think it often refers to a blend of Iso- E super and sandalwood materials. It's indistinct, but noticeable. So it's easier to write woodsy notes than say "Iso -e super, ebanol, polysantol, cedryl acetate for example.
I think that's definitely the case, they're doing it to mask the fact they're using proprietary ingredients and that those ingredients are less defined and distinct than some naturals and even some accords
I’ve enjoyed this series immensely. Le Cri is one of my all time favorites. The happiest iris I know
Cheers mate, I'll be doing on skin testing next week!

Tobac tabou, the dark spicy aniseed note is the immortelle absolute. It's prominent alright.
All these comments!
I told you about azemour ages ago. Luca Turin gave it 5 stars
Screw him, orange wanker!
Musk Tonkin is white floral, with a humongous styrax resinoid note that gives the sour, plastic, hyacinth note.
🤫
You saved a couple of the best for last... Looking forward for the skin sessions mate
Coming up this week!
Parfum d' Empire

I’m wondering if… just if “Woody Notes””Floral Notes” and so on is actually the specific trademark name of an actual ingredients and we’re unaware. 😂
