NO WAAAAAAY! This battle is iconic, and a perfect follow up to the MB14's La Cup showcase. This performance bridges the gap between the modern beatboxing \ loopstation world and the non-beatboxing population. Both MB14 and Saro are incredible artists, and there's a TON of inside knowledge that makes this battle that much more special: 1) Both MB14 and Saro are performing using ONLY the original Boss RC505 (MK 1) loopstation. There is absolutely no MIDI sequencing available to them, so each looped layer had to be performed by the artist themselves in some manner, and an extremely small number of effects could be applied to the sounds & sequences they've recorded in each of the loop banks (also, there is no loopback feature, where a recorded layer could be re-sampled using different effects). All this to say that they're building each layer on the fly as we watch. 2) As per the GBB rules pre-recorded samples\loops\soinds\beats are prohibited, so every sound you hear was created live as we watch. 3) MB14's equipment was malfunctioning in this battle, particularly in the 2nd rounds, and he's such a consummate professional and experienced performer that most people have no idea that he's performing with (I believe) only half of his loopstation banks working, and he pulled off the round seamlessly. 4) NOBODY saw Saro coming when this battle happened. MB14 was the heavy favorite going in, and only a handful of people were aware of some of the techniques Saro had developed leading up to this performance. Beyond his precision and speed building up his tracks, Saro has incredible composition skills, and really knows how to move a crowd, and do so very quickly. FUN FACT: in his professional battling career, Saro has not only never lost a round, he's only ever lost ONE SINGLE POINT across every round he's played.
GBB LORE: The guy with the eyes is BBK, a Canadian beatboxer, community-appointed "President" of GBB. Its an honorific title, but the man can be seen in MANY GBB battles, because he's naturally a reaction meme factory 🤣👍🏻
Hey yes! So happy you did this. I'm so glad that I introduced you to this world. As per the difference between Saro and MB14 I gave you an insight in a comment under your La Cup video : (...)"MB14 is, as you saw, using raw voice and harmony layers, SARO is using a lot the effects of the Loop Station to create more electro sounds (change the pitch, speed, reverb, wawa effect etc) and his style is more Dance vibes"(...)

Saro is an actual legend, never lose a battle, now he's just a judge from time to time.
