    • @viraldesai6396

Annu S - it’s a culture Annu and I agree with you people should change their way of talking, even it irritates the listeners too, sometimes I feel like slapping the person who interrupts the other people involved in the conversation
This is a part of discipline and still many people in India have yet to learn discipline

The Kapoor's are a great people. I remember when the nanny who took care of Rishi and his siblings died all the four sons had come for the funeral and carried the coffin. (Rishi was a big star then). Chimpoo (Rajeev) was in school with me, and he would carry a handicapped boy down, all the way from the second floor on his back. Rare to find such values today.

I was interested to watch Rishi Kapoor's interview and not Barkha, who has no audacity, courtesy, and respect for the guest. At one point I was compelled to stop watching the interview for Barkha's repeatedly interpreting Rishi Kapoor and not letting him finish his statement, apart with her choking voice and annoying appearance with layer of makeup on her face. However, I enjoyed very much talking Rishi, as usual the evergreen dashing romantic Hero, spoken magically, with his smilling soft talk.

As for credit, Deewar really needed another, stronger ramrod persona rather than the romantic Shashi Kapoor who faded in the film even with the most memorable dialogue in Indian film history. He was far better suited to the role he played in Trishul, and consequently did not faded but was a good match to the giants who played his father and half brother. Similar mismatches were for example Victor Banerjee in the role of a Pathan (where Shashi Kapoor would have suited far more) in the film Passage to India about British in India, for one. Another example is Shabana Azmi as a Bengali mother trying to manage in UK, in a film with Shirley McLaine, where either of Moushumi Chatterjee or Aparna Sen were obviously better suited, and yet another is again Shabana Azmi playing a role in Mrityudand that was far more Dipti Naval.
Coming back to what Rishi Kapoor says, whenever the co stars had an equal role and were up to it, they did shine on equal footing with AB, as for instance Dharmendra did in Sholay or Vinod Khanna in at least two films where they co starred. In fact AB had a junior status in some, it was quite clear, but the reason others fell back isn't because he had clout, it's because he persisted with sincere determination.
